What an amazing experience. Tatsuda Omakase is a restaurant that sits 12 people at a time to go through a 14 course $90 meal. They do not stray away from authenticity to keep it classic without trying too much innovation, and it delivers. If you're looking for new ideas and trying new forms, I would recommend Mari or Sushiichi, but if you know what you want, which is good sushi for a solid price point, Tatsuda is up there for me.Taste: 5/5Ambiance: 5/5Service: 5/5Value for money: 5/5We had:1. Crab with ginger - this was okay, almost felt like a mini palate cleanser alongside the ginger to start2. Ikura don - a bit salty but a cute take on fish roe on top of rice!3. Japanese sea bream - madai - great and fresh!4. Hamachi - yellowtail - a nice bite to this one5. Silverfish - I'm a sucker to torched sushi, this was good6. Spanish mackerels - also great7. King Salmon - this salmon was rich and mouthwatering, I'm still thinking about where they got this, my partner got a second one at the end8. Hokkaido scallop - super fresh, you can taste the ocean9. Sea urchin - we've eaten a ton of Uni and this was by far on the way fresher side, good stuff!10. Akami blue fin lean tuna - and the tuna begins11. Chutoro - this was great!12. Otoro torched with caviar - also mouth watering, the otoro melted13. A5 wagyu torched and truffle - the marbling was amazing on this, tasted super good14. Eel - not your typical eel dish, there was something light and elegant about this approach! I'm glad they didn't end on a rich flavoured noteWe also tried the Big Mac as an add-on, this was good, but overall I would stick to the main courses! (Unless you're hungry for more!)I seldom give full marks, but this place deserved it. Perhaps because it was New Years Eve and we were the last meal of the night, but service was on point and there were a couple of complimentary items like dessert that was provided too.

This is a nice little sushi bar in hell's kitchen. I thought the price was fair for the quality of fish you're getting. I particularly loved the nigiris that had some sort of sea urchin on it. Service was quick and friendly. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because I had some difficulty understanding the names of certain fish/pieces due to the chef's pronunciation. This is in no way to shame him or humiliate him but I would have loved knowing exactly what I'm putting in my mouth. I did ask the chef to repeat what he said first and second time but I knew it would be extremely rude if I keep asking. It would be great if they provided an omakase guide with each piece listed out to help identify each dish more clearly.Overall we had a nice dinner!

We had an early celebration for my soulmate yesterday at my favorite omakase in the city. I've been to this wonderful restaurant three times. The first time was when they first opened back in October of 2023. The service is still impeccable, the fish is still fresh and delicious, and the decor is still really cute. We had quite a few of those "melts in your mouth" experiences. We also enjoyed the complimentary chocolate cake and champagne for his birthday. We had an amazing experience. We will be back for more!

Wow!! I was completely blown away by the omakase experience at Tatsuda. Everything from the service to the ambiance to the food was perfection. The fish, straight from Japan, was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Literally every course. Uni, toro, wagyu - this meal had it all. Food quality was on par with other omakase experiences that cost double (or more). I'm so exited to recommend Tatsuda to my friends!

Exceptional, exceptional service. We had an early dinner tonight (5pm) and we were only with one other diner. The chef was so nice, explaining all the pieces, asking us if we would want to adjust the rice and wasabi level to our preferences, etc. Host was also great, offering us complementary sake shots. We got the yuzu and white peach sake to start. Both were delicious. highly highly recommend checking out these two sakes. Yuzu was slightly more sweet (with the limoncello profile) and white peach was more refreshing and had a noticeable peach taste. In terms of the omakase itself, it was very filling! The quality of fish were very solid; not the best I had, but very solid and premium nonetheless. My favorite pieces were the yellowtail, sablefish, wagyu, and eel. Appetizers were light and refreshing. Only addition I would add to this omakase is a handroll! We opted for an extra piece - kinki - which we never tried before. It has a similar look and feel as snapper, but was actually a bit more bland so not my favorite piece. The omakase ended with a matcha cheesecake (course 15!) which was definitely more dense and heavy, but very nice they gave a piece of dessert to finish off the meal!

Tatsuda is one of the best under $100 omakases out there! There is so much care put into each piece. Everything is very fresh and the fish just melt in your mouth. My favorite pieces are the uni, king salmon, and the three tuna pieces. Surprisingly, the dessert is really good too! The appetizers are presented on stunning plates so both your stomach and camera will be eating well.Alan and his staff always provide an amazing environment! Everyone is helpful and trying to get the mood up. You will have full on conversations and they keep checking in on you to make sure you are doing well.

Excellent and affordable omakase. The nonstop pop music doesn't quite fit, but it was nice to not have an overly stuffy tasting menu experience. It's a small space, counter seating only, and everyone is seated in waves so you dine together. Make sure you talk to your chef - they are a wealth of knowledge, and may share an off-menu special with you. Each fish course was excellent, and they did a nice job accommodating food allergies and restrictions with tasty alternatives. The only low point of the meal was the lame yuzu cheesecake at the end. It was clear the kitchen was not proud of it, but felt obligated to provide an American style "dessert." A piece of tamago or even ending with the very sweet freshwater eel would have been my preference.

I went here for a date night and it was a really great experience! It is a pretty intimate setting with all guests sitting at the bar - the food was also delicious and there were so many interesting pieces! It was also less than $100 and the service and food were both amazing! I came here for dinner but they also do a lunch tasting so I would love to try that

Simply wonderful from start to finish, especially if you like 90's pop music. Tatsuda is almost exactly a year old but seems to fly under the radar for omakase experiences. Our party of 3 was able to get a same week reservation for a Friday evening, and another walk in party of 2 got seated during our time slot. There's a small sitting area in the front for those waiting for their reservation times with comfy couches and a nice view of the street for people-watching. The 14-course experience is beautifully crafted, with friendly but not overbearing service, in a classy but cozy setting. Even the restroom is cast in soft earthy lighting with an elegantly crafted sink. All this clashes in the best possible way for millenials, now with disposable income, and want to indulge in high quality seafood while Britney (b****) croons in their ears. Each sushi chef serves about 2 parties at a time, placing perfectly portioned slices of fish with the smallest dab of wasabi over rice on your plates. The uni and shrimp were sweetly briny, scallops melted in my mouth, and I'm still dreaming of the buttery foie gras on unagi. Meanwhile, my friend's dream involves their A5 wagyu with shaved black truffle. The pacing was great and we still had time to chat with our neighbors while washing down bites with a complimentary cup of sake. The finishing touch was the perfectly airy yuzu cheesecake slice. A gem that I hope stays hidden until my next return!

Great food, great service, great price. 14 course + dessert for $90. The cuts were pretty generous and the seasoning for each was simple but flavorful. The scallop was my favorite, I ended up getting an extra piece.
