Major side note in case Zach or others read this: The literal only complaint I have about this place is that the rice is too warm as it falls apart especially during the AYCE. If the rice temperature was a bit cooler, it would be perfect. Anyway I was here recently with a group of seven others to have their omakase. This is similar to SourAji but costs a bit more ($98 before tax and tip) and it lasts only 80 minutes but the quality of the fish as well as the fish to rice ratio is so much better than the latter that I would highly recommend this place even with the rice being a bit too warm. The pieces come with various toppings but in almost all cases, they compliment them and they aren't overpowering the good fish quality. Side note that they only seat 11 at the counter along with two small tables so it's a bit smaller. The meal comes with drinks as per the other spot Itami Onigarashi (the less sweet option though definitely not a dry sake) and Kuni Zakari (a nigori/unfiltered sake which was a tad better.) The main guy working here Zach is a character. They first ask if you want wasabi or no wasabi and then the meal begins. They started with two appetizers. The first was the Amberjack Jalapeño with truffle ponzu sauce and Asian pear which was nice. The spice was light and the amberjack was good quality with a light truffle flavor and a bit of crunch and sweetness from the pear. The latter was the Toro Uni Caviar Toast which was filling but delicious with good quality toro and a bit of fishiness from the uni on top of very soft toasted bread. Afterwards came the sushi which came out at pretty good pace.Sea Bream/Matai (or rather Madai-) Ponzu sauce, radish, and lemon zest. Good firm fish with the ponzu/lemon adding some good citrus notesKing Salmon- sweet pepper and tomato. Good quality salmon with the tomato being a fun touchYellowtail/Hamachi- salted jalapeño. Very good quality hamachi with the jalapeño being again light (almost not needed)Striped Jack/Shima-A-Ji (or rather Aji-) yuzu kosho. This started off the best few pieces. Yuzu kosho added a bit of spicy citrus to the good fish textureSea Scallop/Hotate- black sea salt and lime zest. Nice sweet firm scallop with some zest. Very goodSpot Prawn/Botan Ebi- pickled wasabi. Bouncy shrimp with a bit of heat. Very good.Bluefin Lean Tuna/Akami- truffle mushroom paste. Lightly buttery tuna with some earthiness from the truffle but not too much. Good.Bluefin Fatty Tuna/Otoro- osetra caviar. Really high quality fatty tuna and leaps and bounds better than at Aji.A5 Wagyu- fresh truffle. Tender meat with a bit of fat with a whole lot of shaved truffle. Very tastyGrill Eel/Unagi- homemade eel sauce. This was served as a temaki/handroll. Nice quality eel and not too sweet.Maki Roll/Fatty Tuna Maki- More of a torotaku due to the pickled daikon with a bit of good quality ikura. Very tastyThen came the AYCE which is ordered in two sets (or one if full like me) and lasts around 20/25 minutes or so. I was expecting them to shrink the pieces or add more rice but they happen to give the exact same portion or just as much as the regular menu so I overordered. I would say that the rice here especially was not cool enough so it broke down. The best of the bunch was the scallop which was firm and sweet. There was also lean tuna (solid,) fatty tuna (a bit overindulgent and delicious) and more of the good unagi.Part of the way through, they gave us dessert which consisted of homemade Matcha Ice Cream which was delicious. Nice earthy matcha and not too sweet. This is SourAji's fancier better cousin and better in everyway if they fix the rice issue. Just better quality fish and more than worth it especially if you don't mind a food coma afterwards. The service is also better and the sake is not as generic. Mid 4.

The omakase was very good. We really enjoyed the food. Service was good as well. It can get very noisy though, noise carries at this place.Overall a good experience.

AYCE sushi but it's more like AYCE rice. I've never been to any other omakase that put so much rice on nigiri. The rice fish ratio is way off. You can't opt out or ask for less rice you will get surcharge for $6 a piece. That say, forget about the unlimited refill, you won't have space in your stomach for more. The nigiri pieces are heavy on lemon zest, fish are sliced very thin on top of a handful of rice. I love the unlimited sake which is a perk. At the end of the meal I was only able to add one more piece for their unlimited experience because I was already full from all the heavy rice. I will not come back here until they fix the rice ratio, there are better quality elsewhere without having to stuff myself with rice

If you're a fan of all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi, this spot might be for you--just keep in mind that the quality of the omakase is decent, but not exceptional. You're not paying for a traditional omakase experience, which would typically be much pricier and wouldn't include an AYCE option. That said, the service here is excellent. The staff are incredibly friendly and encourage you to enjoy your food and drinks within the 80-minute time limit. The restaurant itself is small, with two additional side tables by the sushi bar to accommodate more guests. Arriving on time is crucial because if you're assigned a table and other guests are late or don't show, you might get moved to sit by the chefs--an upgrade that adds to the experience. This place has gained a lot of attention from social media, which is how I discovered it as well. If you have a good appetite, it's worth checking out. I enjoyed my 44-piece meal (30 pieces of mainly fatty tuna in the AYCE portion) for $98 (pre-tax and tip), which I thought was a solid deal.

My friend and I came here on a rainy and cold Tuesday evening. I was interested in this place because of the unlimited toro and I love toro. We had corner seating which was great for the 80 minute AYCE omakase. It was overall a great deal and very well organized for the $98 dining experience. This AYCE omakase included a 13 course omakase, unlimited beer, soda and sake plus 2 rounds of choices of sea scallops, lean tuna, fatty tuna and unagi. For my drink I ordered the snowman nigori which was sweet, refreshing and deceivingly strong. I was starting to get really full after the 13 courses so for the 2 rounds of AYCE sushi I ordered lean tuna, fatty tuna and unagi. At the end of the night I had consumed about 19 pieces of sushi because I wanted to avoid the extra $6 surcharge for leftovers. Service was great and staff were friendly and welcoming. The matcha ice cream was a perfect way to end our meal. This is definitely worth trying especially if you love Toro. The unagi was also really good.

Came here for the all you can drink and eat omakase. The fish was really good and fresh and they definitely kept the sake and drinks coming. I wouldn't say it's the same party vibe as sushi on me and they aren't as friendly as sour aji, it's more professional and buttoned up. Ambiance was nice. It was a bit warm which was nice on a cold day. They were friendly but nothing special. I think the nice thing was they do two rounds of the unlimited so you can be a little more liberal with your guessing. A really cool place and for the price I would definitely come again.

Quality sushi even though it's AYCE. Hubby loved the AYC drink beer and sake. Not a big menu of options, but everything tasted wonderful and we were very satisfied. Service is super fast and friendly and the owner is genuinely an awesome guy. We thought wagyu nigiri was part of the AYCE menu, but sadly it wasn't. You do get one serving included -- was sooooo delicious!

Great AYCE omakase experience for an affordable price at $98 for 80 min. The AYCE experience just became available this October. I had a reservation at 6:30pm, the chef served 13 omakase dishes followed by two rounds of orders of unlimited pieces of sea scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna, and unagi sushi. Any leftover sushi or rice will be charged $6, so make sure you order what you can eat. As for the unlimited drinks, you have the option to order beer, soda, or sake. I ordered the snowman nigori sake. It was refreshing and sweet. For dessert, matcha ice cream was provided. Nice atmosphere, staff were friendly, love the variety of sushi here, everything was fresh. My personal favorites were the fatty tuna, salmon, and unagi sushi. I would definitely return and recommend this place.

- overall rating: 4.5- pretty identical format as Souraji (another AYCE/AYCD omakase) except that they offers 4 AYCE options instead of 3 - friendly staff but had to be flagged down several times for beverage refills- they're pretty comparable as far as quality and value but due to proximity and my preferring the appetizers at Souraji, they're at a slight disadvantage despite getting .5 boost from including one more ayce option (scallop which happens to be one of my favorites)- I think both Hayashi and Souraji are both great for what they are in value and quality. I wouldn't bring someone here for a true omakase experience or for their first omakase experience but I think for a loose interpretation I think it's fine. Adjust your expectations accordingly and you won't be disappointed.

Ambiance (5/5): The restaurant can fit 10 to 11 people at the counter. There were 2 small 2-person floor tables that were not being used. I liked how they had a coat hanger for us which helped with the bulk of our winter coats. Inside was brightly lit and low volume.Service (5/5): The counter had 2 sushi preppers and 1 server. The server had the best personality that brought a lot of excitement/entertainment to the experience! The sake pours were nice and heavy and ever flowing.Food (5/5): It is $98 for a 14-course omakase with AYCE (4 types of sushi available) and drink (sake, beer, and soft drinks)There's 2 appetizers: Amberjack wrapped around a crisp Asian pear. The toro uni was not my favorite. Then there was a 10-piece sushi course. Everything tasted super fresh (apparently the shrimp consistency was the only piece that had a funny texture but tasted good). Followed by a 1 piece maki roll and 1 small homemade matcha ice cream! At the end of the 14-course meal, there are TWO rounds where you can order from the scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna, and eel. Any piece left uneaten (including the rice) costs $6. The parties next to us were ordering like 20 pieces!! I was stuffed with an additional 6 piece order.Overall, the quality of the sushi was amazing. The value is worthwhile for the AYCE option as well.
