My friend and I stumbled into this lovely place after playing tennis on the west side highway. The decorations were nice and it was really quiet. Their service was amazing! They were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our server recommended the Parmesan milk bread and it was out of this world. I would definitely come back just for this, so this is a must try. My friend liked the potato ravioli more than me. It has a little bit more of a lighter flavor. My favorite was the goat cheese tortellini. They were able to make it vegetarian for me and it was absolutely divine! The cheesecake was probably the best thing we got. I've never had cheesecake this good. I usually prefer cheesecake with a crust, but this one was so delicate, and the mouse detail was such a cute surprise. Will 100% come back next time!!

Not Blown Away. The restaurant is beautiful in a casual, hip way. Had that sophisticated, informal feel. Couches with luxe appointments. Food was not as good as we hoped. We had:- Parmesan Milk Bread - Not as good as it sounded. It was literally (fresh) roles with coarse salt. Most establishments don't have this as a course you would pay for, but when in Rome..... The butter on the other had was delicious.- Yellow Fin Tuna TarTare - Very good but not unique.- Mushroom Soup - Stand out star. Made with ricotta cheese. Best mushroom soup we have ever had.- Pacific Blue Prawns - had a cheese sauce not mentioned in the description. For me, fish with cheese ....yuck.- Faroe Island Salmon - another cheesy creamy sauce not disclosed in the description. Very heavy. Double yuck.- Homemade Cheesecake - tasty and shaped like a piece of Swiss cheese. The service was good but please describe your food better on the menu because not everyone thinks cheese or creamy sauces on fish is a good thing.

This past weekend I was in NYC for a quick trip. I chose a few places I had in mind to eat and made reservations for the duration of my trip. My first stop was Vestry.Vestry is located in the ground floor of the Dominick hotel in SoHo. Dimly lit, the first thing that stood out to me was the playlist. Classic 90s RnB set mood with Ginuwine, Aaliyah, and others coming through the overhead speakers. We were quickly seated and my server Daniella went over the menu with us. I started out with the mushroom soup. 10/10. We then shared the sweet corn risotto. 10/10. My entree was the Waygu ribeye with bordelaise sauce and trumpet mushrooms. Exquisite. We ended the night with the honeycomb panna cotto. Literally everything we had was amazing and the service excellent. The Michelin star is very much deserved. Vestry is on my list for a return on my next trip.

We did not eat dinner, however we had the cheesecake and it was like a little slice of heaven. Presentation is clever. Decadent, creamy, delectable. The lug her apple jelly is heaven. Wine selection is great. Amazing music and vibe. Loved our bartender. Highly recommend.

Despite an obvious identity crisis, the food at Vestry does not disappoint. When you settle in you'll notice that the playlist is a combination of 90s and 00s R&B - everything from 112 to B2K. As a millennial I thoroughly enjoyed it but it struck me as odd given the space and the clientele. Often times RW menus are meager at best, but Vestry wisely took advantage and used RW to preview the highs of their menu. The stands outs included the Parmesan Milk Bread with Seaweed Butter, Saffron Girelle Pasta, Warm Summer Corn, and Corn Polenta. The Spice-Dusted Long Island Fluke was flavorful but dry, and the Smoked Amish Chicken was very salty (and I love salt!). The Jasmine Panna Cotta was good but overpowered by the very sweet honeycomb on top. Finally, Homemade Cheesecake, known for being served in the shape of a block of cheese with a mouse staring at it, was playful and unique. We had to destroy the mouse immediately because who wants a mini rodent on their dinner table? Vestry is a great place to take your parents or a date. They do have a dress code so you might as well wear the [email protected]

I went here for their restaurant week menu and can see why they have a Michelin star! The service here was amazing. They check your coats for free. They never let my water glass get empty. Everything we had was solid good. Our favorites were the organic chicken, braised pork belly and homemade cheesecake. I almost didn't recognize the organic chicken because of it's oblong shape, but it was so tender and delightfully surprised it came with a crispy chicken the shape of a chip! The braised pork belly was also really good. The mustard sauce was not too sharp and it came with a crispy skin. The homemade cheesecake was super clever shaped like cheese and the apple compote the shape of a mouse. The cheesecake was the perfect sweetness and sharpness. It was surprisingly soft and I don't know how it held it's shape. The drinks were small, but fun. They had seasonal cocktails with names like "He's Just Ken", but it was just a bit tart for me. We went during dinner time and the atmosphere was a great date night spot. We could tell that it would also be a great lunch spot with all of the windows and real plants (really appreciated that).

3.4 to be exact.Came here for restaurant week. Appetizers and entrees were okay but flavors were nothing memorable. The sous vide chicken was very moist and tender though. Desserts were their weakest link. Their signature cheese cake was supper cute in presentation, but had a weird taste that I couldn't bare. All the desserts were heavy on sugar. The best thing was the fresh milk bread we paid extra for.

Came here for restaurant week and was honestly pleasantly surprised! I feel like Michelin star places can be hit or miss because of the hype and sometimes pretentious attitude so I was skeptical but overall had a good meal here Here are my highlights and low lights:Pros:- I was really happy with the combinations of flavor and texture for each of the dishes! We tried the salmon crudo, shrimp main course, chicken main course, and mushroom app. Each of the dishes had really fresh ingredients. The mix of umami rich flavors with the fresh greens and crunchy textures was an absolutely divine flavor explosion in each bite! - my friend has a lot of allergies so I really really appreciated them accommodating his allergies while still making delicious and flavorful dishes! Cons:- for how fancy it was, at times we felt a bit rushed when they kept asking if we were done when there was still food on the plate- I think I'm being a bit dramatic but it felt a little presumptuous when the waiter said "I assume you're here for restaurant week" because of the tone in which it was saidI do think this place is worth checking out for a nice meal because of the food and ambiance, but I probably would only do this for restaurant week because the prices are a little more affordable.

Loved the decor in this restaurant. You will be asked to check your coat, they don't allow coats draped over the chairs. When we sat down, that made sense. The chairs are not ideal to hang coats on and would take away from the aesthetic of the restaurant. They provide a mini table handbags. We had the Toro, Black Cod, Sushi rice, Orange Sorbet, Brook trout, big eye tuna, cheesecake. Our favorites of those were the big eye tuna, sushi rice, and black cod. Of course, the signature cheesecake is super cute with the little mouse. We were a little underwhelmed cocktail wise. Good visual presentation, but a little lackluster and sweet - we had the whiskey crush and elijah craig. Food tips: Big Eye Tuna, Black Cod, Sushi Rice.

Dined at vestry for restaurant week. Eve try thing was delicious, but what truly blew me away was the service. I work in tribeca so it's a short ride to vestry for dinner; as a result, I made an early reservation for 5:15pm. When I arrived at the restaurant basically right on time the door was locked--I found out, as the hostess quietly let me in, that vestry had been taken over for the live filming of a promo for New York fashion week. She very quietly led me to my table, where I was greeted by Aidan, the wine director. At this point, talking to Aidan, it became clear that much of the vestry staff had been taken off guard by the filming and Aidan specifically was mortified by the fact that I had been walked through it. To "make it right," he comped the full wine pairing for my meal as well as an extra course from the ala carte menu (the cold duck, which was divine). I also had:-chocolate parpadelle with dock rillettes-Colorado lamb-honey crisp apple cheesecakeWith 6 wines to pair (including a glass of champagne to start and a reserve tokay for dessert that was out of this world). A $60 deal for vestry is a great bargain in normal circumstances. What I got was almost laughably well worth it. I know other reviewers have noted poor service when dining on the restaurant week menu but my experience couldn't be more different. I've eaten at a lot of very nice restaurants, so including Michelin star restaurants across New York and the world, and this was, bar none, the best service there I've ever received. The staff mentioned they intend to be 3 star by the end of the year and based on their performance tonight I fully believe it. Truly an extraordinary dining experience that went above and beyond. Special shout out as well to the hostess who made sure to point out Tiffany "New York" Pollard sitting at one of the other tables on my way out. A fun little bit of celebrity sighting to end the evening!
