Skinos

Had a much better experience at Skinos this time around and I'm glad I gave it a second chance! The waitress was exceptional -- very attentive, took the time to explain the dishes in detail, and really made us feel at home with her warm personality. She was clearly knowledgeable about the menu, which made ordering a breeze.We started with some great appetizers: the Calamari, Crab Cakes, Croquettes, and Skino's Chips were all delicious, each packed with flavor and expertly prepared.For mains, we had the Sea Bass, Bronzino, Lamb Chops, Shrimp with Orzo ala Ouzo, and the Pan-Seared Chicken. Everything was cooked beautifully, with standout flavors. The seafood, especially the Bronzino, was fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the Lamb Chops were tender and flavorful.After a less-than-ideal experience during my first visit (the pre-fixed meal was bland and the service felt disconnected), this second visit really impressed me. The quality of the food and the attentive service completely turned things around. I'm definitely looking forward to returning!

Staying in a hotel nearby, my husband and I were looking for a place to sit down and eat dinner around 9pm on a Sunday night so options were limited in the area and the red lights outside drew us in. The bottom floor where you enter seems like a cute little bar/lounge area and only had a few people seated at the bar but we were escorted to the dining room upstairs. There were several parties taking photos on the stairs and it seemed well-decorated like this is encouraged. Upstairs was about 60% full, which was surprising given the hour. We were given a choice of tables-- one in a larger dining room, which was a bit more densely populated, or one near the stairs which was a bit quieter and more intimate (if you ignore the camera flashes) so we chose that one. Unfortunately, our seats had stained-looking cushions which was disappointing for such an aesthetically pleasing space but we moved on. Service was attentive and efficient and we ordered the Village Salad to share and we both got separate orders of the Chilean Sea Bass. The Village Salad was a basic Greek salad, tasty and a solid portion for two but nothing out of the ordinary. The risotto of the Chilean Sea Bass was definitely the star of the meal-- tasty and perfectly cooked. As far as ambiance, this restaurant seems like TikTok/Instagram came to life and looking around, everyone there was celebrating a birthday and taking plenty of photos so if that's what you're looking for, this is it! There even seemed to be a photographer walking around available for professional photos which was a nice touch. If you're coming for the aesthetic, don't skip the bathroom as it seemed like a favorite spot for photos too.Overall, the meal was solid though not the greatest value but would probably be great for a celebratory meal or if you're looking for social media content. I'd consider going back if someone else suggested it.

Can you believe this is in NYC?!?I told my boyfriend it was date night and @skinosnyc did NOT disappoint with the vibes. As soon as you walk in, it's literally like you got transported to Greece The main floor bar allows you to mingle and meet up with friends in a sexy setting, while the second floor provides intimate spaces to enjoy your meal. This restaurant is blooming from top to bottom and they have soooo many instagram worthy spaces to take photos, as well as a photographer who offers professional photos for anyone interested (for a fee)What I loved about this restaurant was that not only was it super instagrammable for you to get tons of pictures and photos for your food. But the food and drinks were actually amazing too!! The drinks were tasty and strong and we actually had the chance to sit down with the chef as he personally curated our menu based on our preferences, especially since bae is a bit of a picky eater lolI was able to try new things ( I had octopus ahhh!!) lol as well as indulge in plates that I know and love and every bit of it was delicious. I also have to compliment the staff who were extremely efficient, friendly and helpful. Our waitress Martha was always only a wave away if we needed anything, and every single staff member we encountered went above and beyond. I def suggest this for your next date night or celebration and of course, thank you @skinosnyc for having me. Came to Skinos for my friends bridal shower and although the place is beautiful, it was definitely a missed opportunity for the food. It's very aesthetically pleasing and so many photo opportunities, even in the bathroom but the food was not what was expected for a place that looks so nice. Also parking was very difficult in this area. I can only speak on behalf of the event space and event food but I was very underwhelmed. For starters the food took 2 hours to come out and everyone was starving . The drinks also took a very long time to come out , mind you we were only a group of about 25 people & I did not see that the restaurant had many other people plus this was an event so we had our own designated waiters and it still took very long. For appetizer I had the mandarin salad , it was good. For entree I had the beef short rib and it was dry , not tender or juicy and the flavor was missing for me. For dessert it was an assortment of Greek desserts, they were okay nothing stood out. Overall , I don't think I'd go back. The place seemed to cater to influencers but not really foodies. They should put more effort into their food and service rather than solely their appearance.

quiet and cool decoration which is very soothing Food are delicious.Squid ink pasta is one of the best I have ever tried. Seafood are perfectly cooked, not over and under.Lamb shank is so tender and fall from the bone. They control the aroma well.A bit pricey but worth to have it.Just a reminder, they already added 20% gratuity to the bill.

I feel sooo bad giving this place two stars Aesthetically this place has a lovely set up! I mean all over social media its tooted as the best date spot, the prettiest place in NYC, etc. And there's no denying how much attention has been taken to it's appearance. It's Beautifully decorated from the outside all the way through to the bathrooms. YES, even the restrooms were decorated for photo ops!I was invited here for an event dinner and it was a nice invite and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. However, the way I got sick afterwards?!? Whew! I wouldn't wish that on anyone! My stomach was in turmoil for a good three days if not more. I had a salad and the steak and fries. Other people in our party had ordered the shrimp, lamb lollipops, and kabobs. The waiter was really attentive and made sure we were all situated. I believe his name was Nicoli but I could be totally wrong. The service and ambiance were really pretty nice but the way that food shut me down, I'd be beyond hesistant to go back. Upon leaving I saw the restaurant received a 'B' rating. I do wish I noticed that beforehand. Maybe it would have saved me a lot of pain and suffering. Go here to take phots but somewhere else to eat for sure

Delicious food and beautiful ambiance!We set a goal to visit a new restaurant every month and Skinos did not disappoint. We started with two appetizers - shrimp Saganaki and the meatballs and both were packed with flavor. For entrees, we shared the bronzino, spinach, Chilean sea bass, and the beef short ribs. Although we were stuffed, we wanted dessert and although I can't have gluten, I enjoyed the lava from the lava cake and ice cream.

Celebrated my friend birthday here. First off, the restaurant is beautiful. Plenty of photo ops! The service was nice... The drink presentations were nice - can't say much on if they are strong since I didn't have any. The appetizers - AMAZING! I had ordered the steak initially; medium rare - they made it well done. I asked for it to be corrected. (also, it lacked flavor). I was told it can't be corrected but I can order something else. So I had the short rib I think (something beef, can't remember). It wasn't very tender. Overall, I don't see myself returning unless I am invited out and have no choice.

Absolutely terrible experience at Skinos. I had a reservation, yet when I arrived, the hostess told me there would be a 20-30 minute wait--which is already unacceptable for a reservation. After waiting 40 minutes without even being seated, I asked for an update, only to be met with the excuse: "No one wants to leave their table." What kind of restaurant allows guests to overstay indefinitely while those with reservations are left stranded?After waiting an hour, I finally gave up and left. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right--just sheer incompetence and poor management. If you want to waste your time standing around while the staff shrugs their shoulders, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the headache and go somewhere that actually honors their reservations.1/5 stars. Would give 0 if I could.

The ambiance is amazing clearly bc people were there with their photographers taking bday pics etc. I can tell this is a place where people come for events. I love all the flowers and dim lighting this place is great for anyone is an influencer lol. Everyone was kind. Food was good I had the lambchops. I loved the drinks forgot which one I had but it the glass was in the shape of a woman lol. Would recommend and definitely want to go back. Hidden gem in that area.
