Maybe because it was a bit of a rainy day but when we came around 10PM on saturday, we were the first ones in the waitlist queue. A few more people came and waited behind us but we didnt have to wait very long before we were able to go inside (maybe 15 minutes?). The staff were nice but the walk in bar is very very crowded even though they had someone outside who was controlling how many people could come in at the time. It's basically enough room to find a spot to stand behind the people sitting at the bar and stay in your spot with enough room to not bump into others. They take your orders even while you are standing but the music is very loud. We did end up getting lucky and got two seats at the bar after standing for maybe ~30 minutes. I would say the experience on this part is not as good so its probably better to prioritize reservations as those customers were able to have a table and sit. But, i'm here for cocktails more than anything so my rating is based much more on that! Yuzu mugirita - coated on the edge with salt. nice a lightly sour and very refreshing yummy drink! 4/5 Super Lychee Martini - I liked this just a tiny bit more than the yuzu mugirita! A little sweeter and nice bites of lychee to balance out the drink. 4/5Saketini - This is probably more of our fault for ordering it but was a very strong strong sake taste. we were hoping for this to taste more like the clean type we get at sushi but this was too much. 0/5Sour apple apple sour - I loved this one! you don't taste too much alc flavor and its like a really nice apple pie. 4.25/5

Been to both Sip and Guzzle and overall while both are solid, I think neither are worth the hype and price. The cocktails are priced typically for NYC at around $20 each and I would say they're solid but nothing special. The ambiance of both Sip and Guzzle are just ok too (I was crammed into a 2 person table with 3 people at Guzzle which may cloud my experience).I've also tried the food at Guzzle-- the mochi fry, electric chicken, and uni nigiri. Honestly the only thing I would order again is the mochi fry because it's innovative, but the other two feel slightly gimmicky for something not novel.I really wanted to like this place more, and maybe I ordered wrong? Unfortunately I don't feel like this place lives up to the bars in Tokyo it strives to emulate.

Definitely a delicious but pricey spot. The bartender was amazing and had great recommendations for the snacks! The uni crispy rice dish was tasty and the pavlova ice cream was to die for!The cocktail selection is amazing. Though my drink was too sweet, it was very good. If you want to treat yourself - definitely check this spot out.

Wow, Sip & Guzzle continues to delight and impress me that I would recommend it in a heartbeat for anyone visiting NYC even if they aren't able to make a reservation. We tried Sip (downstairs), and safe to say sadly both upstairs and downstairs are so good-ordered the below:Bluefin SashimiUni Fried Rice NigiriOriginal Soft ServeJapanese Butterscotch Soft ServeDrunken Grandma's Apple PieChinatown No. 5Shoutout to Charity for the amazing, attentive hospitality! Although their menu changes based on seasonality, this time around it felt like Sip superseded for drinks creativity/taste with the food/dessert trailing close behind.

Didn't make it to SG Club on a recent Japan trip, so had to scratch the itch once I was back home by visiting their NYC sister bar. Made a reservation for Sip (the cavernous downstairs bar) a few weeks ahead.I ordered the Gimlet over rice and the Drunken grandma's apple pie; the latter was the better of the two. Why no 5th star? Drinks were solid, but I expected more for the price point and reputation. You can do better at Martiny's or Angel's Share (though admittedly I have not tried the new iteration of AS yet). Service and vibes were great.

Went there for drinks before dinner. The ambiance is excellent, cozy, dimmed lit. The tables are close to each other and half of the stools do not have a back support. The drinks are truly amazing. We ordered Dirty Mango, Negroni, Ma'garita, Old fashioned without Wagyu beef, Tomato drink and they were all outstanding.Veg food choices are very limited - we ordered Fries, which were chewy Japanese style and tasty. The cucumber were average. Our server, Turner, was awesome!

I was looking for a cute cocktail bar in the West Village for a night out with some friends and came across Sip & Guzzle. There's a main bar when you first walk in, a side room with tables and more tables downstairs. It's an interesting layout and the only place you can eat is upstairs in the side room. We went on a Thursday at 630 and the wait to eat was 2 hours. Normally I wouldn't wait that long but my group and I decided to grab drinks at the bar and hang. The wait wound up being the true 2 hours! Once we sat, we realized the menu was very unique and the portion sizes were questionable. A few of us ended up getting the Electric Chicken which was delicious but be aware, they don't give you a fork and a knife but instead you get a glove and scissors to use. It was very interesting. Overall, it's a cute spot for drinks and the service is quick but if you're hungry and looking for a substantial meal, this is not worth the wait.

Sip & Guzzle stands out as one of the top bars I've tried in NYC. This unique venue offers two distinct experiences under one roof. Upstairs, Guzzle presents a vibrant New York-style pub atmosphere, focusing on comfort and classic fare. In contrast, Sip, located downstairs, offers a refined experience with bespoke cocktails crafted by the renowned Shingo Gokan. If you can only visit one, I highly recommend Sip. Every drink was exceptional. While the prices are on the higher side, the unique nature of the drinks makes it worthwhile. I'd return in a heartbeat.

Sip and Guzzle? Overrated. I'm usually down to try anything, but this place was a letdown. We ordered the mochi fries and electric fried chicken, thinking we were in for something special, but it was honestly bad. And I'm serious - this was the first time I didn't even finish my food! The influencers really hyped this place up! Now, the drinks? They were fire! Definitely the only reason to bother stopping by. If you're just looking to sip on something good, go for it. But the food? Hard pass. Thank me later.

Sip & Guzzle is a solid spot for drinks and a chill vibe in NYC. The menu has a great variety, and the drinks are well-made and hit the spot. The service was quick, and the ambiance was casual and inviting--perfect for a laid-back evening with friends. While it's not the most unique spot in the city, it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
