Who is Uncle Vinnie? I don't know. But the pizzas he slings sure are good!! We followed Yelp reviews to this place, evidently a newcomer to the neighborhood, and were pleasantly shocked by how good these pies were. (Jeff O., Yelp buddy, bookmark this place to try if you're ever in these parts!) We ordered six pies for a birthday party we hosted nearby and confirmed the pre-order with the pleasant staff (the owner maybe? or the uncle of the owner, Vinny himself?) the day before. The delivery person showed up exactly on time bearing six steaming hot pies. Crusts: classic NYC style, chewy and substantial, made to perfection. The grandma pesto pie was slightly thicker, but no less crisp and chewy -- just beautiful. Sauce: salt, sugar and acid in perfect balance. Cheese: moderately applied and perfect for us. We hate biting through 2" layers of rubbery cheese. Other toppings: generously applied. If you only try one pie, you shouldn't miss the grandma pesto. Balanced proportions of tomato sauce, pesto and mozzarella somehow avoided the cardinal sin of sogginess, and even hours later, the crust was still crisp, chewy and substantial. Uncle Vinnie's doesn't make fancy brick oven / Neapolitan pizzas; it does make the most perfect, classic NYC-style pie we've had in a long time. Methinks it's worthy of some fame. * Note: The restaurant only has one phone line and if they're already on that line, you are NOT routed to voicemail. You just have to call and keep trying until you get through. Be warned that they get busy -- but for ordinary transactions, you can easily order online.

Customer service TOP Teir! The smell hits you as soon as you open the door! Smells and tastes so flavorful! Great price for amazing pizza! I'm sure a lot of places in NYC say the same thing. Came here for a snack but the first slice was so good we ordered two more as soon as we were done. I would definitely come back here Thank you Vinny ...Sergio was AMAZING!

Great late night pizza! We were looking for a pizza spot at ~11 pm after a comedy show on the UES. There weren't many places open at that hour, but Uncle Vinny's was! The service was fast and friendly. There were all the classic selections, including their take on a grandma pizza and ranch sausage. I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken with blue cheese and margherita pizza. I loved how saucy the margherita pizza was, and thought the buffalo chicken was good though not exceptional. There are just a few seats for sitting, and we ended up taking the pizza with us and ate it outside. My only complaint is that the pizza was a bit pricey at $5/slice. My bar for pizza is also fairly high just given how commoditized it is in new york...

The meatball parm was great! The bread is baked fresh for every order too. Came here late at night waiting for our cat from the animal hospital. The (owner?) staff was so kind and caring toward our situation. We stayed in for an hour and they were happy to have us. It was the highlight of our day especially after such an unfortunate situation

Used to enjoy ordering from here. They had a few pasta dishes we would get. The last time I ordered they completely messed up the dish TWICE (even after I stayed and waited for them to remake it). They have REFUSED to refund me. Will never order from here again. Terrible customer service. They also stopped giving the complimentary bread along with the meal, but price of dish has stayed the same. very disappointing. There are better options in the neighborhood.

I just had the best slice of pizza that I have ever had! We ordered dinner as well. "Uncle Vinny's" must make their own dough and bread. The chicken parm was amazing. Im visiting from out of town and this will be a regular stop to eat every time I come to the city. Sergio is friendly and very accommodating. We ordered dinner for the family and it was a big hit. I wish I knew about this place years ago. Best pizza and crust you will find!!!
