One of the best meals I've had in NYC! Everything from start to finish was incredible -- cocktails, appetizers, dips, entrees, and service.I've been dreaming about the Fried Halloumi since dining at Shuka! It was so yummy that we had to get a second order. The Marrakesh cocktail (seemingly Shuka's take on a frozen espresso martini) was cardamom-forward and delicious. We also LOVED the shrimp and grilled lamb kebabs. Highly recommend sharing dishes between your guests so that you can try more! In addition to delicious food, service was impeccable. Our server helped us decide between dishes, checked in on us regularly, and offered to put the kebabs on the same plate for shared table space. I can't wait to dine again at Shuka!!

Stuffed my belly at Shuka!! Walked by this place several times and didn't realize how popular it was! My party of 3 started off with the whipped feta and pistachio dip was delicious with its well seasoned and fragrant nutty flavors. The fattoush salad came with fried halloumi pieces that had a perfect texture balance of outer crunch and inner chewiness. The veggies itself were fresh with just the right amount of dressing and not too sour. The chocolate babka french toast had lots of chocolate but wasn't too sweet. The Turkish cold brew was slightly cinnamon-y and not too bitter. For mains, the malawach's Yemenite flaky bread reminded me of a naan but more hollow so it was the perfect vehicle for all the sauces/sides. The carrot romesco was well-seasoned and almost rivaled the pistachio dip, although I preferred the latter. The zhoug was another highlight for me because of its herbacious profile that went well with the other sides. The chicken shawarma featured tender chicken pieces in this tasty curry-like sauce! The pita was soft and the cabbage added an extra crunch. Our server recommended the white sauce and something about the creamy, peppery, and garlic flavors really added to the shawarma and the salad. The restaurant itself was popping on a weekend, even in the afternoon with estimated wait times up to 1-2 hours. Loved the accents of gold and blue. Our server was nice and friendly; food came out at a reasonable time. I can see why this place is so popular and I'd try to come back if I can snatch a reservation!

Went here for my birthday dinner, had a group of 9 people. Ambiance is nice, loved the decor but the food and service was just okay. None of the food stood out to me except the feta dip and the halloumi bites. Service was not the best, was hoping better especially because I was celebrating a special event.

The food was delicious. The halloumi was perfectly crunchy and not too salty. The pistachio dip - clever and tasty. The arayes was my favorite dish with its flavorful lamb in those crispy pockets. The falafel on the Mediterranean plate was very good. I personally did not enjoy the marrkesh drink as it was too frozen and heavy. Overall amazing spot!

On a busy afternoon, service was on their game. Food arrived hot + tasty and drinks were flowing. Overall great experience here. Would definitely revisit when visiting the city if in the mood for Mediterranean cuisine.

Went for dinner and thought food was delicious and service was warm and attentive. The taramasalata and labne were outstanding in their flavor profiles. In particular the labne was a treat with the citrus and honey (it is also much thicker than your typical labne). Recommend going with friends and getting dishes to share family style so you can try more. Atmosphere was warm and cozy and we got a window table which was perfect for people watching. One item that could be improved were the shrimp kebabs. Felt like you didn't get many and a little bit more on the tough side. Overall though, would go again and am interested in trying their brunch offering!

I've been wanting to try Shuka for a while, and I finally got the chance! We decided to go all in with the Shuka Feast, and it was absolutely worth it--delicious and plentiful. Here are some highlights:The fried halloumi, a semi-sweet fried cheese, was incredible--an instant favorite. Among the dips, the labne with tangerine and honey and the squash moutabel stood out as top-notch. The turmeric rice was a standout too, packed with flavor from cranberries and fried onions--I couldn't get enough of it!The Niman Ranch sirloin steak, while slightly tough and chewy, delivered fantastic flavor, and the grilled lamb was another solid choice. The za'atar fries were tasty, and we also tried the spit-roasted chicken shawarma. While the chicken was juicy, it didn't quite win me over and could've been skipped.Service was excellent--attentive and welcoming. Overall, the food was really good, and I'd definitely return. Highly recommend! :)

I need more fried halloumi. I love Shuka's Feast (who am I kidding, I love all feasts) as an option for dinner, but it needs more fried halloumi, because fried halloumi is my favorite thing here. If you do get the Feast, you're going to start off with a very large, very colorful, very delicious spread of veggies, dips, dates, falafel and more that all pairs very well with their fluffy and fresh pita. For the second round, you get your choice of kebab, as well as rice and some more veggies. Personally, I love the steak (Niman Ranch FTW) and the lamb merguez, but there isn't a bad one in the bunch. All of this is served up by some very nice folks in a beautiful, comfortable setting. The only downsides are that the wine list is quite pricey, and there is not as much meat (kebabs are small) or fried halloumi for my liking.Otherwise, outstanding.

A west village Mediterranean restaurant with a nice vibe! The interior was beautifully decorated with string lights, so it would be a nice place for a date night. It is a bit loud and dark in the restaurant though. The service was fast too. I ordered 4 dishes:* Taramasalta - 9.5/10 - this dip is similar to a white fish salad but not as salty. I liked the tobiko on top and it wasn't too heavy for me. * Muhammara - 8/10 - this dip is seasoned well so it's super flavorful. It also has a strong walnut taste. * Fried Halloumi - 7.5/10 - it's fried cheese, so of course it's delicious, but it's also pretty heavy. I would get a lighter main meal if you're getting this. I wish the halloumi pieces were a bit smaller. * Lamb Merguez - 7/10 - the flavor of the lamb was great and I liked the sauces, unfortunately this was too salty for me Overall, I enjoyed my meal. The pita that came with the dips was so fluffy on the inside. It was the perfect vehicle to wipe up every last bit of dip. My only wish is that the salt levels were controlled a bit more.
