Terrible Service received Thursday April 11, 2024. My husband and I ordered takeout .. As my husband started giving his order to the server, he walked away. Then walked back to the counter to ask us if we were ready to place an order. I advised him that we were trying to give him the order! My husband asked for vegetables, the server stated that there were no hot vegetables only salad. Seconds later a young woman brings out steamed cabbage, and the server didn't even offer the veggies and my husband had to ask to get a serving (attitude intensified). I then placed my order with the rude one and downsized my order just because I didn't want to prolong the experience. This was definitely giving attitude with rice and guess what? The food was so damn mediocre, for all of that I will cook. This is no Trincity people, how dare they treat ppl like this with such subpar food.. never again!

The only place that has authentic Jamaican food- my family from Jamaica eats here when they too lazy to cook. Its silver krust alone that makes true Jamaican food- best jerk chicken best oxtails best sides n rice n peas.... Hands down worth the drive from the bronx

This place is a great place for comfort Jamaican food. Yes there's many other locations close by that offer the same food but when I first ordered food from here what I felt after tasting the food was comfort. Service was iffy but you get over it when you eat the great food. There's no ambiance cause it's stop and go. There's no indoor dining area. So take the food and go home and enjoy.

Silver Krust is growing into a wonderful food change. It is of course better than Golden Crust, but there is something to be said about the service. My kids and myself love the food. The rice and peas, fried chicken, oxtails, fish, soup, stew chicken, basically everything there is off the hook. There is not one time I have been disappointed by the food. Now the service, sweet Moses, they need etiquette classes on what you shouldn't tell customers. It's not just this Silver Krust, but pretty much all of them that have issues with rolling eyes, talking over your food, and just straight ghetto fabulous behavior. It is not supposed to be that way in any place of service, but this is there frequent issue. There is one guy in this particular restaurant who comes out to give a hand with sharing food. He is as sweet as can be and is NEVER rude to anyone. If he is not there, I don't buy food from them. If you don't mind the attitude please go and enjoy, but if you know you will snap from the woman servers attitude look for a guy server and enjoy! I promise you won't be sorry you ate there. BTW another one is opening on UTICA AVE close to the diner at the corner. I pray the service is not a issue.

Bought two small meals. 1. Rice and peas with curried goat2. Spinach rice with pigtail. You have a choice of fresh salad. The meals were very tasty! Super tasty! Incredibly tasty! Yummy X 100!!!Getting your meal is a very regimented sort of machine which makes me like this take away spot. You go in, join the queue (I'm sure there's always one as their food is the bomb!), check out what selections they have while you're waiting and be ready to.place your order when it's your turn. . Some folks actually waited till it was their turn to ask about other food that wasn't in the tray. No! What you see is what's available! After your food/drink is taken out you (please) proceed to the salad counter, make your choice, then the cashier then you're out.Even though the queue is long, the way they operate makes it go quickly. Did I say how great their food taste! Shop aestehtics aside, I'll be back!The End.

This establishment does not value their customers or their wishes. Customer service goes a long way. If you are someone that require no carbohydrates in their meals for whatever reason(diet, diabetes, etc.), and do not want rice with your meal, you cannot get it that way. You tell them that you will pay the full price, just omit the rice. They refuse to do so saying that they do not sell it like that. Are you kidding me? The old man at the cash register says "If they want meat only they can buy it and cook it at home". You have got to be kidding! So, the customer would have to buy the meal and take their time getting rid of all the rice grains they did not want. I have no idea what kind of customer service they're practicing. If the customer CANNOT rely on this establishment to serve them well, you cannot TRUST that they would serve you food that was not expired or possibly had some outside substance in the food. Spices can hide the smell of bacteria. Why would they care about the quality of food they serve if they do not care to omit something from your meal? Staff is no longer up to par like it used to be. It's like musical chairs with the staff, they don't last. I used to go multiple times a week every week, not anymore.

Excellent food.....my man and I stopped & settled on the stew oxtails.....they were so deelish....I would surely go backCan't forget the Macaroni salad.....not bad at all!!!

There are a lot of steam table restaurants that serve West Indian food in the neighborhood, but Silver Krust has a few things going for it.First, they have the ordering process down to a science. It's a typical assembly line arrangement, but compared to some comparable establishments, it's a breath of fresh air. Second, the quantities are plentiful. It's not like you're going to get ripped off at other places, but you will be full after you've finished. Hell I was, and I'm a big guy. Third, due to the volume that they get on what seems like a daily basis, the food is pretty fresh. Less time sitting out is always good.Because of this there is sometimes a line out the door, but due to the aforementioned assembly line, it goes pretty quickly. I recommend the oxtail over rice & peas. Ask for a little extra gravy too.

I got the Jerk chicken at the Silver Krust. I am not too familiar with jerk chicken, so I can't speak to its merits in a comparative manner, but I thought the meal was good! The helpings were huge! Chicken, rice and beans, and some really great slaw were just brimming over the container. The lunch was only around $8, so a good price too.There is no seating inside the place, as well as no posted menu, but it is definitely worth giving a look for some tasty, affordable Caribbean food!
