Was unexpectedly in the area so I decided to try this much hyped place. I was STARVING but unfortunately this place is to go only!! I went early afternoon on Monday and it was busy. They work by a number system (like a deli)... though it seems like some people can cut the line/system (as someone did with me), maybe a regular or employee? Who knows, but it was ultimately quick and not a big deal.Since it was my first and likely only time at this place I ordered a bunch of items including chicken curry w/ dhal puri, cod fish cake, Guyanese chicken empanada, pineapple tart, and peanut punch. Dhal puri and cod cake were super dry, not that great. Curry chicken had decent flavor but was super greasy. The stand outs by FAR were the Guyanese chicken empanada, pine tart, and peanut punch. The 2 pastries were very flaky with incredible flavor while that peanut punch... oh my god. I've never tasted anything like this before it was as if they take sweetened peanut butter and blend it was cream - thick but not as thick a milkshake, sweet but not sickly, delicious peanut butter flavor. For all of my items the total came to around $23 which I thought was pretty decent. I'm glad I went, and while I would definitely recommend the pastries and peanut punch, the other items left me kinda disappointed given all the hype. But seriously, GET THAT PUNCH!!

Return or not return? As usual, I hope they continue to succeed though I'm unlikely to return. I'm Guyanese and trekked quite a ways to get here. Best thing we ate was the Guyanese beef patty which I'd order again. Pepperpot not good. Little to no meat. Little gravy, and mostly pig skin. Don't know how you can charge $18+ and give that to someone. Flavor was fine.Pine tart overrated and potato ball not so good. Salara ok. Chicken curry and roti ok.Most things in my opinion over-priced, but they didn't seem to have any issue attracting customers. Was surprised they wouldn't let me do 1/2 pepperpot and 1/2 goat curry even though same price. Not good customer service.

Very good location for Guyanese pastries. The service is a bit slow to my liking but I prefer this location to the one on hillside even though that parking is horrible.

Some of the bakery items may be good, but we didn't care for the food. The roti skin was okay. They left an item I purchased out of the bag. It's a good thing I checked before leaving. There are only a few stools to eat at a counter.

My friend introduced me to Sybil's because she really wanted me to try Guyanese food. Sybil's did not disappoint!! It was busy on a Friday evening but the line moved quickly. I had curry goat with roti and let me tell you the goat was soft and the sauce was sooo good. It had spice kick but not to the point you couldn't eat it. The oxtail is as tender and spicy and the Mac and cheese was great. I could not stop dipping my roti in the sauce. I also tried fish cake with Dahl purri and lordt the flavors were bomb because they made it into a wrap. I also tried a cheese roll and got salara. I didn't try the salara yet but I'm sure it will not disappoint. Definitely worth the trip

They have some amazing Caribbean food choices there but I mainly go for the coconut drops in the morning or a few potato balls. The roots man drink or sorrel are also a favorite of mines. They have a clean establishment and the service is quality.

The food was amazing. We were celebrating our 24th anniversary, we have the KC strip steak. A couple of appetizers I strongly suggest the mushrooms. They were absolutely phenomenal.

Alright so no gatekeeping here. THIS is a QUEENS GEM. Definitely not hidden. Dab smack in the middle all the way down Liberty stands a huge yellow red and green building that you might get lucky to park by. Once inside the front door you get a ticket and wait to be called. In the middle of the day it was busy with at least 15 ppl a head of me lots of chatting and moving around. This is where you go for Guyanese food. There are other spots but THIS is where you go when like me you are in need of doubles. That's what I went in for doubles, pumpkin and an egg ball. They had so many other things it was super hard to not make another purchase and while writing this review my tummy is rumbling like DRIVE back today! This West Indian bakery is so good. I highly recommend 5/5.

I only get the chicken chow mein. It's absolutely delicious. The flavor is there and it comes with pepper sauce on the side and two sweet plantains on top. Perfect sweet heat balance. And the large is pretty hefty. So much noodles.
