The Elgin

Went here for lunch during the week for the first time and we were very impressed. The place is pretty, the staff is attentive and the food did not disappoint. We had their special match cocktail which was so good, the French onion soup and the butternut squash soup (which at first threw me off as I was expecting something a bit sweeter but it was more in the earthier side. Still very delicious).Shared their tuna nachos between two people and it was the perfect amount for both. Highly recommended.

My friend and I got a drink at the bar. The space is pretty classy without being pretentious. Gotta love the use of wood.The space is chill, and the music hit the note.The bartender wasn't pushy, though I would have liked some water refills.The Manhattan was good ($18). I'd come back for a drink, for sure.

The French dip with fries had great flavor. Also tried the French onion soup burger that tased amazing. Liked the old-timey vibe of the restaurant. Our server was alright, she filled drinks as needed and brought cocktails quickly. Don't waste your time on the truffle fries. Not worth it in my opinion.

I did not eat here so this is just based on sitting at the bar for a quick drink. The overall inside is very quaint and cozy. It does get pretty crowded so if you don't get there early enough (pre 5pm) it is hard to get a seat.The only negative thing I have to say is the bartender was not attentive. My drink was done and I would have gotten a second if they were paying attention

Service was okay. The restaurant it self is cozy and has comfy booths. Food was brought to us extremely fast which was concerning.The sirloin sliders were very good and the caramelized onions added great flavor. Also got the vodka pizza, nothing special and way too many flavors at once. Tasted like a frozen pizza you get at the supermarket. Steamed bao buns were salty. Overall I do not recommend this restaurant, you can definitely find something much better and for the same price.

My family came to this bar after a broadway show. We made a reservation. The staff was professional and accommodating. They sat us in a quiet area upstairs with ample room for all 7 of us. The downstairs was a little more crowded and loud but nothing unmanageable. The food was delicious! We had an assortment of appetizers to split. They were all good portions. If I only had to get one thing it would be the tuna poke nachos they were so yummy. We all got drinks like beers, wine and cocktails. They were all good pours. The cocktail was their spicy marg and it was actually spicy with a good kick and nice cooling cucumber taste. Overall we had a great meal! The decor inside was a nice extra touch, so cute at Christmas and holiday time. There is something for everyone on the menu- my whole family was happy. Not dying to come back here but would definitely make it an option for future

Made. Reservation here for a girls lunch and was not disappointed. We wanted someplace close to the tree, and someplace festive, and this did not disappoint on all points. Beautiful space, plenty of room, and not super loudService was stellar, even though we were tapping and barely able to make decisions :) We ordered some of the special cocktails (had their version of an old fashioned, it was quite good!!) my friend did a non alcoholic drink with passion fruit and had them add tequila, and it was outstanding! We ordered the turkey sandwich which was delicious and the tuna nachos, which I thought were really good. A nice change and great flavors from regular nachos! Prices were great, never felt rushed and just a really enjoyable time!

5-star ambiance, drinks, and food. Super cute and quaint. Cozy, even. Large bar which provides for walk-in availability. I loved the mocktail options and vodka pasta. The French onion had more of a beef flavor than would be preferred, especially for the price tag. My husband loved the duck bao buns and French onion burger! The downside to our experience was that we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated despite having arrived early. Otherwise, probably would have been 5 stars aside from the soup! :)

Stopped into this spot before a show to catch the end of the UConn game yesterday. Friendly bartender and there were outlets at the bar to charge your phone, which was super convenient. I wanted something light before a big dinner later so I gave the French Onion soup a go. It was delicious! Much heavier than anticipated, but the Gruyere cheese made this a stand out. Loved the flavor of the broth. My partner got the buffalo wings and he loved them. Would definitely be back for a drink and an app some time in the future!

Great food, cozy atmosphere, excellent service! It was a crazy day in NYC, 2 days after Christmas, and the restaurant was busy. But we got a large booth and were able to escape the bustle. I had the Elgin chopped salad which was truly delicious. My niece had the pizza which she liked (but imo it's not the place I'd get pizza in nyc!) My brother had a burger and it was really good. Would def come back!!
