One of the best tapas restaurants I've had anywhere in NYC and a diamond in the rough for the Times Square.l area. Highly recommend coming here before or after broadway shows or any time you're craving Italian and Spanish tapas with a very nice selection of wine. Friendly attentive service and very nice warm atmosphere. Happy hour 4-6 PM

Stumbled into this wine bar one day - cute, unpretentious place with rather eccentric giraffe decorIf you like mushrooms, you have to get the Wild Mushroom Bruschetta -- so much umami delicious goodness on top of perfectly toasted bread!

A very cute and cozy spot great for a pre-theater bite. Dining here was a great start to our weekend. We enjoyed the kale salad with apples (not poached despite how the menu reads), cashews, and a sherry vinaigrette. It's not often I rave about a salad but this one was excellent. The meatballs were tasty and the pasta was light and cooked al dente. All three dishes were quite good and ample for us to share. Our server was friendly and helpful, checking in to see if we needed anything. Overall a lovely spot.

Meet owner right when I walked in and he was very welcoming. The restaurant was beautiful and loved the low lighting gave intimate yet cozy. You can definitely dress or be a bit casual. The owner Peter was very accommodating and understanding of me not wanting to drink any alcohol. He was able to go to the store and grab a non-alcoholic beverage. I mean going over and beyond is amazing customer service. Now let's into the food... that Wild Mushroom Bruschetta (no cheese) absolutely delectable. I could've eaten this multiple times over for dinner it was so good! Then I also had the Roasted Cauliflower Steak which was so tender and flavorful. The whole experience was divine! Can't wait to go back, thank you for a wonderful!

came here on a Friday for Happy Hour. I walked in a week ago to ask to reserve a table for our group of 6 for happy hour, and they put me on Resy and told me that they reserved the couch for me. When I arrive on the day, they told me that they dont allow reservation for Happy Hour, I argued that they told me that i can have the couch and it was reserved. then they told me that the other waiter made the mistake, but it was on Resy for the whole week no one contacted me. in the end we had to sit outside because my couch was taken. it was a cold day, after 30mins we saw the couch empty so we moved inside after. It was a very unpleasant experience that they made a mistake but I had to take the hit. the food are mediocre and the happy hour menu definitely got smaller than people posted from before, not many choices for food or drinks. The owner was super nice, but i wish the other servers can step up their games. not my choice to come back again.

The service and staff were the highlight of the meal. The interior is clean and chic. The food was very good. We got the octopus and burrata to start, which was refreshing. We also got the cappellacci and veal ragu for mains, which was tasty. I'd love to go back and try the brunch menu!

My friend and I went to the Purple Tongue for drinks and while it was pretty quiet for a Thursday we were impressed with the incredibly friendly service on the part of the owner/manager and the broad selection of wines from around the world. This isn't your average wine list. Not all of the wines are "upscale" but the list is seemingly curated carefully. The staff were only too happy to sample different wines for us.The decor is modern and refined, I would definitely go a bit earlier in the evening or for dinner next time to try the food.

Enjoyed our first visit to The Purple Tongue. The decor, music, and vibe was very interesting- something much different from a traditional casual or fine dining experience. They had a simple yet upscale menu with plenty of drink pairing options.Our group enjoyed a number of appetizers (the favorites were the burrata and the meatballs) and mains to share (the favorites were the grilled octopus and the grilled salmon). Would definitely give this spot another try next time we're in the neighborhood.Appreciate the friendly staff for providing recommendations and speedy service!

Best short ribs I ever had! They were on a bed of mashed Yukon gold potatoes. The gravy was awesome and there definitely was no msg additive in it because I'm very sensitive to that. This is real food!!!I also highly recommend the endive salad. That day they also had a special chili that we all shared.This wine bar has a lovely atmosphere with beautiful oil paintings on the walls. Very attentive service. The ceramic plates and bowls used were unusual and artful. I was happy to find an inexpensive parking lot very close at 520 W 43rd Street that I prepaid with Spothero.
