There were 7 of us here for dinner. We got the back table near the wine wall. This is a very cosy little Italian place. Food was delicious, and it was service with a smile. The place can get a little noisy but overall it is a good ambience. But note that they only have one bathroom for the whole restaurant.

I went back again and had a similar great experience. I have wanted that same seafood pasta special for a while (one year since I had it) and the last time I went they didn't have it listed as a special. This time it wasn't listed again so I showed my server a picture. He knew exactly what it was and said "I think we can make that for you, let me check with the chef". And boom, they made it and it was just as great as the first time. The bread service is also good. The burrata appetizer was good, not great but the prosciutto that came with it was excellent. The service was obviously amazing and I will go back again when I'm in town.

We came in for dinner and had a lovely experience. The restaurant is beautiful and service is amazing. One of our waiters had even been there 30 years. You can't find anything better than that. We started with bread and a sun dried tomato oil and it was yummy. I wish the bread had been warm, but that's just a small critique. To drink, I had an aperol spritz and it was perfect. For my entree, I had the Tagliolini Cacio e Pepe. It was lovely. The pasta is fresh, the sauce was rich, and the spinach flavor was strong in the best way. I tried my mom's halibut and it was stunning. I felt like the prices were great and the food portions were a good value. Overall, this place is lovely and I would certainly come back.

We were coming to New York a day early before our cruise and wanted to enjoy a restaurant close to our hotel. We were delighted that we chose Toscana. We had our local nieces and nephew meet us for an early dinner. The restaurant is not very large and offers inside and outside dining. There is a bar area. We had a reservation for 5 people at 5:30 PM - a perfect time as the restaurant filled up shortly after that. It was after all July 4th!We did have to request that they turn down the music twice. (It was our misfortune to be seated right under a speaker.) It was so loud that we could not hear each other across the table. They very kindly turned the music down and we were able to have great conversations. We ordered a bottle of Simi Chardonnay - 2021 Sonoma- a very drinkable and crisp wine. We enjoyed the following: Melanzane alla Parmigiana (baked layers of eggplant, mozzarella, parmesan, tomato topped with basil), Insalata Toscana (arugula salad with pear, walnut, and pecorino cheese) Pollo alla Casseruola (boneless chicken with sausage and peppers), and Piccata di Vitello (veal scaloppini with asparagus in a lemon white wine sauce), My husband had Spaghetti alla Chitarra e gamberi (guitar spaghetti with shrimp and arugula in a light tomato sauce, which was on the spicy side).I was really excited to see that they offered Paglia e Fieno con Panna, Prosciutto e Piselli. This is a dish that brings back wonderful memories of when I lived in Rome. It is dish called straw and hay pasta with prosciutto and peas in cream sauce. It was excellent. The sweet finish to our meals were two chocolate mousse cakes and a Tartufo - enormous portion of vanilla and chocolate ice cream covered in hard chocolate. We all were delighted with our meals - sending compliments to the chef.

Toscana 49 really captures the essence of a cozy Italian trattoria, right in midtown Manhattan. The complimentary bread served with a dipping sauce was a good start. I opted for the house Cabernet, which was nice. For my main course, I chose the Spaghetti Pomodoro and was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the pasta, which I was told was homemade. I also had the chance to try the specialty duck and salmon dishes. My favorite being the duck! While the prices were on the higher side, the quality of the food and the service provided by the staff made it worth it.

I was disappointed by the food at Toscana. My friend and I ordered a main each and drinks. My ravioli was not great, too rich (the butter sauce could have used some lemon/citrus juice to be lighter), and the big grated cheese on top did not make it look super appetizing. I had to ask for extra pepper as the pasta was rich and heavy but not super flavorful and way too salty with the pieces of pancetta in the dish. The wine was fine (I ordered a glass of sancerre which was $20). The salmon looked very good, but if you want carbs you'd have to order a side dish.Fortunate that we sat outside, not under the scaffolding. The ambiance inside is much darker if you want something more intimate. It's also much louder inside. The service was fine. The staff looked overwhelmed, but they were attentive to filling up our glasses with water.Overall, for the price, a bit underwhelmed by the ravioli, which were too salty, too heavy/rich and lacked a citrus or even a bit of tomato to refresh the dish.

I can't believe I ordered spaghetti at a restaurant, but this one was worth it! The ambiance was also good, just be aware the floors are very slippery!

Came here with friends for a weekday dinner - really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was cozy! Service was fast and attentive, only complaint is that the waiter tried really hard to sell more wine to us, which was a bit uncomfortable. Other than that we really enjoyed the food - quality and portion size- and ease of reservation.Food wise I especially recommend this pasta dish - Spaghetti alla Chitarra e gamberi: Guitar Spaghetti with shrimp and arugula in light tomato sauce. It was well seasoned so the flavor was just right, and there were quite a few pieces of shrimp in the dish! Overall I would come again for a great Italian dinner!

Outstanding food and outstanding service at a reasonable price. The homemade pastas are made to perfection. The bass special was a generous portion, very fresh and cooked to perfection.
