I've been wanting to try this place forever and finally visited for restaurant week! I wasn't sure what to expect but was more than pleased with my experience. The servers are all friendly, the atmosphere is warm, and best of all - the food is delicious. We had the traditional Paella Socarrat per our servers suggestion and the combination of chicken, seafood, and perfectly crispy rice was incredible. We devoured the entire plate. There was a mix-up with the servers and they accidentally brought us an extra glass of wine which they let us keep on the house. I'll definitely be coming back at some point in the near future!

Delicious paella spot! I came one evening with one of my friends on a whim, and I'm so glad we checked out this spot. The inside of the restaurant is dimly lit, warm, and romantic. Our waitress was so lovely in explaining the difference between the paellas, their menu, and the best way to eat the paella. I totally forgot the name of the paella we got, but we just listened to our waitress for recommendations and ended up getting a seafood paella. It was so delicious, with lots of strong flavors and seafood in it. Would love to come back and try some of their other paellas!

Staff were super friendly and it's a cozy intimate spot that doesn't get too loud. We had a dinner for 4 a la restaurant week and had an absolute blast. Pan con tomate pretty dang good as well! My friend and I r big croquetas fans and definitely will be coming back to try the daily flavors on our night they were filled with chorizo and were great. Brussels sprouts are solid about what you would expect croquettes and gambas you don't want to skip out on.Paellas were marvelous great sea food not too much fish broth and of course the name of the restaurant refers to the crispy rice at the bottom of the paella pan and that didn't disappoint either. Staff was very polite we had such a good time we didn't realize we were the last party there . If you're looking for your paella fix in nyc congrats you just stumbled across a great one. Salud y besitos

Came here for restaurant week and food was amazing. The croquettes and Brussels sprouts Tapas and paellas was so amazing but was not a fan of the date covered in bacon. Got a pitcher of sangria as well that's as really good and can fill up to 5 glasses. Ambiance was good.

I fell upon Socarrat Paella Bar in Nolita when searching for a spot to take my mom for her birthday. She and I both love Spanish cuisine (who doesn't?) and on top of that, they have live flamenco performances on Tuesday nights. It was a perfect combination of what I was looking for. I wanted to be transported to a different country in the middle of NYC, and Socarrat most definitely accomplished that. That element enhances your dining experience to another level when the atmosphere allows you to escape from whatever reality is going on outside its doors. It invigorates a multi-sensory experience, rather than using a monotonous form of consumption, like only taste and smell (think of a common fast-food experience). Successfully accomplishing something like that is exactly what keeps customers coming back (a.k.a. me). Naturally, I had to order a pitcher of sangria. I don't necessarily lean towards sweeter drinks, even with wine, so sangria can sometimes be risky. I prefer more bold and dry wines, so I want my sangria to not taste like I'm drinking jungle juice. I was pleasantly surprised that the sangria meshed perfectly with my palate, we ended up drinking a majority of the pitcher. Definitely recommend!Being it was Restaurant Week, Socarrat had its own prix fixe menu to sample. One appetizer each, one paella to share (if you've never had paella, one is more than enough for two people - that's why they do 1 paella per 2 servings), and one dessert each. Appetizers: Gambas al Ajillo & Croquetas (Bechamel and Spinach)Shrimp was cooked nicely in a rich olive oil & garlic base. We used bread to dip into the oilCould've done without the croquetas, the taste wasn't necessarily my favoriteEntree: Paella Socarrat (chicken, chorizo, shrimp, white fish, squid, mussels, clams, fava beans, peppers, tomato sofrito)When I tell you this paella was one of the best and closest to the authentic paella in Spain - believe me. The taste was so beautifully harmonious with just the right amount of salt and flavoring added. The caramelization of the rice on the bottom gave a crisp but soft texture to the rice. The technique of this paella is well carried out. Dessert: Churros con Chocolate & FlanI'm not even the biggest fan of flan and this flan was to die for. It wasn't overly milky or sweet. It was the perfect combination of texture and tasteThe churros with chocolate were good, but nothing to rave about. I preferred the flan The hospitality was incredible from the jump. I had made a reservation days in advance for my mom's birthday and they had originally sat us in the front of the restaurant where the stage wasn't entirely visible. Being it was my mom's birthday and first time seeing a flamenco show, I asked if we could be moved towards the front center of the stage for her. They were able to thankfully oblige and help, which was much appreciated. They ended up getting us the perfect spot with a front view of the performers and my mom was very happy. Our server was also incredibly delightful and accommodating. She shared some input about Sevilla when she overheard me talking about it to my mom, which was so nice to hear. I always welcome friendly conversation about travels, especially - it's a nostalgia thing. I had also mentioned my mom's birthday to her and she came over during dessert with a scoop of ice cream with a candle. She personally sang my mom "Happy Birthday," which was super sweet and unexpected. Overall, this place really made you feel comfortable, cared for, and fully satisfied in every way. 10/10 recommend!! Thanks for an amazing experience :)Review is via my blog: https://www.doublemacchiatoblog.com/

Nice cozy restaurant- came here with family for restaurant week. Our server was great and gets 4 stars. He was hussling between many tables. Very friendly and efficient. We ordered the following tapas for our appetizers: croquettes, shrimp and brussel sprouts. Tasty all around! For our paellas - we ordered three options: paella socarrat, paella arroz negro and paella de la huerta. Most flavorful option was the 'la Huerta' version. The other options might not have been as flavorful was because the ingredients may have been added on top of the rice and didn't have enough time to absorbed the ingredients' flavors. Still good but we had high hopes for the flavor.Desserts - flan was hands down the better choice over churros.

Food, service, drinks, and ambiance are all on point. We'd never had paella with lamb in it, but it was the delicious special that day and a great choice.

Socarrat has a few locations around the city and serves up traditional Spanish tapas and...you guessed it...paella.My friend and I decided to give it a try and made a reservation through Seated. We ordered Red Sangria to start-I have to say, it wasn't my favorite but it was pretty decent-I think it needed to be a more sweet and a little less dry.We tried a few items. The Patatas Bravas were a tad underwhelming, but we loved their Crispy Brussels Sprouts which were perfectly sauced and delicious. We had the De La Huerta Paella, which is their vegetarian option. We enjoyed it-it could have used a bit more flavor/salt, but overall it was a tasty meal that was reasonably priced.
