Sun Hong Wang (or New Hong Wang) serves standard Cantonese Chinese food in a casual environment with big tables. My mother is on a mission to find the best ginger-scallion-double lobster and this was stop #4 of trying neighborhood haunts. So far, this ranked very high on the scale of quality food, price point, menu diversity, and speed. Sun Hong Wang is passing on service and ambiance - our teapot disappeared halfway through the meal and it was very jovially loud on a Friday with a birthday party. Go for a casual family-style outing and beer with friends. Don't come for a fancy date. We ordered:ginger scallion lobster - excellent.ox tail stew with bean curd - tasty, had a lot of lettuce at the bottom thoughsalt and pepper seafood - scallop, shrimp, and squid. crowd pleaser!wonton soup - excellent dumplings, nice clear broth, fresh veggiesdou miao / garlic pea shoot leaves - fresh and green!

This is one of those old school Cantonese places in Chinatown with no frills decor and tables are close together. The acoustics of this place is atrocious - you can hardly hear people at your own table because you can hear everyone else. But honestly I put up with that because parking here is relatively easy and the food isn't too bad. The servers are almost good humoured even when it's really busy. This is not one of those places you take out of towners to, but it's pretty solid for simple Cantonese dishes.

Just north of the Manhattan Bridge entrance on Bowery. Easy stop & plenty of parking at night if you are leaving the city heading to BK. The congees are LOADED with stuff, unlike some places that try & skimp out. Giant menu of fancy banquet dishes, but you can also keep it simple w soups & meat over rice dishes. They rock - a regular stop on the way home.

Was recommended this local spot by someone who lives in Chinatown and it did not disappoint! Food was delicious. We ordered the walnut shrimp, pork, beef, and noodles, vegetables, and fried noodles with shrimp. The beef was my favorite, as the meat was very tender and the sauce was amazing. 6 plates was enough to share for the 5 of us, with every plate being very flavorful. We went around 5pm and it was empty, but quickly filled up around 6pm, and unfortunately service did slow down during the busy time. Regardless, ambiance was fun and mostly filled with other locals.

Old school Chinatown eatery with the mirror decor and fabric wrapped chairs. Food: the noodles with vegetable - looks can be deceiving, once you tasted the noodles. They were packed with flavors.Veggie fried rice - good balance between veggies and rice. This wasnt dried and was delicious Tofu with Mushroom - delicious, sauce was full of flavor Service; we were seated promptly and served tea right away. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't feel rushed after paying, as our server brought us oranges for dessert.

My mom brought home their roast duck, and while it wasn't bad, it didn't exactly blow me away either. The skin wasn't as crispy as I'd hoped for - it ended up being a bit soggy. To be fair, though, that might've been because it had to survive the journey home. The flavor of the duck was solid enough, but it just lacked that extra crispy crunch that takes roast duck to the next level.Overall, I'd give it a 3/5 for now. It's decent, but next time, I'd probably want to try it fresh to see if it makes a difference.

Huge plates of food meant to be eaten banquet-style. Everything tasted good, so I don't think you can go wrong with anything here really. I liked the sweet and sour spare ribs as they were fried well, tasted good, and even had half a pineapple on the plate.

I would come here again! They have an all-day lunch special for about $9 - 12 per dish. I got the braised tofu with fish fillet in brown sauce lunch special which came with a small bowl of rice and free Puer tea. It was delicious. Deep fried soft tofu braised with freshly fried fish - you could still feel some crunch! Was very tasty and a decent amount of food for $10; just enough to feel full without any leftovers. I also finished the pot of tea. Service was minimal but it was really busy in there. Full of old Chinese people; a sign of good taste. I enjoyed watching the servers operate the little elevators that transported fresh dishes and dirty dishes from the kitchen. If it's super crowded, you may have to share a table with strangers.

We were pleasantly surprised by the price and the quantity of the food. We got the soy sauce garlic fried chicken, Singapore Chow Mei fun and the string beans. We would recommend all of them

Ample seating and comprehensive menu at early dinnertime. Food is authentic Cantonese. Both the beef and fish were excellent, and the pigeon may be even better than chicken. Portions were good and prices reasonable. Service was prompt and efficient, and the tea was good too.
