The freshness of the fish is amazing and you can definitely tell the difference from the flavor that comes out.Although more expensive than your local sushi spot, it's nice to have occasionally when wanting quality over quantity. The spicy mayo which I typically drown my sushi in, is not really needed to due to the natural flavors of the fish.Highly recommended the Sushi Regular Special

My fave sushi in the city! Mainly a takeout spot with very limited seating. Clean inside with great staff. I've ordered to go and eaten inside. What I've tried-Sushi Premium:The best. Love that it cakes with uni and toro. The toro taku roll is unmatched! So fresh and great qualityMiso Soup:A little inconsistent from time to time (sometimes under seasoned, sometimes perfectly umami). Love that it has tofu, seaweed AND tofu skin 3 Roll Combo:Spicy salmon, eel cucumber and salmon avocado. All good, toro taku still takes the cake for me! Can't recommend this place enough! Great quality, fast and always satisfies. It could be considered pricy but I think for the quality it's worth it! There's def lower grade sushi out there and for a lot more. Def try this spot out!

I had heard that this place had very limited seating, so I got an order for takeout to eat in the park. It took a little longer than I expected, but the the sushi preparation and fish were very high-quality! I only get 3 nigiri a la carte (sea bream, scallop, and spot prawn) since I wasn't that hungry. I really loved how thick and sweet the scallop was! And the spot prawn had a nice texture.Overall, I think it's worth the price point, and as far as takeout sushi goes, this is some of the most delicious I've had in this area!

Called for a pick up order for a sushi premium and brought it home all the way to Queens and the rice was still nice and Chewy and perfect for sushi. The sushi was high quality which validates their price point. I would definitely come back to dine in but they do fill up quickly since there is only seating for 4.

Good food, and good service. Very small, but soooo good and fresh. No booze or desert just strait up Sushi. It's a little pricy for what you get, but the sushi is excellent. I would go for lunch again. Two people $70 with tip. The price and lack of alcoholic options keep it at 4 stars but the service, atmosphere, and food keep it at 4 stars.

Good no frills, quick fix sushi spot near NYU. Sushi 295 Mercer has what you need to fulfill your sushi craving. Here's what you need to know:1. It's a tight space so make a reservation if you can. 2. No customer restroom inside. 3. Straightforward and good sushi. You won't find complex rolls here but you don't need to. 4. Good service.

My first impression: Decent, but not my favorite. Sushi was slightly smaller compared to other sushi places that are selling similar sushi sets/prices. There was more rice than fish.I would give it another try but a different set (wasn't a fan of the toro taku roll).

I was quite excited to try this spot and made my way over for take-out lunch to enjoy at the park nearby. The restaurant is super tiny and intimate seating only 4 people. It seems like a lot of people just get take-out here, which I did as well. I came for the Sushi and Sashimi Lunch ($25.95), which included 7 sashimi, 4 nigiri, California roll, and a salad. It took about 5-10 minutes for my food to be prepared and they brought it outside to me once it was ready. The service was quick and friendly. As for the food itself, it was good but nothing better than something you might find at the Japanese grocery stores. As many others mentioned, the salad is often tossed and I can see why. They need to just not include it or replace with some seaweed salad or something. It's good and convenient if you're craving sushi to enjoy at Washington Square Park, but not enough for me to return sadly.
