The Simpson Restaurant & Bar - BK

I came to this restaurant before a Brooklyn Nets game and now that will be my pre-game ritual. The service was fast, friendly, and accurate. Our waitress (I think her name was Jessica) was so helpful and gave us the best recommendations.All of the food was fresh and delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious. The oxtails, rice and peas, shrimp tacos, and rum punch were my favorites. The coconut shrimp and ackee were good too. I got a tequila drink that I loved but I forgot the name.This is a great restaurant and I will absolutely be back.

Overall great ambiance with a Caribbean vibe. You can enjoy your birthday here or even just come to eat a delicious meal while watching sports.Make sure to arrive early as peak hours get busy for table service. You can always sneak into the bar stool area for a more engaged atmosphere and surround view.

I've been to this location once and the one in Atlantic City and those times were amazing. But this last trip was disappointing and had I not been here before I would've gave a 3 star. However the staff are very friendly and professional, they check in on you often. The restaurant also still looks really nice and definitely really clean. This time around I got bourbon ribs and the half baked potato. The ribs weren't anything to wow about and my potato had no flavor and felt like the cheese was just burnt on top of it. The portion size was great for the cost but after a while of eating the ribs, it didn't taste good anymore and I disregarded the potato after a few bites. I'm assuming it would've been better if I got it on a weekend. I'd recommend trying them out on the weekend or knowing exactly what to order through reviews, like the oxtail with Rasta pasta.

I was first here when they opened during Covid and hadn't been back . The food is good . Had the oxtails which could stand to have more gravy. The rice and peas were good . The vegetables were ok . Good vibe , was a bit loud staff was friendly but waited a while for a waiter to come take our order . All parties must be there before seating and I made reservations .

Lobster loving it! I have been here a couple of times and always sit at the bar. I have a go to bartender who always makes my drinks the strongest and sweetest guy and staff ever. The coconut curry lobster is my go to. It never disappoints but nevertheless nothing ever disappoints at this place. I also enjoy their rice and veggies that always taste freshly made and comes out piping hot. Have not had a bad experience here yet.

Came here on a whim and they did not fail when it comes to the Caribbean flavor and taste. It was packed on a Sunday evening, but still had enough seating for walk-ins. A fine dining taste with a sports bar vibe is how I would describe my experience. The autheticity was definitely there. I had the brown stew fish and my mom had the oxtail. Firstly the fish was nicely flavored/cooked and the veggies were sautéed perfectly. The oxtail was a little fatty but super tender. I could not help but suck the juices from the bone. An honorable mention is the rice and peas. No hard rice in sight. Lastly the bartenders are phenomenal because the drinks were soooo good. I recommend the bob marley and the guava lemondae w/mint. I got the virgin for the lemonade but would def get a little alcohol with it next time. This is a restaurant you can come back to over and over and have a different experience/time. The food was a slight wait and service was very kind. I do recommend them getting brand new menus that have the resturant name engraved. Its a small touch to match the food's elegance.

I came here to celebrate my MIL 70th Birthday. We came as a party of 7 with a reservation. Upon arrival we were greeted by the security up front and the was told to wait while some assisted us. We were seated shortly after, even with 1 person in our party missing. I love the laid back, chill ambiance. It wasn't too loud and the music they played was a mixed of old R&B and reggae. Our server was Nickell and he was great in the beginning but once we had several things going on as far as alcoholic drinks and appetizers he took long to get back to us each time and failed to check in often. I had to ask him for another drink each time because he didn't ask to see if we wanted anymore drinks and our cups were empty. Regardless of how slow his service appeared to be he was still tipped nicely based off our generosity of gratuity to him. Gratuity is only added to parties of 8 or more which we didn't have, so we gave him a very generous tip. Our final bill was $493 without gratuity so I feel service should've been a bit more better. When asked if someone in our dinner can order their own separate dinner to go on a different bill Nickell told me "No" I was actually shocked that he wouldn't allow me to do that. It made zero sense on why my party couldn't do that. I had to go online and order their food thru Grubhub to go home with. This is additional food they wanted. Not the food they ordered while dinning with me. They loved it so much they wanted to order for home as well but our server refused to let them. They lose a star for that. Everything was fresh and amazing as far as the food goes. I literally have zero complaints. I loved everything about it all. I had the opportunity to try some of everything. Curry goat, honey curry wings, veggie rolls, rice, veggies, jerk chicken, oxtails etc.....The flavors are absolutely phenomenal. All the food was well seasoned with a spicy kick to it. It did take a while for all of our food to come out but nonetheless it was worth the wait. Also, I want to note that the busboys really get the empty plates/cups cleared up quickly so I felt inclined to tip them as well. I've never had someone so on top of our table making sure it was clear and cleaned the entire time without intruding on our meal. Great job! I would definitely come here again.

They advertise a fusion of classic American and Southern Soul food with that Caribbean flair and they deliver. You get that family owned, comfort food feel in a cozy, trendy bar / restaurant. A bit pricey but ultimately worth it with the well cooked food and perfectly crafted drinks. Oxtail to fried chicken to pina coladas to bourbon on the rocks. This place nails it every time. The booths are big. The bar is wide and fully stocked. The back has plenty of seating. The staff are friendly and professional. The toughest part is parking. Once you accomplish the parking, the rest is easy.

Well, I have tried this restaurant twice and this was the second time. So the first time I went we sat in the dining room area and it gave me a old vibe so this time we decided to sit at the bar which seem to have a more up to date style. As for the food it was not the best for me. I have had better Jamaican dishes within Brooklyn. The service was okay it was the bar area and I found myself always having to ask for something instead of them checking in to see if I needed anything. Think a big difference when it comes to great customer service. As for me I will probably not try this restaurant in the future but that's my opinion. Please check them out so that you can place your own opinion.
