Trini-Girl

Corn soup is my fave dish from Trinidad next to Doubles. After a nice day at the gym, I decided I owed myself a nice bite to eat. At about 1030am, Trini-Girl was open and serving everything! I ordered two shrimp doubles, walked out and walked right back in. I didn't believe that they were serving corn soup so early but the sidewalk sign said otherwise so I ordered a small container.Trini-Girl is takeout only. My shrimp doubles were good (not great) a wee bit bland. The corn soup was ALMOST perfect. So full of potatoes, dumplings, curry and tasty spices but very little corn. Yes it was a small but there was only one half of a baby ear of corn in my container. I was kinda burnt up about that because I have been a fan of corn soup from Trini-Girl since they were located on the other side of Atlantic Ave. I really would've appreciated a few more corn chunks. Oh well, still enjoyed my food. Of course I'm going back but I will be speaking up about my corn ration!

Probably the worse roti ever . Chicken had no taste and gravy was runny as hell. I ordered pumpkin on the side and I thought they gave me dhal instead . It was so watery and tasteless . Wow

The doubles were very good! The curry vegetables could have been a bit more flavorful, but the roti was well made. The bake and saltfish was okay.

I ordered 5 doubles. 2 goat. 2 chicken and 1 shrimp. I can't even sugar coat how terrible they were. They were disgusting. The dough/flatbread was so chewy and soggy. Goat was tough! Chicken and shrimp that I picked out didn't taste too bad. Not good at all. Wrapped poorly so while being delivered they're leaking. Wrapped in one piece of thin parchment paper. Took a chance and was completely disappointed. Ima stick to hot pot or ali's.

Lord everytime I go to Brooklyn I always end up with a lot of real good trini food. Yesterday service was as always immaculate and the people always so welcoming Kimberly was so nice and pleasant to chat with while I wait for my food

The food looks and the aroma in here smells good. You can see the menu from outside and I seen phoulorie and I had to get me some. 5 for $3.... Most places don't make it anymore or they are sold out. It was just how I remember it. There was no line.

Everything we had was amazing which was impressive. Buss up and bake were done particularly well, made everything better. Tons of flavor in each item, nothing underwhelmed. Even the simple lentil soup was great. Need to return for more of the same, as well as to try the crab and dumpling, the pholourie, and shark here. Service was patient, with both the customers and the manager.

Ok! I would not order here again when I'm at work. This is the second time I placed an Uber over and my food came messy that the driver canceled the order and refunded me my money back. Gave them a second chance and this is how you send food through a delivery service. DOHMH should see this and fine yall. Because this is unsanitary. A staple cost less than $5. This is why mom-and-pop store lose customers because consistency is a crime, I guess. Now I will have Uber refund me my money because you all are not careful with people food orders. Of all things. Get it together!!! As Caribbean people you should have more respect for people food orders

Food on Sunday was very disgusting. Made us sick. This is not good Trinidadian food, please go elsewhere if you want good Trini food. Service was also poor.
