East Village - Manhattan - NYC Arguably one of the most diverse culinary hot spots in the planet!!I'll be honest - I'm always scared of fusion cuisine. It's been drilled in my brain from multiple season of "no reservations" that fusion is usually a haphazardly executed mismatch of warring, stalwart culinary ideologies Tuome is clearly an exception to this. Their food is firmly grounded in Chinese roots but flowers into contemporary neo-Asian and potentially Euro inspired masterpieces. The dim sum tower for two has plenty of abstruse flavor notes that work beautifully (while also combining ample amounts of luxury ingredients that you'd expect at a 1 star), the pig out for two was a soliloquy of textures, the desserts (beignets and this chocolate MOUSSE) held me hostage at my tiny table, diving head first into gastronomic elysium. If Huxley found out about the futuristic fusion occurring at Tuome, I'm confident that Brave New World would have taken a more delicious twist (I mean who needs to read 20+ pages on a "hatchery")I'll surely be back - and you should consider your next dinner reservation here

Tuome is super cozy and unassuming with a tremendously welcoming staff, it felt like a warm hug on this very cold night. The Valentine tasting menu was 6 courses for $250 which isn't that affordable as far as Michelin goes, considering there aren't any additional treats provided throughout the meal. However, every dish was excellent, no notes for any of them. My favorites were definitely the mushroom/oxtail taro puff with black truffle (I mean, how could you not like this?!) and the snow crab. Overall a great experience with some really creative dishes/flavors. I also loved that they take a Polaroid of your party at the end of the nice - what a sweet gesture!!

Get to the ChaseOverall great place to try, but a bit out of the way and some knockout dishes with others not as impressive as one would have thought. Appreciate the spin on some Chinese classics, but the premium price didn't seem worth it. Pros:1) 2 apps, pork for two + snow crab + 4 drinks and 2 desserts came to $400 for two people and 20% tip, which wasn't bank breaking like other Michelin manhattan places2) Service was fast and waiter was super helpful in advising what would pair best3) Scallop appetizer and hazelnut desserts were standouts4) Not stuffy high brow vibes, much more cozy 5) Extensive wine listCons:1) 2 dishes used the same exact noodles, which I can appreciate saving time but seemed a bit lazy for this level of prices2) Rice side dish was not worth it3) Some really great dishes, but others were a bit lackluster and could have used some acid to break the heaviness

Tuome has been on my list for quite some time, and I was thrilled to finally book a table. The restaurant offers a cozy, intimate atmosphere with dim lighting that sets the perfect mood. As expected, the waitress cautioned me about the amount of food I ordered, but here's what I tried: * Quail: An absolute must-order! Perfectly marinated and bursting with flavor--I loved every bite. * Scallop Dumpling: Delicious, with the foie gras adding an excellent touch of richness. * Dim Sum Tower: A pricier option with 8 pieces total. The shrimp toast was my favorite--a modern, Asian-fusion twist on traditional dim sum. * Snow Crab Noodles: Creamy, buttery, and absolutely delicious. A standout dish! * Pig Out: Served with peanut butter noodles, which surprised me as I usually don't enjoy peanut butter in savory dishes--but these were fantastic. The crispy pork, however, was a bit too salty for my taste. I honestly prefer the crispy pork belly in Chinatown. * Broccoli: A great side dish with the perfect amount of vegetables. Delicious, though not as spicy as advertised. * Fire in the Sky: An excellent cocktail--highly recommend it.* Chinese beignets: Delightfully light and airy, pairing perfectly with the creamy vanilla ice cream and a touch of red bean. The flavors were beautifully balanced--a must-try dessert!I'd definitely return to explore more of the menu. Overall, everything was quite good, with a few standout dishes I'd happily order again.

Food: 4Decor: 4Service: 4Came here for dinner with my brother. Overall a solid 1 star spot and one of the most affordable Michelins in the city. Would come back again.SCALLION PANCAKE4/5. Interesting presentation and an amusing play on an everything bagel with cream cheese. Extra points for creativity.EGG [crispy, deviled, chili] 153/5. Tasty and unique presentation since the egg was fried. Chili was a nice complement and added some heat.SNOW CRAB [noodle, squash, dashi butter] 434/5. Crab was delicious, and the noodles were cooked nicely in the broth.Service was good, on par with a 1 star.

I believe this might be my first time, trying the original location of a Michelin star restaurant. I love the ambience of this restaurant, stellar place for a date as it was very intimate with the lighting and all. The menu was small and easy to read, Made things easier to pick from. We got the dim sum tower which was pretty tasty. I wish they had more steamed options instead of fried options. However, the best thing was the lobster item and the shrimp toast option. The steam shrimp dumpling had a weird taste with the saltines of the sauce and the citrus flavor of the foam that was on the dumpling. The fried pork football dim sum was OK. The crab noodles was the star of the show was the noodle texture was perfectly cooked. The crab was amazing. Cocktail was also very good, not too strong of alcohol. Taste yet it got the job done. The complementary bread was unique and very good. The pork dish was my least favorite, I was expecting it to taste like lechon however besides the crispiness layer on top, the pork was very mushy, which I did not like. The peanut noodles and the salad that came with it were amazing though. Great service, highly recommend and I would come back.

Cozy restaurant with excellent food. Really interesting dishes. Stand out was the octopus, with the brown butter and foam potatoes it was one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had. The hazelnut dessert was also amazing (even better than the beignets. Pig out pork was very good and overall we had a great experience. We were running very early but they still found a table to squeeze us in.

I was really excited to try Tuome for their contemporary Asian American menu. My favorite dish was their complimentary scallion puffs. They were very airy and crispy and reimagined the classic scallion pancake. I also loved the perfectly grilled foie gras in the scallop appetizer. However, I deducted a star for service because the waitress felt a little cold. She was still nice enough to gift us a free dessert at the end of the meal for my birthday, but given that this place has a Michelin star, I would've expected friendlier service throughout the night.

This is a bit of a rant on our dining experience at Tuome, we had come here to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a bad experience with the staff here that led us to be disappointed considering that this is a newly minted one michelin star. We arrived early for our reservation and checked in with the host who told us that we cannot accommodate us because we arrived 20 minutes early with a 'tude. We felt like that wasn't very nice but understand that working in hospitality can be rough so we hung out at a bar nearby while waiting to be seated. We had a little it too much fun playing pool at the bar across the street and came back for our seating 10 minutes past our reservation thinking that hopefully our table will be ready by now, however the table was once not ready. We stood by the door waiting another 10 to 15 minutes for our table, 20 to 25 minutes past our reservation time and felt like the host didn't give 2 ***** about us. I don't even recall a "Thank you for waiting or I'm so sorry for the wait".When we finally sat down, we asked the waitress for any recommendations for items on the menu and felt like she was trying to sell us to the highest priced items on the menu. When we declined to order any drinks because we had a few at the bar across the street while waiting, we felt neglected throughout the meal. In terms of the food, Tuome serves asian fusion which was very tasty. We had tried the devil eggs, the various types of dumplings, snow crab noodles, and the pig out, and other various sides on the menu, everything was delicious. However we will not be back because we did not feel welcomed and did not enjoy the close seating in this restaurant.

Nice ambiance with dimmed lights in the interior and candles at the tables. Recommend making a reservation online, but it was super easy to get a spot same day. I noticed some parties got seated without a reservation, so it may be possible to walk in as well. Food was delicious:- Complimentary appetizer: the balls were hollow and crispy and paired well with the ricotta and everything bagel seasoning- Quail ($26): small but tender and well seasoned. The mashed potatoes on the side were really smooth.- Snow Crab ($43): tasty but on the saltier side- Chicken ($37): the most tender and juicy chicken, even the breast pieces! Pleasantly surprised by the portion size as well. A bit too salty for my tastes but still highly recommend.- Chocolate Mousse ($14): not shown on the menu but the server informed us of the dessert options. A fair amount of dessert, the chocolate mousse was light, creamy, and worked well with the crunchy hazelnuts and soft chocolate cake. Service was excellent! Water was frequently refilled and the servers were very attentive. The whole experience made the prices well worth it. One tiny restroom in the back by the bar. We ended up having to wait in a line to use it.
