Silver Krust Restaurant

My foodie friend recommended silver krust saying it's the best Jamaican take out. Was super excited and got curry goat, 2 orders of stewed chicken and an order of oxtail. I was extremely disappointed. Everything was way too salty. They didn't even have cabbage. Wtf it's almost 1pm how do you not have cabbage... ended up with either potato salad or Mac salad. The only thing my husband liked was the mac salad and the potato salad. But in my opinion, there was too much mayo in it. The meal was so bad, my husband couldn't even finish his curry goat. Out of all the restaurants we've tried, this is actually the worst. I was parched after eating part of this meal.

The service was horrible. I attempted to get breakfast, but the young woman managing the food was so hostile. I felt like I was bothering her because I asked for three items instead of two. I dont want thick dumplings, so I asked if I could pay more money for a second vegetable instead. She refused referencing her boss, " we cant do it like that." So there you have it. I was willing to pay more money for you not to dump big dumplings on my plate, and you refused. I kept my money in my pocket. I dont have this problem when I go to Cocoa Grinder down the block. I'm hoping the service gets better.

Not gonna compare because the food in this place is AMAZING!!!!!!! && other restaurants can't compare... I can't remember how I came across this place I'm just thankful I did...the portions and prices match up which is rare nowadays.. Out of ALL the times I've been here I've never been disappointed. Oh and did I mention how amazing the food is lol

My favorite carribbean restaurant so far and I could walk there from my house. Huge portions and flavor. I need this to branch out beyond nyc because this would be my go to food spot.

Excellent curry shrimp!!! Came here last year and have been stalking it to find it again ever since!!! Great portion size and amazing flavor. Must come back!!! Again and again !

I can't believe it never occurred to me to review Silver Krust until tonight. Their patties are my favorite doing-laundry treat, as well as a lunchtime fave. I was feeling curmudgeonly for giving Christine's only 4 stars in comparison, so I had to quick go to Silver Krust to see if possibly I was giving their patties too much credit. The answer is no. Christine's are great if your pattie experience is limited to Tower Isle. Silver Crust is Great compared to anything else you've eaten and liked in your whole life ever. Incredibly light, flaky, tender, buttery golden pastry, filled just barely to oozing with hot, spicy beef filling, there patties are perfection. I don't think there's a better $1.50 meal or snack in the city. They also have really good fried chicken and Caribbean specialties. At dinnertime there's often a wait despite the surplus of similar options nearby.The shrimp curry was just OK, I have to say, it was made with frozen shrimp and after sitting on a steam table all night the shrimp were pretty mushy but the reason to go to a place called Silver Krust is for the patties and they are 5 stars all the way.

Reasonably priced, generously portioned, tasty dinner ... what's not to like? I had the "medium size" brown stew chicken and it was on point and very filling. For $8 that's saying a lot.

The food here is amazing. Oxtail is my favorite, they give you enough food for your dollars. I alway get the Fish with steamed cabbage for my dad and he always enjoy it

They have the BEST CURRY CHICKEN EVER. I been going to this business since I was a kid when they had a location in Merrick blvd in queens. I only like my curry chicken I make at home. This spot is the best. A great neighborhood spot.

Awesome service - both ladies and the gentleman were extremely friendly on the two different mornings I went for breakfast . The food was also very good, tasty and portioned well. I will definitely go again on future visits to the Queens area.
