Truly one of the best food and service experiences Ive had in a while. I feel like sometimes in NYC everything is so meh but as soon as we sat down, everything was great! We sat outside on the patio too which was so nice and quiet. And honestly the perfect amount of light at the table even those the patio itself was dark, I never felt like it was too dark. First one guy came over to discuss the wine list and then gave us an awesome recommendation for a bottle. He had such a lovely fun energy about him, he just made the evening start off fun. Our waiter was already great and we never felt rushed, they really let us just enjoy ourselves. Then we started with the steak tartar and the baguette with butter. Let me say they do NOT skimp on the steak tartar and gave us even two little spoons to scoop it. There is only 3 slices of bread so I'm glad we got the baguette too but they did accommodate us with more bread later to finish the butter. Then we split the burger and the pasta which doesn't say pasta on the menu but it's the parmesan broth thing. SO good and my friend said the burger was one of the best she's had. It really was delicious. We live in NJ and Brooklyn but FYC is my new go to spot in Manhattan! I can't wait to come back.

Lots of great suggestions from the bartender on drinks (we didn't have food), tried an interesting US chardonnay from Virginia. Fun staff and knowledgeable about their drinks.Thin bar and back has more space with opening to outside between the buildings.Didn't try the food this time, but will have to come back again!

I was so excited to discover that someone had finally come into the old Petite Abeille space! I think FYC NYC bears a ton of potential, but didn't quite stick the landing during our evening repast. There's a lot that's going right here. The space is beautiful, the front-of-house staff are delightful, and the concept is on point. I'm not sure if they're going for a heavily queer-coded vibe, but that's what I picked up on, and I am here for it!Our server did mention that they'd recently opened and were taking advantage of the slower summer months to soft launch, which makes a ton of sense to me. I'm hoping that they'll be able to dial the bar and kitchen in before we make our way back around again.Drink-wise, I recall thinking their cocktail list was pretty slim and leaned heavily toward clear spirits. Whatever we ended up ordering was pretty forgettable, which doesn't mean much in a city teeming with truly exceptional craft cocktails. I see other reviewers raving about their wine list, so future diners might be better off sticking to the vino.Food started off pretty strong with an excellent bone marrow. The portion was generous, and the ratio of marrow to crostini was bang on. Sadly, everything else underwhelmed from there. The chianti braised veal shank tacos fell flat (I will admit to having high standards here, because I've been making sous vide carnitas tacos for the past several years), the blackpink mushrooms were soggy (and I luuuuuurve me some hen-of-the-woods), and the sole en papillote was so heavily oversalted that I felt obligated to mention it to our server. At nearly $40, I was taken aback that an ostensibly straightforward fish dish would be off the mark.Broadly, we had a pleasant dining experience, but I can't authentically give a rave review when the food was merely okay -- especially at the price point. NYC (and, especially, Manhattan) offers far too many outstanding eateries to stay afloat on just acceptable cuisine. Crossing my fingers that our experience was the unfortunate edge case, because I'd love to see FYC thrive!

Great food and fantastic service. The ambiance was very mellow and we will be back once the heaters are set up on the patio!

I chose this place for my first meal in NYC after poring over many menus, and was mostly captivated by the "blackpink shrooms" menu item which had hen of the woods mushrooms. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Monday evening -- there were only two other parties there while we dined. The service was great and the ambience was elegant and pleasant. There was one standout dish, and a couple that I thought could be improved.Great, would get again- Wild sole en papillote ($39): This dish was amazing, no notes. The fish is perfectly tender and flavorful, the sliced potatoes underneath are vanishingly thin and melt in your mouth, and the charred lemon adds a nice zing. I'm inspired to eat more sole.Good, might get again- Scallop crudo ($21): This dish had great flavor, though maybe was missing a crunchy element.- Mushroom tacos ($19): The mushrooms were very well seasoned and cooked. This would be great for a vegetarian mushroom lover.Wouldn't get again- FYC wagyu burger ($29): While this dish had good flavor, the patty was rather tough and lean, which was unexpected for a supposedly wagyu burger.- Parmigiano broth with riccia ($25): Based on the menu description I had no idea this was a pasta dish. It was very mild in flavor, and tasted like cheese water (though perhaps I should've expected that from a "parmesan broth".- Spring beans with crispy prosciutto ($10): The prosciutto was nice but the string beans had very little flavor and were rather crunchy.- Blackpink shrooms ($12): Unfortunately the dish that got me to come to the restaurant fell short of my expectations. No flavor in the mushrooms (which was surprising given how flavorful the mushroom tacos were!).Overall I loved the sole fillet, but most of the other items didn't wow me. The cocktails are on the drier side, so the bartender made us a custom hibiscus drink that was pretty good, which we appreciated. I probably wouldn't come back here, but I'm glad I tried it!

this cocktail bar and restaurant just opened and it's an adorable spot with a killer wine selection, amazing cocktails, wonderful food, and truly kind staff. to drink i got the Girls on Film, kind of their take on a Sptriz, which was super refreshing and totally unique! the wine selection was the most impressive to me. they have stuff from ALL over the world and some really cool stuff i hadn't heard of. so id recommend if you're looking for some cool wine! the food menu is super fresh and really unique too!they also offer a tasting menu for $105, which is 4 courses that the chef picks. looked like an incredible deal to me as all the food looked great and the staff is really great so you know they will pick great stuff for you. beautiful inside and they have an stunning patio outback. great for date night or to stop by with some friends for snacks and wine!

I spied Steak Tartare on the menu...it was one of the best version I've ever had. Pomme frites w/ lemon aoili were a perfect accompianment. A glass of Aglianico was sublime. Service was relaxed yet just right. My husband had the Wagyu burger--he said it was good not great. I can't wait to go back & try some other dishes. The only down side....when I looked at their menu online, no prices were listed and almost decided not to try it but one reviewer mentioned it wasn't too expensive.

We loved our experience at FYC/NYC. The food was fantastic. The service was exceptional. There is a fun vibe in the restaurant thanks to the staff and the well-curated dining room. The meatballs are a true standout and a dish I'd get every time. The parm pasta was excellent and the mushroom tacos are filled with umami. Those are mushroom tacos for meat eaters too. The chicken was moist and the sole in papillote was buttery. The cocktails are a must here as well. Perfectly crafted and classy. Look forward to going back here!
