I can't express how much I loved this place!! We went without any reservations on a Saturday evening. The wait was not bad at all - maybe 10 minutes or so, max. Decor was honestly just average, your typical dim-lit restaurant in Ktown, lol. But the FOOD- *chef's kiss*. Between the four of us, we got the soondae (blood sausage in glass noodles), seafood pancake, sotteok sotteok (fried tteotbokki and grilled sausage), gamja tang (pork bone stew), yukgaejang kalguksu (beef and veggie in noodle soup), and the hangover soup. Everything was just perfect. The soondae was not bloody at all (which was my major concern because of the blood sausage), the glass noodles really balanced things out. The sotteok sotteok was my favorite - the fried tteotbokki was such an interesting texture, and the relish and sauce on top of it was the perfect tang. The stews and noodle soup were everything - spicy and rich and filled with that umami taste of a bone broth that's been simmered for ages. And, to top things off, the staff that was working that night was just the undeniable cherry on top. Everyone was so attentive that they noticed any issue we may have had and provided a solution before we even thought to ask. They were so friendly and personable and seemed to whiz around in a way that speaks to efficiency but didn't lack in sociability at all. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful spot. Highly recommend.

Didn't know about this delicious Korean spot until I found it myself on Yelp! Upon entering, I loved the ambiance of the place and it was quite busy considering it was a Monday evening. They had a wide selection of stews, which is pretty hard to find in my opinion. I ordered the Galbi jjim and kimchi jjigae, which were so so yummy. Since it was cold outside, this meal perfectly warmed me up and the spice was perfect to my palette. I do wish that they gave more side dishes considering the price of the meal, but not a big deal. Our server was very nice and made sure to help us whenever it was needed. She checked up on us numerous times, which I appreciated. Overall, I think I will be back to try their other food items, especially when I'm in the area.Food: 5/5Service: 5/5Ambiance: 5/5

[Rounded up from 4.5]: absolutely delicious and (possibly) very authentic Korean spot! My friends and I stopped by for dinner on a weekend, so there was a bit of a wait. We decided to share the Jokbal, and I got the Yukgaejang Kalguksu for my main. The Jokbal was so tender and worked beautifully with the sauce. The Yukgaejang Kalguksu was also so hearty, filled with tender braised beef and veggies. And the hand cut noodles were so springy and worked perfectly with the flavorful broth. Surprisingly, the standout for me was the kimchi banchan - specifically the daikon radish one. Just so crunchy and beautifully tart and sweet. All in all, we had a great experience - fantastic food with friendly staff. We are certainly eager to visit again!

we ended up at Tosokchon on our first sunday service in the area, which was a perfect option given the cold winter weather. i can never say no to a bowl of sujebi when i see it on the menu. for $19, you get a huge portion that's honestly big enough for two. the firmness of each noodle was perfect, and the soup was quite flavorful because of the clams. my only complaints are that the clams do have a lot of sand / grit (also be careful of the broken shells) and that, because the bowl is so big, the soup got cold fairly quickly. the menu is quite extensive, so I would definitely consider returning for some of their other soup options!

I went recently and got a few dishes to share. I got the rose tteokbeoki, bulgogi, and the mul naengmyun. To be honest, I was slightly disappointed with the rose tteokbeoki. It had a very smoky/bbq taste that I didn't love, but that may be personal preference. In terms of the other dishes, they did not stand out. The food is alright. I still love the ambiance, and they were very attentive.

Came by for lunch. Tosokchon is a newer Korean restaurant off the main drag of ktown. During a weekend lunch the restaurant was very lively but there was no wait. Staff was pretty attentive but generally hands off. There are buttons on the tables to wave them down otherwise they mostly leave you alone. The menu has a big selection of soups. We ordered two thinking they were individual portions but they were HUGE and easily feeds 2-3 people to share. The ramen was savory, and the spicy beef stew came with a lot of protein. My favorite was the seafood pancake that was crispy and stuffed with fillings. Definitely a hidden gem in ktown

I came here for lunch. Tosokchon offers exceptional, authentic Korean comfort food with efficient service and reasonable prices, making it a worthwhile visit. * Samgyetang is praised for its flavorful, nourishing broth, tender chicken, and authentic preparation using fresh ingredients. The restaurant's hanok style and traditional seating enhance the cultural dining experience. I ordered fried pork dumplings, jjaboki, and Gamjatang.

Good food and cozy vibes! Huge range of classic Korean dishes, and portion sizes are huge. The radish kimchi banchan is also one of my faves ever I can't stop eating it. Service is also fast and attentive. The kalguksu is only okay, but the tteokboki and fried rice were both great!

We came here after not being full at a nearby skewer restaurant and were lucky enough to be immediately seated even though the restaurant was busy. It's typical late night eats atmosphere - lots of tables ordering spicy heavy food to go along the high quantity of alcohol they were consuming. We didn't order much:* Jokbal - 9/10: very tender and flavorful meat with all of the parts of the pig trotters; to me was cooked perfectly* Mul Naengmyun - 7/10: not a huge fan of cold noodles, but this was refreshing on a somewhat hot summer nightDefinitely want to come back next time to get the full experience of alcohol and other dishes!

We had a great meal here. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The vibes were super welcoming and the menu was everything I was in the mood for. We ended up ordering the spicy Jokbal and some mul naengmyun to share, and they both hit the spot. The jokbal was saucy and garlicky and tender and the naengmyun was anything but bland. Will definitely return.
