For dinner before show, we tried two other viral places. The first was this hard to find sushi spot. It is on the second floor upstairs from the Smoke Shop. Thank you Yelpers who posted pictures of the Smoke Shop because Waze took me to a completely different spot. The stairway and their space is very sketchy (look at pic) but I think that is part of their shtick; high quality sushi in a sketchy location. We ordered ahead on the app and even though I knew it would be sketchy, it was still something to walk up those dingy stairs with a garbage bag sitting at top, turn corner into a barebones stairwell, and pick up order at a McDonald's looking takeout window. But so worth it!!We got the Sushi Premium box and the Toro Toro Roll (what can we say, we love Toro (see Nami Nori review). Cannot really compare toros with NN though because NN torched theirs and also had caviar. But S35 was still very good! Toro in both the negi roll and box were so fatty and yummy! The rest of the sushi pieces were very fresh and tasty!! Very convenient and affordable!! Obviously don't come here for a date night but if you want some convenient alone time with some really good sushi, this is your place!!

I've heard good things about Sushi 35 West, so I thought I'd go try it. Immediately, I had a bit of trouble finding the store. It's on the 2nd floor of the building, but the entrance is very unassuming. Also, this place seems very geared toward take-out / delivery, as there are maybe 3-4 tables available for seating. Ordering was simple as you just spoke with the cashier through a window.I came at lunch time, so I got the lunch Sashimi Selection. The fish was good quality and it was filling. I think one of the draws of this place is the price. If I were to come here again, I would try the sushi selection as I think I would've liked the nigiri and sushi better.

By far, my favorite takeout sushi spot-- the scallop roll is phenomenal and the sushi is quite fresh. Fairly priced and a staple in the rotation right now.Cheers!

Excellent quality and prices tucked away in an unassuming location. The first thing we thought when coming here was, "Are we in the right place?" Sushi 35 West is located upstairs on the 2nd floor, marked only but a few faded signs sitting out the first floor doors. I think many people would miss this place unless they are specifically looking for it.It is definitely takeout focused with limited to no seating around. Luckily, there is Bryant Park nearby--a great place to take your order out to eat.We all various platters of tuna, salmon, and other white fish that we all thoroughly enjoyed. Despite the establishment's looks, the food was very fresh and clean. This place is the best quality to price that you can find in Manhattan. would highly recommend for a quickly lunch around Midtown.

Really good quality sushi fish for take out only. Would definitely recommend for the quality and convenience. The dinner prices are little more expensive than I would think for the amount of food. I think the lunch specials are better. Overall though worth trying! There are few tables too. The staff was really nice and brought us tap water in take out containers.

I've gotten the lunch special a couple of times because of the value which is very fair. Fresh fish for a good price. I wouldn't say the freshest I've had but still solid. The first time I went it was more fresh than this recent time. There is limited seating upstairs so it's best taken to-go!

Food: 5Value: 4Service: 5Overall: 4.75+Sushi 35 is a almost hole in the wall-ish sushi counter that has some of the best takeout sushi in the city. I got the Sushi & Sashimi Regular for $40 - not cheap by any means, but the fish tastes super fresh and better than any other sushi I've had in NYC for the same price (considering any omakase is 2-3x the price)

ordered takeout from here through uber eats, my second time now. I tried the dinner selection the first time and lunch the second. The first time was okay- better quality than other take out places but today the fish tasted kind of fishy and I was not able to fully finish this entree.

This is my favourite no frills sushi place in Manhattan. The food is reliably tasty and fresh, the staff are polite, kind, and welcoming, and the atmosphere is, well, grey, but surprisingly productive! This place is well deserving of the business they get, especially for being a cute little hole in the wall! I'm a big fan and definitely recommend this to anyone. In summer, you can eat this in the little 34th St plaza and in winter, be nice and cosy in the little grey hallway featuring 3 petite tables~
