I came across Taco Mahal in Hell's Kitchen while exploring the area, and I was immediately intrigued by their unique fusion of Indian and Mexican cuisines. The concept is so creative that I just had to give it a try. I decided to start with the Tandoori Chicken Wings, and they were nothing short of phenomenal. The wings were perfectly cooked--juicy on the inside with a slight crisp on the outside--and the seasoning was spot on. The bold, smoky flavor of the tandoori spices paired beautifully with the classic comfort of chicken wings, creating a truly memorable dish. It's not every day you find such an inventive blend of flavors that works this well. Each bite was packed with spices that transported me straight to an Indian kitchen, yet the dish still retained its universal appeal as a classic appetizer. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu because if the wings are this good, I can only imagine how delicious their other offerings must be. If you're a fan of bold flavors and culinary creativity, this is a must-visit spot!

When I first moved to NYC I had a bowl from the Hell's Kitchen location and didn't love my experience at Taco Mahal. I went for the tacos and that changed my entire perspective on this place. I will say the vibes are much better in the West Village to begin and the food just tasted fresher (maybe it's because I went earlier in the day for lunch). I got the lunch combo of three roti tacos. My favorite was the vegetable of the day, the paneer, and the chicken curry. The naan is incredibly pillowy here, it made for an excellent taco as well.

Definitely worth seeking this place out. Hole in the wall type place with amazing Indian Mexican fusion . Super small inside but has a little seating and a covered outdoor area. Your order at the counter and pick up. They have bowls, biriyani, curries, roti tacos, naan tacos. Chai and other a la carte items. We chose the roti tacos with Chana masala, malai chicken and chicken tikka . With a side of masala fries. Served piping hot the rotis are nice and soft and so fresh. Stuffed with your choice of fillings topped with a little cilantro , onion and cabbage garnish. Comfort food kinda food . The chicken is so well marinated and a good amount of sauce. Can be messy eating it ! The fries had seasoning and the chutneys for dipping. Nice and hot too and perfect with the tacos. I'd like to try the naan tacos next time. Had read about this place so many times and it did not disappoint. Cannot wait to go back on my next trip back to NYC. It's a Great place to get a quick bite or a snack . Very tasty and full of spice !

Stopped by for a casual dinner. I ordered the garlic naan taco with paneer tikka masala, which was about $13. For the price, it was a good amount of food. I also appreciated that there was a good amount paneer unlike some takeout places that only give you like 4 cubes of paneer. My only issue was that some of the paneer pieces were overcooked and were really tough. But otherwise, highly recommend!

Consistently good spot that also delivers on flavor at a good price. 1. The chicken tikka naan taco with cheesy naan is one of the best bites in the city. 2. Service can understandably be slower when they are busy (late night and during meal times) but quality is consistent3. More of a grab and go spot with limited outdoor seating

I still love Taco Mahal and recommend people come here, but because it's so close to my apartment I hold it to a different standard. They recently increased prices by 10% across the board, so recently that the menus in the restaurant haven't been updated. This means that the big biryani for like $19 is now like $22. Definitely not a fun barrier to break. This afternoon, though the restaurant was slammed, the biryani was constructed more sloppily with (perhaps) some new ingredients and less coloration throughout, closer to Masala Times', which is mediocre. The flavor was still there and the large shrimp were plentiful, but worth mentioning. For those looking for a good mix of carbs and protein, Kebab Express is now the only serviceable budget option in the neighborhood that I'm aware of.

Great spot for a quick bite! I've come here a couple times now and have always enjoyed what I had. This time around I had a Chicken Tikka Masala on a Garlic Naan Taco. Delicious! Whenever I'm in the area this is one of the spots I gravitate to for a bite. Definitely worth checking out!

Very tasty and fun twist on Indian cuisine! You'll get full off of one naan taco, or two roti tacos. I like that they offer two different types. There aren't too many options for dairy-free folks, though. Only the vegetarian option which was surprising to me because there are a ton of dairy-free dishes in Indian cuisine. Value is reasonable and in a good location, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Ordered online and accidentally chose the W Village location. I actually wanted the Hells Kitchen location. Arrived to pickup and when my order wasn't there, told me maybe it went to the wrong location. The worker called the other location and verified my order went there. Asked to cancel so I can place an order at the H Kitchen location and was told to call Sauce (the app company they use). I asked for the Sauce phone number and she said she doesn't know. I then paid for another order from the Hells Kitchen location. After getting home contacted Sauce through the web form and they replied that I was denied a refund by the restaurant (food made already) and that I should contact the restaurant. Even though it was my fault, terrible service by both there restaurant and Sauce especially since I live I the neighborhood and a repeat customer. Update! Owner / Customer Svc reached out to me and refunded the first order.
