A friend and I arrived just about a hour and a half before closing. It was a Thursday night and TheBoil was nearly empty. I found that rather odd because the avenue was full of people and every other bar and restaurant seemed to have more of a crowd. Our server was kind and he seated us immediately. We ordered two seafood boils, frozen Margaritas and a crab cake appetizer for me. Crab cake was tasty. The accompanying Cajun fries were excellent. My seafood boil was good and spicy but again, only one piece of corn cob. This keeps happening to me. Is there a corn shortage? The music was pretty loud and our server turned it down upon request. The busboy seemed a bit annoyed by our presence the closer it got to closing time. At the end of dinner our bill with the built in gratuity was over two hunnid bucks! Maybe that's why TheBoil was so empty on such a busy night outside. They don't have bibs or boozy bagged drinks either.

We got here pretty late one night, maybe 20 min before last call. (They close at 11 but last seating is 1015 last call might be 1030) They were able to seat us, and still receive great service. We've been here before and this time didn't disappoint. It may have been better than the first time lol.We literally got the same thing as the first time (see previous review), minus the alcohol bevs, I opted for a mango lemonade because they didn't have passionfruit it was still great though. The sauce in the scampi needs to be bottled up and sold fr. It wasn't crowded so we got our food pretty fast, even got a lil end of the night performance from a neighboring guest's daughter. The music here is just the right vibes, esp on a Friday night.

Went on a Monday night which was great cuz it wasn't very busy. The night before we couldn't get a reservation. I've walked past so many times so glad I was able to go. It gives off the expected crab shack of a seafood boil place. Quite spacious as well. The service was quite nice. There was someone in training taking care of us but it worked out. When the boil comes they help you with your bib and provide your gloves and shell crackers for the main event. We went straight in for the boil and it was great. Got the dry rub option and the potatoes and corn were really good in there. More than enough shrimp and crab meat. Was very satisfied at the end of it all. Would recommend

Wished I can give them 10 stars, Service 10/10Food 20/10Atmosphere 10/10Someone told us about this place so couldn't wait to try it, walked in it was happy hour, the fried calamari was on sale $8 at happy hour, the oysters think $1:50 for 1 oh not forgetting the Mac and cheese to die for. Order 2 boils, which was definitely worth every penny and more. Everything was cooked to perfection, I have to honestly say this is by far "D" best boil I had. Can't wait to roll up in there again. This time I'll be getting down and dirty...........

I LOVED the boil! It's a really underrated and lesser known place based on the number of people there on a Saturday night. Make no mistake though this place is GOOD. The service is fast, the bartenders are skilled, the drinks are delicious (one of my fave ever lychee martinis), and the food is even better! We absolutely loved the lobster roll and bread pudding and the portions were huge! The inside is very clean with cute and ocean forward decor. The place was perfect for a lunch with colleagues, dinner with friends or family, or even just a quick drink. And then beat part is that you can just drop by--no need for a reservation as there are always plenty of seats. I can't wait to come back!

got a Long Island because I didn't know if the bartender makes a strong drink or not. Everybody knows if you get Long Island you automatically get a strong drink but NO mine taste like coke. My friend whose birthday opted for a Mojito she didn't taste any liquor either so we let the staff know they brought us another shot for free so that was good so if you're there please check your drinks cause they're $18 with no liquor is not worth it. Now onto the food appetizers calamari was delicious and crispy.. I decided to get the gumbo instead of opting for the crab boil. Now the gumbo comes with one shrimp in the middle and just sausage pieces with little rice in some gumbo fillet, like now that was the cheapest Bowl of gumbo I ever had also, it was just sausage soup to be honest with sprinkles of rice and one shrimp. The taste was good but it's just not hearty like Cajun or Creole people eat. OK last but not least they automatically put the tip in the bill so I was like a $50 service from was decent , but the food wasn't all that & tbh the tip was more expensive than my meal ..I like to choose my own tip not coming back. OK so they flagged my review when it was the most honest and I got a lot of helpful comments because people need to know what's really going on unless yelp is trying to protect the business owners and not the customers? on top of that these reviews from other customers I don't think they ever ate in New Orleans or actual creole restaurant before because this is skimpy REAL creole restaurants give you Hearty meals and plentiful for for the price.

We had a lovely time here. We walked in as a group of 3 on a Monday and were seated right away (after being told about how tip is included at 20%). Service was excellent as was ambiance, and we loved the food! We got happy hour $1 oysters and then shared a boil with 2 sides. It was perfect for our group of 3. We will definitely be back.

The restaurant and decor raised my expectations and I thought I was going to experience a scrumptious NOLA faire. The saving grace was a very colorful Hurricane like drink that lightened up the mood. I took my cousin out for a birthday lunch. We shared the wings. The were blackened and undercooked. Hard to chew. My cousin ordered a boil and said it was ok. She stated that a better meal could be had in the many other crab joints that are popping up all over the city. I had the fried catfish and fries. This meal and a second hurricane made it all better. I'll go back for drinks but those wings are for the birds.

We came here during the soft opening and thought the sauce was a bit lacking in garlic and volume, but decided to give them another try and were pleasantly surprised. The flavor has since improved and I'm happy that they taste just like the location in the west village!

- snow crab is think and juicy- crab catches the flavor well- potatoes are the bomb - garlic noodle, sausage are really salty - cajun wings are alright, I really liked the dipping sauce- oysters rockafeller are so so - summer shandy was more lemonade than beer- the peach and raspberry beers are good, but incredibly sweet They cost $14, but you get two servings- cool 106.7 soundtrack - 20 % gratuity charge for parties of 2+- service with a smile - football game on the one tv screen - king crab is great, but hella expensive - only lobster tail with side dishes (surf n turf. Mac n cheese)- portions are huge, you WILL have a to go box, or three or four - the side dishes that you can order with the boil are enough for multiple ppl - corn is good too
