This was absolutely worth it. Every piece of the omakase set was individually sauced/seasoned and delicious. The ikura was one of my favorites. The chefs were efficient and friendly. There are two sushi bars at this location. Arrive on time for your reservation! If you're trying to keep your costs low and based on just the omakase, avoid ordering extras from the right side of the menu. Alcohol will also run up the bill. We tried a few special items and concluded it's best to re-order one or two of our favorites from the omakase if we wanted to add to the 13 courses.

Must try in UWS! Customer service is phenomenal. They just opened in December 2024 and they have their operations down. Cute place + great value. Our sushi chef was Andy and he was very nice. Explained our every bite and just overall lovely. Our servers (Vicky and one other girl with glasses) were also very attentive. Refilled our waters right away and kept giving us free refill on our tea. (Another must try - delish) Favorites: Uni, Zuke Akami,Chu toro, toro, and unagi, We got so lucky with timing since they had a promotion for a free nigiri: wagyu with scallop. Highly recommend!

This is the second location of Tsumo. With grand opening promotion before 1/12/2025, everyone gets Wagyu scallop truffle(regular price of $20) on house. 13+1 course omakase for $58. It is unbelievable and unbeatable in Manhattan. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a waiting area for ppl next round. Therefore you won't be disturbed by next round customers who arrive early. All fish is fresh and flavorful. I love their uni which is from Maine, much better taste than from California. Chef Steve was very generous to make sushi. You can tell the uni on my piece was overloaded. Truffle piece or caviars were in good amount. I already booked another visit in one week. Overall I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Omg it was absolutely the best!!! The place has nice seating area where you get to see the chef making each piece of sushi. I had low expectations to begin with but it exceeded my expectations!! Went to celebrate for early bday celebration and it hit the surprises. The chef had experience of 13 years. I would definitely visit here again. It was so good!!!Every piece was so fresh and delicious! :)

We went for a birthday dinner and was so delighted by the wonderful service that we received. It was a third day of their opening in the upper west side and so they gave us a complementary piece of sushi (Wagyu, scallop, and truffle). Since it was my birthday, they surprised me with an extra hand roll. The sushi chef was very attentive and it was a calm environment to eat at. Interestingly enough, the layout is almost the same as their restaurant on 28th St. *13 pieces for $58

Very rarely do I give a 5 stars but after coming here, I felt compelled to do so. I've done some research before deciding on this place. Having never been to an omakase place, it was important to read other people's reviews and also factor in the price value. Honestly, 13 course for $58 is an absolute treat. Walking into the restaurant, there are two separate dining rooms which make sense as they space out the seating times. After sitting down, we were told of what the menu entails which is nice to see. The chef asks if we have any allergy and we did mentioned our son can only take a tad of wasabi so he remembered throughout the meal to apply just a tad of wasabi for his pieces only. The rice is just the perfect size and room temperature, whereas the fish are absolutely fresh and portion wise was generous. The fish to rice ratio were spot on. In no way did we felt the fish slices were too thin. The precision and prep work to make each sushi was meticulous and they know just how much soy sauce to apply on each pieces. Some of our favorites were on the menu like uni, scallop, toro, sweet shrimp to name a few. Separately, my wife ordered a wagyu scallop truffle sushi for $20 and wow, she savored every lick of it. The chef even made a complimentary sushi for my son giving his upcoming birthday and even put a candle on top. In no way did we feel the chef was pushing out the orders too fast and everything was perfectly paced. Also if you finish your portion of ginger, the chef refills it automatically. All in all, tremendous experience and would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried omakase before and want the best bang for their buck.

So happy this opened up in the UWS! The beautiful interior is a compliment to the amazing food. 58 for a 13 course meal is quite a steal. We particularly liked the toro with truffle and uni. Our chef, Tony, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Make a stop through here when you get a chance!

Omakase (13 courses) for $58?! Yes please. Super fresh, super melt-in-your-mouth. Great with food allergies (I didn't say I was gluten or dairy-free, but it would have been easily accommodated). Very basic little (24 seat) place with a fantastic sushi chef. Steve. So nice. Fast. Fun to watch. And really, the food was amazing. The staff was very attentive (refilled my water like 20 times). My ONLY complaint was, what's the deal with the Musak version of, "Staying Alive" on loop for an hour?! OMG. And btw, the whole experience was an hour. So you'll be in/out. We'll be back! Must make reservations and be ON TIME. Or they charge you if you don't show up.
