Came here years ago at their original location when they first opened. I didn't yelp it then because it was such a limited seating situation that I didn't want to risk running into trouble with bookings.SORRY.But yeah, went there a couple of times and told my friends about it and they all loved it.Then covid hit and yada yada and glad to know they have like 3 or 4 locations right now, which to me is nuts, but good for them.Anyways, I did the tasting and highlights for me were the Botan Ebi, Wagyu Beef with Uni and Foie Gras, Akamizuke, Madai and Chu Toro Truffle. This meal satiate my cravings, since it's really hard during covid to order sushi, because with raw fish, you just can't order from any establishment and it's not the same when it's delivered.Service is still awesome as before and definitely would come back here!

If you have a reservation and they don't have your table ready in time, they'll start bringing out the sake!!! On the house! Honestly how could you complain about the wait at that point?I came here with a group of 10 for a dinner reservation. The seating wasn't ready and we were waiting outside. The workers came out with a round of sake shots, then they came again with a bottle for refills. I thought it was a fair compromise for waiting. The interior is clean and modern looking. They have the bar omakase seating but they also have regular tables as well. We got seated at the bar area for omakase. We each did the $69 omakase which comes with 12 pieces and a hand roll. Everything was so tasty and unique, and each piece came out shortly after the other. They made everything fresh in front of us which was nice to watch. Our group was celebrating 2 birthdays and they gave us a plate of sushi to share with a candle in the wasabi. It was adorable and much appreciated. They didn't take the time to explain what each piece was, which wasn't helpful because they weren't following the order listed on the menu. I'm not sure if they usually explain the round, or if they didn't because we were a large group. Anyways, I say this to say that I've been to plenty of other omakase spots that take the time to explain what you're about to indulge in. The chefs here weren't very interactive with our group, until we bribed them with some of our sake. There is one bathroom in the back so it can get busy. The nice workers saw the line forming out the door and let me use the bathroom downstairs. Not gonna lie, I left here feeling hungry and so did the rest of the group. We literally went to get pizza down the street right after LOL. At most other omakase places, I leave feeling full but for some reason I didn't get that feeling here.

In New York for our friends bday & we found this place had omakase. There were 10 of us so we made a reservation for 845pm. Our reservation was delayed and we weren't seated for another 20 min, so the staff gave us overflowing shots of sake. We also were given complimentary shots while we were seated as well. It was a good time. We opted for the $69 omakase set and were all seated around the chefs. After the set was done, they gave the two birthday gals each a plate of 5 piece hand cut rolls which we all shared. Pretty tasty and the experience was a good value.

Recommended by some friends to come here. We had dinner reservations at first, but after some last minute itinerary changes, we ended up being in the area at lunch time. Called in to see if we could just come in, and they were happy to take us. Thought it would be crowded given how packed the reservations were at night, but to our surprise, it was completely empty around 1pm and we got the bar all to ourselves. We ordered the $69 omakase set. Our chef was attentive and took the time to explain each piece of fish we were being served. My highlights included the amberjack, red snapper, and Scottish salmon. I was really surprised as I've had lots of omakase in the past, but never really tried such different types of fish. The dishes were simple yet flavor was amazing. Our chef kept us entertained the whole time, and even as a nice gesture threw in an extra salmon dish at the end. Overall was a delicious and fun experience. Would definitely recommend to get the full set to have the best experience.

Amazing service and quality! Staff were super friendly and gave free rounds of sake to get energy up.It was our first meal in NY and we just arrived. I luckily made a reservation (as recommended by friends) to try a budget omakase place. So glad we did! It was like $65 for 13 pieces if I remember correctly. With the extra rounds of sale, we were so full and happy at the end of our meal. Such a great start to our NY trip!

We made a sushi bar reservation for 2 for our anniversary dinner. And honestly, we couldn't have picked a better place for this special occasion. Chef Jeff treated us to an AMAZING omakase experience. The quality of the fish was beyond what I've had before, and each piece came so well crafted with few special ingredients that blended so nicely in our mouth. We thoroughly enjoyed the really sweet hokkaido uni, melt-in-your-mouth wagyu with uni, and the most nicely marbled __ toro topped with caviar. Highly recommend the 18-pieces which was the right amount of excellent sushi for us, and still reasonably priced for the high quality pieces it comes with.Chef Jeff was very interactive and friendly through this experience. He told us about what we were eating, got to know us, and shared some fun stories and jokes. He also surprised us a special sushi at the end since we were celebrating our anniversary. He overall made this experience even more memorable, and we will definitely be coming back to Sushi by M (and hopefully Chef Jeff!)

Very affordable omakase with extra add on's if you're not full. I've been here twice and both times the experience was memorable. From the food to the friendly chefs (if you sit at the counter). The first time I came here there was a Father's Day special and the second time I had the pleasure of having chef Tim himself entertaining us. Both times I got the $100 omakase and both times I had picky people with me and they exclaimed they had wow bites. The second time I went with a girlfriend who couldn't eat everything on the omakase menu and she didn't have a large appetite. Luckily the chef and staff were able to accommodate even though we sat at the counter. They are consistently busy but not over crowded. It's still very intimate. This place was originally recommended to me by a friend who first came here when it was just a small space with no alcohol.

Omakase that definitely gets the job done! $100 for a 15 course omakase experience with a hand roll and 2 appetizers. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would like to check out the other locations to see if there were any differences to this experience! The restaurant itself had a casual feel with the sit down tables, but of course the best seats are at the sushi bar.

Always crowded so you need to make a reservation. My friend was late by 30 minutes and they still accommodated us. I got the 69 dollar omakase course. The food tastes great and the sushi is very fresh. Lot of variety and the highlights for me were the Wagyu and scallops. They have two locations right next to each other and a lot of seating. The place is very clean and spacious.

My friends and I had an absolute blast at Sushi by M on a Friday night. We made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance, and were seated promptly. The servers were friendly and they kept the sake flowing the whole night! Our chef for the night was Bill and he was super interactive, charismatic, and kept us entertained for our dinner. Each course was fabulously curated; a few favorites were the hamachi, botan ebi, and the A5Uni. The ambiance was a bit more casual, but still perfect for an intimate night or a fun dinner with friends.
