We celebrated my sister's birthday at this venue. The staff was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. We had a fantastic time. The portion sizes are generous; contrary to some reviews, I didn't find it expensive. We finished every dish, even when we were already full. My only recommendation is to include sitting for people who may have difficulty using high chairs inside the venue.

Came here for restaurant week and enjoyed our dinner. The sizzling shrimp actually came sizzling! It was simple but had great flavors. The croquettes were soooo good. It had some kind of pork/bacon/chorizo kind of meat in it that was mildly smoky. The tomato-based paella was good; the chicken was slightly dry but the other ingredients were great.Long communal table or bar seats. Friendly service!

We came on a weeknight and there was no wait. We enjoyed the outdoor dining in the back. It was a very romantic setting with string lights and we had the whole backyard to ourselves. Our server was quick and attentive- so happy we weren't forgotten for sitting outside! The paella was very good- there is a thin layer of rice so that gave the rice a sort of crunchy texture at the bottom and soft on top. The only complaint is that the food is on the pricier side..

My partner and I went for restaurant week 2025 and we will definitely be back. The food was great and the prices are very reasonable. My partner has a shellfish allergy so he usually can't have paella but they have a couple seafood free options for paella on the menu. Most of the seating is at high top tables which isn't my favorite but the seats have backs so it wasn't uncomfortable.

Came here with two other friends; we had originally thought that there was a $32 lunch special (Paella and a Tapa), but found out that it was only for the Midtown location. We ordered the Socarrat Paella and the Croquette. The Paella was solid, though I didn't think it was anything too mind blowing. The portion was ~$34 a person, which I would say is on the pricier side. (Though the portions are pretty generous) As a heads up, the Paella will usually take ~30 minutes to prepare, so would definitely keep this in mind when you're dining here.

This is the best paella I've had outside of Spain. So good! I love how "al dente" the rice is and its seasoned very well! Personally, I wish there was more rice and less toppings but the seafood was also very good. Our server was very attentive and filled our waters very often! The bunuelos were good, but unexpectedly small. I definitely expected something a little bigger for the price.

Cozy and relaxed spot for a group dinner. Family-style is definitely the way to go here to try a variety of dishes. When we first arrived, the hostess (or perhaps she was the manager?) pushed our group towards the set menu, but we ultimately chose a-la-carte since we weren't overly hungry. For our party of 8, we shared 4 tapas and 3 paellas (2 servings each), which was a good, comfortable amount for all of us. Paellas take about ~30 min and should be ordered first, and we appreciated our servers' help in guiding us on timing so we could get just the right rice consistency for our socarrat crust.Overall, a good meal. The group's unanimous favorite paella was the Arroz Negro (squid ink paella with seafood), while for tapas I loved the crispy brussel sprouts.

Socarrat Paella Bar continues to stand the test of time - having been open for more than 15 years (since 2008) and consistently remaining tasty with overall good service, it's nice to have a neighborhood spot to enjoy a relaxed, delicious paella meal. On this most recent visit, we came on a Sunday evening for a few appetizers/ tapas and of course, paella. While we enjoy Socarrat's sangria, we'd already been drinking most of the day so we focused moreso on the food, and it did not disappoint. The Atún appetizer was flavorful, topped with avocado , as was the pan con tomate. The real hero of the night was the super flavorful pescado y marisco seafood paella. For those that don't know, part of the specialness of the paella is the crispy, hard rice that cooks onto the bottom of the skillet, along with the flavorful meats on top. It was made well, and was plenty enough for the two of us. With any good paella, you want that crispy, hard rice - and the servers will help you lift up the majority of it as part of the experience, so that you can enjoy eating it. The only downside here is the cost - the tapas run around $20 ea (pan con tomate is $10), and the paella is $33/person. I definitely do not recommend getting it for takeout either as paella is better fresh off the skillet!
