Let me start off by saying that I am NOT a sushi SNOB. I love sushi and enjoy sushi . But I am not an elitist . My lady and I went here on a whim and we not disappointed! The service was excellent and the 14 course with the wagyu add one was melt in your mouth. Actually it was SOO good and memorable ( esp for the price point ) I went back for lunch the next day! Also * I actually felt FULL , like FULLY FULL after the omakase experience. Which is a great sign. There was only one piece of fish that came out that I didn't like - it was salmon with some butter / cheese on top. It was like an "American" twist. That one wasn't great. Everything else was fabulous!Highly recommend!

Food was amazing, and delicious. Freshly made in front of you. Servers polite and very soft spoken. The vibes were cute and mellow, there weren't too many people in the restaurant, so we didn't feel rushed. We were there for maybe 2 hours - and we were sufficiently full afterwards. Our wagyu was brought out at different times because of a slight miscommunication, but it was delicious nonetheless. 4.5/5

Good but not *great* compared to some of the other omakase places around, especially for the price. We opted for the $88 omakase course. The Good:- Uni, toro nigiri, unagi + foie gras, and toro handroll was 4 really flavor packed and delicious way to end the meal- Staff and chefs were extremely friendly- Spacious counter area and pretty large interior, very cleanThe Bad:- Trying to be slightly too "innovative" i.e with cheese on torched salmon, instead of just having the natural freshness of fish shine through- Too many torched dishesOverall, could still be worth trying once!

I had been eager to try this place after reading the reviews, especially the omakase box to-go, which is on the pricier side at $68. Finally, I made a reservation with a friend for her birthday, and they kindly gifted her a can of sake, which was a nice touch.Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming and a bit of a letdown. It felt like they were trying too hard, focusing more on elaborate toppings than on the quality of the fish itself. The toppings didn't complement the fish well, and the combination felt forced, detracting from the overall authenticity of the meal. I wasn't surprised to learn that the restaurant is Chinese/Taiwanese-owned rather than Japanese. We opted for the $150 omakase set B, which includes 19 courses--four appetizers, 11 pieces of nigiri, uni rice, a wagyu tasting, a hand roll, and dessert. The crab and lobster appetizers seemed frozen, and the lobster was overcooked and tough. The oyster appetizer, loaded with fish eggs, cucumber, and way too much mayonnaise, was overwhelming and unbalanced. The wagyu tasting was fine, though the chef recommended pairing it with cucumber to balance the flavors, alongside some strawberries. I didn't really get the idea behind that pairing--it felt unnecessary. The wagyu would have been fine on its own with foie gras, fish roe, and uni, without the added distractions. The nigiri pieces were decent, but none of them stood out as particularly memorable. At this price point, the meal is certainly a good value, but I wouldn't return. It seems they tried to be innovative with the flavors and combinations, but in doing so, they sacrificed authenticity and the natural taste of the fish. It felt overdone.

A delicious experience trying Omakase set A and adding on the Wagyu tasting. We took my mom here for her birthday and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Our chef was very friendly, and the restaurant has lots of aesthetic cherry blossom decor which was nice. I also like the chilled sake dispenser you get if you order a bottle of sake. For the dishes, we enjoyed that the set came with unique appetizers. There was an oyster dish and a warm crab soup. Both were delicious and got us hyped for our nigiris sushis. The fish was super fresh, and I liked the different ingredients used for each piece. They complemented the taste of each fish very well. There was good variety for set A (including some of my favorites like uni, toro, and scallop), and we were stuffed especially after adding the wagyu. Not sure if I could ever fit all of set B in my stomach but would definitely come back for more omakase!

The staff, the food, the ambiance, I enjoyed every moment. Each piece tastes unique and it blew me away! Beyond fresh. Also, I'm pescatarian so the staff made accommodations for me, with no hassle. This is my first omakase experience and I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

The food quality was very great. The fishes were very fresh. We ordered a $88 omakase, a omakase set A, and wagyu sampler. Both set were very similar. After finished the set, we were 80-90% full.

Went there for the Omakase Set A, 15-course for $100. The nigiri selection was all fresh and the chef ask what's the right amount of wasabi prior to prepping the sushi. Snow crab soup it the spot that night as it was cold outside. Counter seating was nicely spaced and wasn't packed so we weren't rushed to leave after the norm 90mins or less at other omakase places. Service was good, came by to clear the dishes quickly (i.e., oyster dish, soup bowl). If I was back near Grand Central area craving omakase I'd try a different set maybe add on the Wagyu option.

The menu had a lot of options and we decided to get the 14 course omakase. The food was very good, my friend doesn't eat shell fish and they provided delicious alternatives for those who have allergies.Service was good, it was somewhat slow in the beginning but the chefs are are also very busy with table service.Busy restaurant and definitely should make reservations if you are interested in eating at the counter.

I took my mother here for her first omakase experience for her birthday dinner. I'll preface it by saying that we're nowhere near omakase connoisseurs, so this may not be the review for you if you're seeking a more expert POV. We probably shouldn't have made a reservation since only 2 other tables were being served when we got here around 5:30pm, which is super early for dinner, but more people rolled in within the next hour. We opted for the Omakase A 15-course meal. I must say that the Butter & Garlic Lobster Stew appetizer was a bit of a strange choice to start the set with, though the sauce had the perfect amount of garlic flavor, but pretty drenched in starch. We didn't care for this.We generally liked each tasting - granted, we don't have a ton of experience with omakase and can't compare on quality and execution to other places, but we felt the experience was truly elevated by our chef who took the time to talk to us, speak about his background, and explained logistics of the ingredients because for one, we could tell the freshness of the uni from Hokkaido was still intact from being shipped overnight. The desserts, we didn't really care for either.
