Definitely a fine "grab dinner before a show" type place, but not somewhere I'd frequent - especially for Italian (pasta, pizza, etc). The pizza was ok but definitely expensive for what it was. It gave vibes that it was cooked in like a toaster oven. The pasta was ok, but said it came with "baby shrimp" and then had three medium to large size shrimp on it? The martinis also weren't great. The inside does have a really cool vibe though. Service was also fine - we went early so it wasn't busy.

We wanted to choose a restaurant on the same street where we were attending a show. I read the Yelp reviews prior to booking this restaurant. We were greeted, seated, and served by the chef owner. He was delightful and entertaining. We first ordered drinks and enjoyed our conversation with the owner. The restaurant is long and narrow, with patio dining weather permitting. The ambiance was warm and comfortable. We relied on the owner choices on appetizers and entrees. Before any food came, we already downed our second drinks. I love to provide a review of our menu choices, but I have little memory of how good they were. I ordered the bronzino, and I believe it was delicious. We were spending most of our dining experience hanging out with the chef owner, which was actually informative and fun. .

I just left her restaurant upset and I just walked down 52nd St. and I found this charming little place by accident in hell kitchen they make their own bread. They have a martini glass with lights in it and the polenta fantastic and the charming saying hello to the other restaurant, may I have your car to open the bar instead of taking my order, I never heard such a ridiculous thing oh my God, oh my God, this is out of control

The food was delicious here and the owner was our server and was very fun. I got the mushroom Tartuffe and my husband got the lasagna and both were amazing. The decor was clean and the only thing I'll say is I wish it the decor inside was more vibrant to reflect how fun the owner was and how flavorful the food was! We would definitely go back!

food was very poor. seafood was not fresh, the osso bucco was horrid, it and rest of main courses were sent back. at least the restaurant did not charge us. the restaurant was 90% empty, bad sign because other restaurants within a block were packed full.

There are so many words that might capture the essence but all I can say is it is in the secret sauces! No matter where I go in the world, it's only old school New York Italian that's pounded out to the thinnest most delicious and lovely dish. Don't miss this small intimate traditional place - you might even hear chef's soprano if you're lucky

I had a fried chicken dish that was dry and bland. My wife's pasta simplici's tomato sauce was also Bland, with a strong unseasoned tomato flavor. The meatballs were tasty, however as was the caprese.

Food, service, and ambiance at 10pm on a Sunday was unquestionably the best experience ever. Our waiter was on it! He was very attentive, had great mannerism, and provided us great service. The food in itself was the most authentic and fresh Italian food I have ever had. The calamari was fresh, light, and the sauce was powerful and delicious. The bread served had a perfect light and airy crunch that was to die for! My pasta... SPEECHLESS!

I just moved to 52nd and this is going to be my new local Italian place! The decor is interesting, but the food here is truly authentic. It's the best I've had in the city since spending a month in Italy. Try their amatriciana with homemade pasta, great happy hour specials, and fire cheese plates. Will be back!
