We weren't hungry for a full dinner and our hotel is just around the corner, so we decided to order some steamed dumplings and chicken fried rice. My companion considers himself a dumpling expert, and gives them a 7.1 and commented they were a bit on the small size. I thought the fried rice was very tasty and it was a nice sized portion. We went to pick them up and it's a small place but very clean and decorated extremely nicely. I will definitely try them again for some other dishes.

Authentic cuisine in a cute environment! Hole in the wall place that's apparently been around for generations. The service was excellent and speedy. Not super Americanized, which is a plus in my book. Price is steeper than its competitors, so I would reserve it for a nicer night out in the future.

I went here with a group of friends on a cold rainy day. There were plenty of empty tables, even though we got here around lunch time. We ordered wayyy more food that we could possibly get through because the menu looked delicious and there were so many things to try. I appreciate that the staff helped recommend items for us because we were super indecisive. After we were done eating, we hung out and chatted for an extra hour. I appreciated that we never felt rushed and we could take our time catching up with friends. Overall, the food is fresh, not too greasy, and very comforting on a cold day. I'd particularly recommend the soup dumplings and beef noodle soup.

Picked up a Peking noodles for lunch here and it was solid. The noodles were cooked just right and the meat sauce was flavorful. My only complaint was that the portion size is a little small. Will sample some of their other menu offerings next time.

Found this place on a Google search while in New York. This location is small but a good manageable size. Staff are awesome despite how busy they were. They cater for nut allergies which was perfect. We ordered chicken and pork dumplings which was steamy and juicy. Very flavorful. Also had the veggie fried rice and garlic eggplant which was just yummy. The gravy on the eggplant dish paired SO well with the friend rice. Everything was tasty. I had the left over for breakfast which made my day. The restaurant is very clean and well organized. The ambiance is very homely type. I would go here again.

This feels like a rerun because I could swear I reviewed one of TS' other locations years ago, but I can't find any record of it and my cobwebby brain can't remember anything either. So here we go again. Ain't senility grand? We ordered a ton as a group of 7, sharing everything family-style. Each person ended up owing $38 all included, which is practically free in these inflationary times. Gotta love that. The good:- Osmanthus Salted Duck: Lip-smackingly umami- Shrimp Shumai: Classic and solid- Xiaolong Bao: Also classic and solid- Spring Noodles: Not as laden with veggies as I would've liked, but appropriately savory- Peking Style Minced Pork Noodles: Not my cup of tea, but well made- Wuxi Pork Ribs: Their signature dish and with good reason. Probably the best dish of our batch- Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage and Chili: Generously overfilled with tender fish, but the broth was a bit too oily- Salted Egg Custard Bun: Who doesn't love this for dessert?- Creamy Custard Bun: More custard deliciousness, just not as runnyThe eh: - Cold Bamboo Shoots: Not tossed with chili oil like I like, so no bueno for me- Tofu Tossed with Preserved Egg: Why was this sweet? Why? Eggs should never be sweet!- Pumpkin Cake: Thought this would have runny, yolky custard too, but it was filled with red bean paste instead. Which isn't bad...just not as funThe space is gorg, and the staff were pretty attentive, even giving us some complimentary items when they messed up an order.

Service: 4/5Food: 3.2/5all of the dishes taste sweet to me. small portions proportional to the price. always has plenty of open tables, quick service + staff is nice + grateful. Rice is extra boo. What I Ordered:- Crab Soup Dumplings: on the smaller side, not too oily, can't taste crab- Pan Fried Pork Bao: good ratio of meat to bun, not too oily- Eggplant in Garlic Sauce: sweet + sauce, rice is needed, veggie (peppers, woodear, onions) heavy- Minced Pork Noodles: slightly sweet, decent

We went there on Saturday night. The chef and staff were very friendly. We tasted the famous Xiao long bao, very juicy, fresh, and delicious. Dishes were made with professional quality. We had great time here with tastes of Eastern Chinese cuisine.

Very surprised by the 4+ average rating. In Tipsy Shanghai's defense, the decor + service + pricing are fantastic. However, the food disappoints. We ordered:Braised beef noodle soup: I like my soup broth rich, deep, stewed with meats and spices for hours. This was not that. Very OK noodles, bok choy, and meat slabs.Pan fried pork xiao long bao: While the flavors were fine, these were neither crispy on the outside nor was there any soup on the inside.Green beans w pork: Underseasoned and could be crispier. There were a lot of folks dining on a Thursday night though, so I don't think they need my business.
