Reallllllly like this omakase place. I've had better sushi but for the price point, I might be visiting this place more often.Located midtown and need to go up an elevator then up 2 flights of stairs. They got a good amount of seatings for big parties but I opted for bar seating. Always bar seating for omakase. Like the pacing better and torched pieces are served at a better temp.Everyone was really friendly and pieces were served at a good pace. Do prefer it to be even slower but I'm a slow eater. Heard the omakase menu changes around, but each piece was really good!!! Ofc loved the toro (our piece was in between chutoro and otoro), wagyu piece also melts in the mouth, and new found favorite is seigo? (Chef said black carp?) -it also melts in your mouth like toro, never had this piece before. I went for my bday and they also gave a complimentary glass of champagne and extra shrimp nigiri, played a bday song as well. Had a great experience here and def will be coming back!!! Want to go again as I'm typing this lol

I believe this place used to be Haven Rooftop and now has turned into Sushi Lab Rooftop. Once you enter the hotel, you check in at the right hand side and someone will direct you to the elevator where you take it to the 6th floor and proceed to walk up two flights of stairs. The space is cute, but on the smaller side so definitely make a reservation prior to coming here. My table ordered off the restaurant week menu, where they offered a three-course meal. We started off the with the crab tacos, got the 10-piece nigiri, and ended off with the matcha crème brûlée and new york cheesecake. We also ordered from the regular menu as the restaurant week menu did not make us full. The two rolls we got were the yellowtail and the wagyushu beef roll. They were both flavorful and satisfied our taste buds. I would say my favorite piece was the scallop topped with truffle. It melted and mixed so well together. Overall, it's a very cute restaurant but I don't foresee myself coming here as often only because the prices are so high.

We had a Girls' Night Out and participated in the Restaurant Week menu at this location. After you check-in at the Sanctuary Hotel, you need to take the elevator to the 6th floor and climb up 2 flights of stairs to the main dining room. It is very bright and roomy on the rooftop. There are heaters everywhere, but don't sit by the window on a chilly day. The breeze comes through the cracks. Our server was kind enough to let us know they have a brunch menu on the weekends with bottomless mimosas and bellinis. The items on the Restaurant Week menu were so tasty, too. We will be back for more!

Sushi Lab, located on the rooftop of the Sanctuary Hotel, offers a charming and intimate omakase experience. The space is beautifully designed with abundant plants and flowers, creating a serene, well-lit atmosphere. For the best experience, sitting at the chef's counter is a must!I started with a sake flight, featuring three different pours, which was the perfect way to set the tone for the evening. For appetizers, I had the bluefin toro tartare, served with avocado and crispy seaweed chips, and the Salmon Belly & Poached Asian Pear with ponzu. Both were outstanding, with fresh flavors and a great balance of textures. The sushi itself was amazing--each piece featured incredibly fresh fish atop perfectly seasoned rice. The Wagyu with scallop was a standout from the à la carte menu, a combination that was rich, decadent, and worth every bite.Overall, the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the reasonable pricing make Sushi Lab a spot I'd definitely return to.

Very cute rooftop spot. They have 2 omakase options, chef's Selection ($60) and the lab experiment ($100). We tried both options, the latter came with some cute apps and "higher" quality fish (First 2 pics were for the lab experiment and the third is for the chef's selection)The service was amazing! Super friendly and caring! They try to make small talk with you to get your feedback on how to improve the experience.

My daughter and I were ripped off. We paid $100 each for their Lab special but only realized after we left that we had been served the $60 9-course version, not the $100 15-course version. I called them. The verifiable 1 hour time we were there should have been enough evidence for them. The manager said she would look into it, BUT NEVER GOT BACK TO ME. Buyer Beware!

Found this sushi place while scrolling and it was super close to my hotel. I had to come when I seen they had matcha crunch roll on the menu. I love anything with any type of matcha anything lol. It's on the rooftop of Sanctuary hotel. The hotel was beautiful btw. You go through the hallway, up the elevator and then up two flights of stairs to get there. The service was fantastic. Everybody was super helpful and the place was decorated so beautifully. I ordered the ichigo margarita, matcha crunch roll, and then I got the sweet shrimp nigiri/sashimi. The matcha crunch roll was soooooo good. Had shrimp tempura inside, the little match pearls on top. They didn't add any flavor but they were cute and you could feel the little pop in your mouth when eating them. I loved it. The margarita was delicious and strong good strawberry flavor. The sweet shrimp nigiri wasn't my favorite. It was two small shrimp with a lil sauce on top. I thought it was going to be different but I still ate it as I like shrimp but I'm not the biggest fan of raw/less cooked shrimp personally. I will definitely eat here again when I'm in NYC. I loved everything about it.

Do. The. Omakase. I almost didn't and would have regretted it. While the rolls were good, the $60 Omakase was for sure the winner. I don't know that you need to upgrade for the $100, but the sauces and the concoctions for the normal level was worth it. We sat at the counter and really enjoyed it. The space itself is gorgeous, and the food is out of this world. We did get some rolls as well, and while we liked the matcha roll recommendation, it didn't compare to the yellow tale. If we were to come back, we would order one Omakase, some nigiri, two rolls, and an appetizer which would be plenty for two people. The bites of Omakase, are big enough that you could share a piece for a little nibble.

Sushi Lab is one of my favorite sushi spots in Manhattan. Love, love, love! Located atop the Sanctuary Hotel, it is small, but it works! Just make sure you have a reservation, as it is in the heart of NYC and is popular. Decor: Very cutesy with windows all-around allowing you to take in the views.Food: I've tried so many of their rolls, and I cannot complain about any of them. My favorite roll would have to be the Matcha Crunch Roll - filled with shrimp tempura, avocado and topped with spicy baked crab and matcha covered rice pearls. If you follow me on this here app, you know I love sushi and have tried many places! This Matcha Crunch Roll is definitely top five.Sushi Lab's sashimi is also fresh; I've tried the Yellowtail, Salmon, and Tuna. Awesome! The Honey Soy Glazed Wings are also good. I am not a "wings" type of lady, but I would order again -- it had a nice crunch to it.I have nothing else to say about this pretty restaurant with delicious sushi. Get there! Cheers!
