Sugarfish is some of the highest quality "affordable" sushi I have ever had! I went for a late dinner and was sat right away for 2. It is a cute date night spot with a nice atmosphere at nighttime, but it is fairly small so I would assume there is probably a wait during busier hours. The server we had was super nice and very helpful with the menu since you can either do a la carte or their set menu options. As someone who can be a little skeptical of some fish I haven't heard of, I would say the set menu is a completely safe option. Everything is fresh and not fishy at all (good for sushi beginners). I split the nozawa trust me with my boyfriend since most of the items had 2 pieces and we don't mind splitting handrolls. Every single nigiri and handroll we had was delicious, not fishy at all, and melted in your mouth like butter. I like how some of the nigiri they added a touch of yuzu or sesame which complimented the fish well. We added on a salmon roll and bay scallop nigiri and it was the perfect amount of food. We also drank the nigori sake which was good and strong, and the overall price for how much food we got and alcohol was not bad! And it is no tipping so the bill is the total. I think Sugarfish could be my top sushi spot because of the quality, simplicity, taste, and (relative) affordability!

Gluten free people stay away!! They have no GF soy sauce or Tamari. So, if you get omakase, it's just plain fish. Additionally, one of the items on the omakase is soy sauce marinated and, get this, they will NOT replace it with something else. You just pay for it but can't eat it.When asked about any of this, the response was hostile and dismissive. Basically, "we don't care". They did offer lemons as recompence for not having GF soy sauce, which is hilariously gringo. The fish was fresh and served at room temperature, so still gave 2 stars. But, srsly, if you have gluten allergy or sensitivity, this is not the place for you

Big fan of Sugarfish, I know what to expect. The wait wasn't too long to get in though we did have a little bit of it.They were quick to seat us after and I love how the menu isn't too large - meaning everything is fresh. We order the omakase Trust Me because we thought it was the best deal and quantity of food. Overall, I was impressed by the freshness of everything and how quickly it came out. There wasn't anything that I ate that wasn't pleasant.Inside, it was sort of dark which makes it a good ambiance to have conversation in and not feel overwhelmed. Definitely coming back and checking their other locations too.

Pretty good! I've had Sugarfish in LA and it did taste better there, but this was still great. Lines are long here, so prepared to wait around 30 min for a table after 530pm. Loved sitting at the bar and the Trust Me menu was the perfect amount.

Was visiting for work, ordered dinner to go. Amy was so welcoming and greeted me right away! She was attentive and even went the extra mile to see what the est wait time was before I placed my order. She took my scallop allergy seriously, which I 1000% appreciate. The food transported well and was delicious!! (Obviously.) I also love the vibe at the restaurant - romantic, date night, intimate, and also GNO approved. If in NYC again, I would absolutely visit again!

I went in about 5 and got a seat at the bar, but it was packed by the time I left around 6. I heard them telling people waiting for a table that if they sat at the bar to wait, they'd have to stay at the bar. I just got a couple of rolls and they were both good. They came out quick, so it's a good option if you're in a hurry and get there early enough. Gratuity is included in their prices.

So far, I have to say that this has been my absolute favorite sushi experience! The food is incredibly delicious--every bite is a delight. Not only is the sushi top-notch, but the service is also fantastic, making you feel welcomed and taken care of throughout your meal. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for enjoying a nice meal with friends or family. The only little downside I noticed is that they don't offer draft beer, which would have been a nice touch. But honestly, with how great everything else is--from the flavors to the overall vibe--I hardly even mind! I can't wait to come back and enjoy another wonderful meal here!

How much do I love you, Sugarfish? To NYC and back! I never miss a trip to Sugarfish when I visit NYC. It's not often, so I really savor it when I'm here. The sushi here is just superb. Literally the best I've ever had, every time I eat here. I have never had a bad meal here. The fish melts in your mouth. I don't know how they do it. The pieces are perfectly cut into a single bite size. I find a lot of other nigiri at other restaurants are way too big for one bite. Not here. Each piece of fish is lovingly cut and crafted to make an amazing bite. Just trust them and go with the "Trust Me" menu. Every course has a different flavor combination from the tuna sashimi with ponzu and chives to the Japanese yellowtail with lemon. The fish is so fresh and never fishy or tough. Delicious! The rice is especially good as well. The rice is warm on the bottom and the fish is cold on top. Amazing combination. I wish I could teleport to NYC tonight for dinner!!!

Awesome sushi spot - we went for lunch during a weekday and were able to get a table instantly - it did seem to pick up, so getting there earlier for lunch is recommended. The ambiance and service was great. They were attentive, without being too overwhelming. We got one of the set menus and everything came out at a great time. Price was very reasonable for lunch, and quality of ingredients was great. Strongly recommended if you want a nice date night spot or easy corporate lunch!
