Dare I say this is better than Dirt Candy?! Every course felt like an ode to the simplicity of fresh vegetables with unique flavor pairings. I can honestly say I went in thinking I wouldn't like the cabbage entrée but wow, that's how cabbage done right. My favorite was the Delicata squash because it comes with a spicy purée in the middle and with pomegranate seeds to balance the spice. The only thing that was lacking imo was the dessert. Vegan cheesecake is hard to pull off. The cheesecake definitely needed a proper crust. Other important notes were the attention to detail. They offered complimentary coat check and a box of petit fours. The meal was paced so perfectly over the 2 hours we spent.

Really great food. And honestly, you get pretty great value for the food which makes any criticisms feel a little more acceptable. At least it's priced in!Musket Room presents itself as a prix fixe tasting menu restaurant. And the food is as creative, interesting, and delicious as such a restaurant should be.The service is pretty great as well. The waitstaff is personable and excited to serve you. But, perhaps there's not enough of them? They aren't as present or as attentive as would complete what feels like Musket Rooms vision of itself as a truly superlative restaurant. I find the decor similarly lacking. The interior presents itself well, but there is a difference between a great restaurant with a great a la carte menu and a "tasting menu" restaurant. And sitting in Musket Room either waiting for the waiter to drop your next course or wondering why they dropped it so quickly you can't help but feel you're in a merely "good a la carte restaurant" as you look at the decor and feel the stiffness of your seat.Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone. But there's probably a reason you can get a table at short notice.

Step aside everyone elseAs someone who's very passionate about fine dining, I often get asked what the best "deal" in nyc is for a solid tasting menu Without a shred of doubt, Musket Room has the most incredible deal out of any high end place I've eaten in the city. I booked a reservation for one right near my birthday to try this place for the first time. After finishing multiple infused vodka carafes at my mainstays (Mari Vanna and RVR), my friend wanted to join me. We have tried to do fine dining escapades before but it has never worked. I swear we are cursed. The last time we tried this, he ended up throwing up in a 1* bathroom, my phone died, and we met up after I got the four course prix fixe to go in a state of egregious vexation. I called them and they immediately accommodated my last minute request for an extra diner. The Musket Room was truly a symphony of flavors. Every course on their $125 tasting menu delivered a memorable punch to the palate. The true standouts to me were the caviar course (the citrus herbal elements took this to a level I could hardly fathom), the tuna and pear crudo (I USED to think crudos on tasting menus were lazy until I experienced the absolutely blissful combo of Tuna, pear, and dill here), the pork jowl (as someone who moved to Atlanta 3 years ago, I'm shocked they delivered perfectly executed southern BBQ and grits here), and the dessert croque-Monsieur (I thought I was going to hate it, but I seriously would shove these down my throat every waking second if given the chance). If you read through that horrible run on sentence, then you know Musket Room is worth it. And you SHOULD go.

Located in Greenwich Village this restaurant is easily accessible by metro, bus, taxi, etc. Do not recommend driving yourself or parking or wine pairing! We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. We had a reservation, which is highly recommended for this restaurant with both Michelin and James Beard recognition.Appreciate the fact that the dress code was relaxed in the extremely hot weather so that my husband could wear dress shorts in lieu of pants. Enjoyed every course of our tasting menu immensely. Particularly, the foam cauliflower soup, which was extraordinary and surprising. Anchovy butter served with sourdough bread was a nice twist. Would've appreciated a little bit more explanation of our food as they were so exquisitely and delicately prepared. The wine pairing was fun, different and very well done. Honestly, not sure that the pasta add on was good value for the money. The Wagyu option extra was definitely worth it.Enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend to anyone that appreciates high quality in their food and service.

A wonderful spot that provides a fantastic Vegan tasting menu and an omnivore option for those who are not of the same palate. This is a review of the tasting menu for Omnivore $145 and iberico pork supplement for $18 (4/5)Honestly, the white asparagus ALONE could have made this place a 5/5 because those are some phenomenal veggies. Texture, plating, and each bite being a new surprise was an EXPERIENCE. Service is on-point, they always made sure we were okay and refilled accordingly even without being asked. Exquisite Service for sure. (5/5)Other than that this is probably one of the best Vegetarian tasting menus that a person can get as Musket Room is making strides. A point taken down because the casual atmosphere brought some really loud guest that took away from appreciating the environment or food as a nice date spot. Some of the food also did not really hit like the halibut or potato cauliflower. Can't say I was the biggest fan of them. If you do get the garden (It is a rule that you MUST be punctual, it would be an EASY 5/5. It looks beautiful and most likely out of the way from all the noise) The Musket room is absolutely worth the visit for Vegans specifically and for those willing to give Vegan tasting menus a try as the Omnivore gives you the best of both worlds. P.S. The bathroom is great. No complaints. It is very clean and you honestly feel rude messing it up.

My date and I found the ambiance to be exceptional. The customer service was sublime, and I will surely be coming back here!My top favorites from their vegan menu were the Trio of Canapés: Seaweed Caviar with Ramp and Cucumber, and the Carrot with Spring Garlic, Tofu & Celtuce. They paired beautifully with DOMAINE BELLEGARDE, MANSENG BLEND, 'PIERRE BLANCHE' Jurançon, France 2022, and MARKUS MOLITOR, RIESLING, HIMMELREICH, SPÄTLESE Mosel, Germany 2018.

Celebrated Valentines Day here, and got to experience the Musket Room x Salt&Straw menu. We were really impressed how they were able to weave in the ice cream/sweet aspect into all the dishes. The cocktail I got had sorbet inside which was cute, but definitely too sweet for me. The food was perfect though, we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Service was great and the sommelier was so nice.

Simply amazing! We had the omnivore tasting menu with the following three add ons: Kristal Caviar Service with Crème Fraîche, Egg Confit & Japanese Milk Bread $115Jamón Ibérico with Smoked Mussels, Potato & Saffron $18Potato Gnocchi with Morels, Pistachio & Loroco $28The flavors in the dishes from the tasting menu were fantastic. They felt very heavy and rich. We also enjoyed the add ons. The milk bread and crème fraiche really brought out the caviar flavors! The service was fantastic too.

Visited again for a la carte service. Our server again was amazing. We decided to get the bread and spreads. I really enjoyed the anchovy butter, the ricotta spread. The chicken liver mousse spread was flavorful, but not my favorite. We ordered another round of bread ($6) that came with more anchovy butter and it was definitely not wasted! Yum! Hamachi crudo - fresh, but again, if you go to sushi / omakase resturants, it is not something uniqueRabbit - interesting presentation, tasted like very soft chicken Wagyu - cooked wellSalmon - this was recommended by the server. I usually don't order fish because I make pretty good fish at home just by baking. However, this was the best dish out of all of them. And we used bread to dip into the sauce ::chef's kiss::Espresso martini - WOW, got this last time and got it again.Always a great place for dinner and cocktails.

I brought my best friend for her 30th birthday and the food and service are IMPECABLE. My friend and I were absolutely obsessed with the anchovy butter alone, and the dishes only got better and better from there. I'm not someone who gets to participate in fine dining often, and this was such a fun experience that made me feel a little adventurous!
