I've only ever had take out from here and it's only ever been ok. Nothing spectacular but not bad. Always arrives on time.My biggest issue with this place is their buy one get one deals on delivery sites. We've noticed this before but it seems like you typically get 8 pieces in a roll. However, if you order their BOGO deal on Uber Eats, each roll only has 6 pieces. A little shady.The sushi itself is good but doesn't stand out. I like their miso soup too. If it were up to me, id order from another place unless you just really want sushi and everywhere else is closed.

Issuing warning for folks who are allergic/ averse to shellfish (I assume the vast majority of you are not ordering sushi) My partner ordered fried bananas and upon biting into their first piece got a huge chunk of shrimp along with banana. my assumption is they use the same tempura batter for everything- kind of a cross contamination issue

It looks like they couldn't even bother to stir in the sauce. If I had to guess, they added one scoop of the massaman curry sauce and then quickly put the lid on. Wanted to give a shoutout to my former neighborhood spot, as I've since moved, and I saw that this place had poor reviews for some inexplicable reason. I have eaten from this place countless times. Do they do a suspicious variety of various Asian ethnic cuisines? Yes. It's a little weird to be able to get Thai, Chinese, and Japanese from one restaurant.Is it a cheap neighborhood option? You bet your wallet. You can't beat these prices. It may not be the most freshest, pinkest salmon you've ever eaten, but if you wanted that, you'd haul your butt to Sugarfish in Manhattan. Lunch special prices are incredible. I can't speak to the Thai food (see below), but the sushi is great and the teriyaki bento boxes are a good deal. I have never had problems with fish quality in terms of getting sick, which I can't say for every neighborhood place.However, the real hidden gem of this restaurant is their Thai tea. It's real thai tea made with condensed milk and spices, and you can get a relatively large cup of it with no ice for $3.50. I have never seen this cheaper than $6 in a Manhattan restaurant, and most of the time it has ice in it, so there's even less than what you would get here. The interior is not pretty, but I've also never seen anyone eat there. I think the neighborhood and the restaurant both have accepted this place makes food just for pickup or delivery, not dine-in. And that's okay! But if you choose to eat here in person, don't hold it against them. They're on nearly every delivery platform, but I think their preferred method is through their website: sushitatsubrooklyn.com.

This place is very affordable which I love. If money weren't in consideration I probably wouldn't choose sushi tatsu but it very much is and I'm very happy to order from here! The 3 rolls for $17 deal is such a steal in NY! The pork buns are a MUST, we all agreed it was our favorite item. I enjoyed the fried rice as well as the dumplings. Good dependable and affordable takeout spot!
