The Original Sal's may not be the best NY pizza you will find in Ridgewood, but it is not a pizza to be discounted either! A small pizzeria that has a great crust, quality meats, and a nice sauce makes for a good NY pie. Sal's also has a great knish for those who have an appreciation for it!

Been in and out of here for the last 28 years I have been in the neighborhood, always jumping in for a slice when walking down Myrtle Ave. - never had a bad slice - unsure they offer delivery (last time I asked years ago it was no) but this is great place to get good slice, tasty, perfectly cooked- crispy but chewy, tasty sauce, lots of cheese. Need a quick bite good place to get a slice if near by.

Sal's is just your classic NY pizza joint. I go for a classic cheese slice or pie and you can't lose.

Wow, The Original Sal's Pizza was truly phenomenal. It's amazing and everyone who works here seems like they are really proud of it. Pretty much every menu item that we have purchased was incredibly fresh and yummy. The team is super helpful too. I 'd like to try The Original Sal's Pizza again.

So this is the authentic New York Slice I have been looking for all my life? Heard so much about you. Nice to finally meet you. Large, fresh, good and cheesy are the adjectives used to describe this piece of pie. I have eaten pizza all of my life and have tried NY Style pizzas from many cities. I thought papa johns was good pizza. LOL! Sorry, that was funny. This one slice had me wanting more and more. It was great! I added sausage to my slice. It was a sausage link thinly sliced. My only regret is that I only got one slice and never made it back before leaving town. The garlic knots are way too garlicy though. Relax with the shaker. I'm walking over here (use your ny accent). They are a popular option though. A cop came in and purchased a couple of bags. The Original Sal's. Reminds me of Spike Lee's "Doing the Right Thing" movie. Now that's good pizza.

Ordered a Sicilian Pizza. Got a flat, uncooked and tasteless pie with no sauce. All we could taste was the uncooked yeast. Never again for this trash establishment.

I came here with my boyfriend because we were in the area and the Yelp reviews were mostly positive. The atmosphere is a simple, old school pizzeria, with yellow benches and wood tables. Reminded me of my childhood. We approached the display case and were quickly disappointed by the pizza. Aside from a fresh Sicilian pie, there were scattered pieces of specialty pizzas, all extremely dated and stale in appearance. There were no two slices alike, and it looked like the pizza had been refrigerated and put out for days, over and over again. There was a display case below the pizza that had chicken rolls, calzones, etc. Since the pizza looked so awful, we decided to split a calzone and a chicken roll.At that point, the woman behind the counter pulled the items from the display case and, instead of putting the items in the nice oven behind her, she nuked them! When the food was ready, we sat down to eat. The calzone was about half the size of what you'd expect to find in another restaurant. It was thin, had hardly any cheese inside, was bland, save for some salt, and was essentially a notch above a hot pocket. In addition, the crust was chewy and tough because of the microwave treatment. The chicken roll, to be fair, was a bit better, more average than anything. We left hungry and disappointed. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

So I order there today the pizza is very soggy, crust is not crispy, the sauce was bland, the owner thinks it's quality pizza when it's worse then any dollar slice but he charges $3+ for a slice. He wears a dirty shirt that looks like it has NOT been washed since pre Covid and it would be ok but then he is also very rude and argumentative. Will not eat from here again.Unless you like bad experiences and bad soggy pizza that bland avoid this place

I came to this place just because I wanted to try a different spot that wasn't Joe and John's hoping that it would be less expensive but for one regular slice and one barbecue slice it cost $8.25 also, they either take cash or Zelle or Venmo, which is inconvenient since I had my card and it took about 10 minutes to finally get my food when there was nobody else in the shop So I won't be coming back definitely do not recommend

United Xtreme Martial Arts has been a customer of The Original Sal's Pizza for several years. Today we purchased 7 large pies and when a parent went to ask for plates, the owner said, we should go to the 99 cents store and buy plates. Then a senior staff member goes to the pizzeria and tries to speak with the owner, the owner tells him to get the FUXK out of here, after the senior staff asked for paper plates since we purchased 7 large pies.
