Service was and food was delicious -- everything was perfect!! We sat at the counter and got to see the chefs making everything, was worth it. We got the regular omakase which has 21 pieces and dessert, as well as the caviar add on. We also got 2 glasses of sake, both of which were really good as well. The service and ambiance were great as well, everyone was dressed very well and the servers were very attentive. Overall would definitely recommend this hole in the wall restaurant in West Village!!

I'm not usually a big fan of omakase, but I've heard great things about Sushi Nakazawa. The tasting menu consists of approximately 20 pieces of nigiri, and it's priced differently depending on where you sit: $190 at the counter and $160 in the dining room.Although I'm not an expert on Japanese cuisine, I can say that each plate of nigiri was thoughtfully arranged and beautifully plated. All the pieces tasted incredibly fresh, and I had the perfect bite every time. The staff were very attentive, and the tea and crème brûlée were great finishing touches to wrap up the meal.

Probably the brightest chef's counter I've ever encountered (made it awkward for me to look at the chef ) It's good for pics but it lacks the intimate ambiance imo. They also have dining room that are dimly lit, but I didn't want the pieces to come in a set. Rly appreciate the amount of seared sushi on the menu (1/4 of it,my fav) I hope I get to know what's being served that night cause I expect certain ingredients to show up, but end up finding out caviar is a add-on Also they only have one thick drinks menu, which was given to the guests who arrived first. So, after we're seated, we had to wait for that menu before beginning our meal. I'm fine with waiting, but the chef was also waiting for us to begin the course. Introvert knows how it feels

Heard some great things about this place so our expectations were high but happy to say those expectations were met. We had a reservation at the chef's counter for dinner. We were greeted upon entry and had our coats checked. After waiting for maybe 5 minutes or so, they led us to our tables. Service was as you'd expect from a higher end omakase spot through the meal. The three appetizers were great and the 20 or so pieces of sushi after were very well enjoyed. My favorite by far were the toro (fatty tuna belly) and eel which might've been the two best sushi pieces I've ever had - literally melts in your mouth. Dessert pieces were great as well. The place itself is cute and intimate. It's clean and well decorated. If you like sushi, then Nakazawa is worth a shot.

Nakazawa should just do a Tamago tasting. Seriously. Pair the most brilliant egg preparation on earth with... well... they'd come up with something. I'm sure of it.Seriously, though, the entire omakase experience is one of brilliant deliciousness. They do a great mix or "old school" classic nigiri more fresh and expertly prepared and presented than most anywhere else's intermixed with some wonderful things I've never had anywhere else. But... there's just something so, so special about the Tamago. (Yes, that's Tamago with a capital 'T')There's a lot of options for omakase these days, but Nakazawa is still at the top of my list. The space is lux but inviting. Service is impeccable and not overbearing. And the omakase is always always special.

If you're looking for a really nice, high quality omakase that won't break the bank too much (it will still hurt, but not sushi noz level hurt), then go here. I actually really liked the table style service, rather than the sushi bar. It felt like I could talk with my friend more. But I know some people don't like that for omakase, so completely up to you. Each and every piece of sushi was well thought out for the order of which you eat them and it was all so fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. Still dreaming about the scallop and salmon pieces. Word to the wise though -- don't get their non alcoholic wine. It is just apple juice. The most expensive apple juice you'll ever drink.

I've heard so many friends rave about this place so was super excited to try it! Maybe my expectations were a bit high so though I enjoyed omakase experience, ultimately nothing really stood out to me. For $200+ pp, I would expect to have something to write home (yelp) about... Don't get me wrong, if you're looking for high quality fish, attentive service, and fancy dining ambience, Sushi Nakazawa checks those boxes! But for me personally, it's missing that "mhmm wow" moment and creativity that would set it apart from other omakases in the same price point.

I had an excellent omakase dining experience. This is a highly recommended restaurant and I enjoyed the experience. The food is fantastic and the service is very good and orchestrated. I would highly recommend visiting this place for a special occasion.

Had a really good time at my birthday dinner. There were many courses and we started to lose track but everything was great. Standouts were the several rounds of tuna, the salmon multiple ways, and when the chef brought out live prawns to interact with, before serving them to us a few minutes later haha. They have a small lounge area to wait for seating, and what seems to be 2 separate counter experiences. Overall nice experience.

One of my favorite omakases with high quality cuts. I liked that they serve different cuts of the same type of fish together like four tunas, then four types of salmon. Every piece was delicious and I would definitely want to come back again. Service is great and reservations by the sushi bar are the best.
