Pro-tip: Side dishes are HUGE and they give free refills and it even comes with a big steamed egg for every 2-4 people. Highlights: This place is very unassuming but everything is delicious, it's a great value if you factor in the side dishes, and the service is just so nice. I've never had ginger flavored Korean fried chicken but it's tasty and the wings are huge and juicy. Possibly an unpopular opinion, but I loved how the seafood tofu soup has deshelled shrimp already so it's easy to eat and doesn't take up a ton of volume of the soup. Lowlights: I actually found the hot stone rice bowls to be too crunchy for me. We came in when there was a huge like 40+ high schoolers event so it was super loud and chaotic, but not the restaurants fault.

I've always walked by Tofu Tofu, but never paid too much attention to it since I'm more of a BCD fan. Came for an early lunch recently though, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the banchan and soondubu here! It's so conveniently located in Chinatown too, which makes it nice for those who don't wish to trek uptown for a piping hot bowl of stew.I ordered the mixed soondubu (spicy), and the toppings were quite plentiful. The broth itself was flavorful too, but I wouldn't say that the spiceness quite matched what I was expecting. I would say the spicy level here is almost the equivalent of medium at BCD; extra spicy would probably be best for those who enjoy the spicy level at BCD. 5 banchan dishes were provided - the kimchi and cucumber pickles were my favorite. The only other note I'd add is, I wish they provided the egg to add tableside instead of having it already added to the stew. I usually prefer a more runny yolk, whereas the egg was already pretty cooked by the time it arrived at the table.Pricing is comparable; lunch pricing is super reasonable though. Cash and card are both accepted.

There aren't many good Korean food spots located in Chinatown but Tofu Tofu is one! Aside from classic Korean dishes like soondubu, they also serve korean fried chicken which is a must get!! The chicken always comes out super fresh and is also super juicy. They give you gloves to eat with so you don't dirty your hands!Complimentary banchan is provided although I'm not sure there are refills. They didn't provide any refills when we were done with them but we also didn't request for any. They have combos available as well during lunch hours which make their prices even more affordable. Overall a solid spot for some authentic Korean food!

This restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall gem for cozy, warming relatively affordable Korean classics. If you're craving a steaming tofu stew, this is the place to go.My go-to order is the combo special: a meat/seafood dish plus a tofu stew. You get to select both separately. Galbi is my usual (so flavorful) but the cheese doi ji bulgogi (spicy pork) and the cheese dak gui (spicy chicken) are also delicious if you enjoy a lot of cheese. The tofu stew spiciness is adjustable and I think the medium isn't too bad. The soup is so hearty with the accompanying white rice, perfect for a cold day. You'll also get a nice spread of banchan, including an egg souffle which is piping hot and fluffy. Banchan refills are fast and change depending on what they have in stock. The combo special is a good amount of food overall, and chances are you'll take home leftovers. The servers here are so friendly and prompt. They offer takeout containers and bags and thank you profusely on the way out. The space is no-frills but homey, and even though it can get crowded the noise isn't overpowering. Walk-in only but you can get a table right away most evenings. Looking forward to more visits here!

It's been a while since I've been here, but it's just as tasty! I used to come to this restaurant often and loved to get their tofu soup dishes. This time, I went for another soup dish whose name I can't remember however, I wanted something warm and comforting and this dish did that! I was nervous about the dark redness but it really wasn't too spicy at all! To share, my friends and I had their fried chicken and the bo ssam. The fried chicken came on a huge log and were deliciously fried. All parts of the drum were nicely fried and had a very satisfying crunch for each bite. The amount of sauce on it was nicely balanced too in my option. I also appreciate how they provided a whole box of gloves for them. Back then, the Bo ssam came with lettuce so you could make them into wraps. I do wish they still had that option. Everything else was still there. Now that I've finally gone back, I may start making more visits here when I crave comforting food!

I really enjoyed this place. The Korean BBQ ribs were phenomenal--super tender and flavorful. The ramen was great and really hit the spot. The staff were all super friendly and made us feel at home. Overall, everything was solid. Definitely recommend!

Honestly I thought flavor of the broth for my soon du bu was lacking. It was still delicious but lacked depth. I loved added ramen noodles though. I would come back to try the non soon du bu though, as it seemed most people weren't getting this. Very homey and cute spot!

Absolutely love this place in Chinatown. The hostess/owner/server is so friendly and she always has a smile on her face. I've been here countless of times and all their food is solid, including their side dishes. They have lunch and dinner specials, where you get an entree and a soup together. I love to split this and order additional things. Their food is super affordable and with fast service. There is a lot of seating as well. We ordered their galbi dinner set - which came with a sizzling plate and a seafood tofu soup. It came with a steamed egg and some purple rice as well. We also ordered their steamed pork belly which was delicious. Their fried chicken is amazing. They also give about 5 side dishes and kimchi which is so refreshing, and they will refill it if you ask.

A homey Korean spot with hearty dishes and gigantic portion. We definitely over-ordered but it's worth it. Their banchans included steamed eggs! Other banchans were also fresh and they're super generous with the refills. The Japchae was delicious. I also loved the Tofu Soup with Galbi, super tender meat and silky tofu. The Spicy Pork could have been hotter. Chicken Bibimbap was a bit sweet but they give you so much food and the chicken was tender.Go hungry!

Tofu tofu is one of the only restaurants that offer Korean cuisine in Manhattan's Chinatown. We ordered from their lunch combo menu that includes soondubu with an entree for about $24. We ordered the cheese spicy pork with kimchi pork soondubu, and a stir-fried pork with clam soondubu. The flavors were good and satisfied our cravings. Service was attentive and nice!
