Ambience: feels like you're on a Greek island. Yes, the tables can be a little cramped, but that makes it even more authentic. They do have a cute table that's up 2-3 stairs in a private alcove that would be perfect for date night/ intimate gatherings Would make a reservation for large groups (anything over 6) it does get busy during peak hoursService: excellent. Food comes out quick, glasses were always full and we never felt pressured/rushed.Food: Must order -Octopus- dips: spicy cheese, fava- lamb chops (perfectly cooked)- kolokithokeftedes- sausage - loukoumades/ honey puff ballsMany of the meals come with pita, tzatziki sauce. Great selection of wine/alcohol as well Price: very reasonable for the quality of the food. Would definitely come back here for a souvlaki sandwich for lunch / full meal for dinner Highly recommend checking them out!

Following a poetry open-mic hunger pangs strike with the added disclaimer that I skipped lunch and breakfast inadvertently earlier in the day. Saturday afternoon with a party of two for late lunch summons Greek cuisine in Lower East Side, Manhattan, NY. It was rather quiet with few patrons and no wait is needed. The atmospheric ambiance revolves the Greek national flag colors blue and white resemble a Greek Isle. None of the wine by the glass pique my interest. I did not see Retsina and Assyrtiko on their wine list which are very well-known wines for Greek food pairing. I decided on water which was already provided. I have minimal experience with Greek cuisine, but I have always enjoyed a nicely stuffed gyro or chicken skewers. Our server Elisa H. was somewhat pushy as she collected our plates while I was still consuming my entree, but my dinning buddy finished his meal. Neither of us ordered an appetizer, side dish, specials, nor alcohol. Augh, can I finish the remnants of my entree as it literally is the one piece for the last bite... even Jesus finished his last meal for the Last Supper!! There was no dinning patrons flooding the restaurant standing waiting for a table, ergo what is the rush? We spent most of our time talking about artists whose performance lack energy with zealous and subsequently eating. Price is reasonable and aligns to 2025 inflation era as the new normal. Takeout menus are available for grabs. The circular tables are intensely small to fend an intimate dinning experience with your party.Souvlaki Pita $8.75 + add shrimp $2.00 = $10.75Pita wrapped with tomato chunks, red onions, fries, Tazatziki sauce and shrimp. The pita bread was very fresh and soft. Unfortunately, I did not carefully read the menu as there were French fries in this pita gyro which was intensely weird. There were no lettuce in this pita wrap gyro. I like the red onions which was very minimal, but enhanced the flavor and the shrimp were small size. The Tazatziki sauce was average flavor. In general the pita gyro ate my fill as I always enjoy pita wraps.Garides Saganaki $25.00Sautéed shrimp skillet with green peppers, Feta cheese, tomato sauce and Ouzo. The pita bread were very fresh cut into triangle shape. The shrimp were, thankfully, not swimming in tomato sauce for the appearance of tomato soup.Souroti sparkling water $9.00

In order of my experience The atmosphere here was so calming, a haven in the city. Beautiful colors, and even the restroom was nice. Music was not too loud and our waiter was very attentive. He brought us water right away, and gave us plenty of time to browse the menu. Definitely did not feel rushed to decide, but he stayed nearby so when I put my menu down he came over to take our order. We ordered meatballs, lemon potatoes, chicken kebab with pita, and an extra side of tzatziki. This cost 39$ if I remember right, they may have added gratuity automatically. We were so full by the end of it and the food was wonderful. Very fresh and cooked to perfection, all the flavors were vibrant, textures great, and the pita was probably the best I've had. Paying our bill was very quick and easy, we didn't have to wait forever for our card to be returned. If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping here.

Pretty solid greek spot. I've done delivery a few times and sent to dine in once. I didn't have a reservation but was able to get a table, though it was pretty packed. They have the standard casual greek fare-- pitas, salads, skewers, as well as a cocktail menu which is a nice change. I tried the athenian spritz and it was lovely. It's slightly more expensive than I'm accustomed to for this sort of food but perhaps that is just New York being New York! Regardless, I am a consistent returning customer!

Came here today for a Sunday brunch between 12:30 pm and 1 pm and we will not return. The service and quality were truly lacking.Upon entering, we were seated with different menus on our table. The lunch specials were appealing however when our waiter came to our table, he said that it was for weekdays only and the menu next to it was for dinner that took place after 4 pm. Then he went into the details of the dinner menu which was weird since it's the weekend and we are here for brunch during brunch hours. When we let our waiter know that we're here for brunch and asked for his recommendation, he just quickly pointed through the items on the menu and said this and that is good and he has them all the time and he's used to them... which was just weird. So one of my friends took his recommendation and ordered the Spanakopita, which she thought was a pie, but when it came out, it was 3 small dumplings that were only fitting for a snack. My other friend and I ordered the pita wrap, one with chicken and another with Shrimp, the quality of the pita was just horrible and the sauce was salty. My friend ended up just having the shrimp in her pita. I had better pita wrap elsewhere. The worst brunch ever!! The service and quality were so bad! Will not return and do not recommend it. The midtown location is better. This location is trash.

Stopped by Souvlaki GR for a light bite, it was a warm April day so we were able to even sit outside! Note they still have an outside covered shack, which is directly across the street from Carnegie Hall. The outdoor shack was not busy, there was only 2 other tables. I felt the service was lacking, waited quite a bit for the server to place our order. I ordered the spanakopita and the gigantes. The spanakopita was definitely homemade, it was entirely filled with spinach, my favorite! Additionally, I also got the gigantes, which was also delicious! Overall, the food was delicious, the service is questionable. But for the gigantes and spanakopita, I will definitely be coming back

Very pleased with my delivery order! I chose a few skewers (chicken, pork, beef), along with fries and the melitzanosalata. The pork skewer was my favorite, followed closely by the chicken. The beef one, while good, was not quite what I was craving (I was in the mood for beef chunks vs a meatball texture). The fries were good with a nice Greek seasoning - and the melitzanosalata paired well with all of the food. The portion of pita they provided was more than enough!Would definitely recommend for a quick but hearty meal.

TLDR;- Was pretty quiet on Saturday around 12:30PM despite other brunch places in the area requiring a 2-3 hour wait. - Food was decent and service was pretty good, they serve LOTS of pita bread to go along with the dishes- We ordered the meat platter, a Greek salad, and pita with dips- For a party of 3, they added an 18% gratuity on top- I would come back as a safe choice, but this wouldn't be a top choiceFood- Very good. The meat can be a bit salty but it was tasteful. It wasn't a 10/10 mouth watering experience, but the food was definitely good- The pita dips are good and they are VERY generous with the dips. You can then use these dips for other dishes you order, so would be a good strategic app to order!Service- Very good, the waiter was very friendly and was Greek himself, which added a layer of authenticity- Food came out decently quick and they would refill our waterAmbiance- The interior is made of stone, with blue wooden windows decorated. It felt like we were transported to Greece- There were a bunch of fans in there for circulation, which kept the room cool. I initially felt it was too in my face when sitting down but noticed it less as I was eating- Bathroom was clean, which is key!
