Tropical Taste

I stumbled on this hidden gem late night and decided just to get small bite on the go. Looking at all the available food left I got a beef and a chicken patty. I tell you this was one of the best beef and chicken parties I ever had. The pastry crust was made to perfection crispy and super tasty. I ended up eating them so quickly not realizing I didn't even take a picture of any of them. There was also other food left but just ended up getting these 2 things. I will definitely make a trip here to check out rest of the stuff during the lunch hour. The staff here is extremely nice and I chatted with the owner I believe Mr. Leon who is a real nice guy and beyond very helpful. Definitely recommend to try this place!

so far I've heard the people working they are rude but it was my first time and I came in the morning and i had the ackee and salt fish and I must say yes it was missing a little bit of salt but besides that I will say go early if you want fresh food along with great service but if not you're bound to taste leftover food be so make sure you ask what's in it /the price before ordering that way to avoid any miscommunication or attitude from both parties

The food was delicious. I had fried whiting fish, it was spicy and very flavorful. I also had bbq chicken, it was so tender and sweet. Rice and peas were delicious and so was the coleslaw. This is a very small takeout spot with lots of food variety. Will be back.

I came with my friend to Tropical Taste after he mentioned it to me. It's a takeaway spot near the Pennsylvania Avenue station on the number 3. My friend got the curried goat with rice and beans and the cabbage. I got the stewed chicken with rice and beans and cabbage. The food was really good and he let me try some of his curried goat. I usually eat chicken but I would try the goat next time. The service was good--I'm surprised he didn't mention this place sooner. Anyway, better late than never.

im not sure if this is the right tropic taste but babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy im in love with y'all food where you been at all my adult life please start a cooking class and when I walk in I feel welcomed the omg word can't describe how happy makes me

Well worth the high reviews. The ambiance is awesome. It was good, the portions are great. Really good service too. In terms of the food being 100% delicious - no questions.

I write this review with a heavy heart. This used to be the best place in Brownsville to go get food PERIOD. However, it seems like a lot has changed in recent months. The oxtail went from the best I ever tasted to still stuck on the bone. Today it was mediocre, idk if they changed chefs but the quality has drop significantly. I am writing this hoping that my once favorite restaurant and it's owners see this and do something about it.

Food was really good. Had the curry goat, curry chicken, jerk wings, & oxtail and it all tasted great !
