OMG! This spot hits the spot! Did not expect anything like this. The entire experience was a food explosion. Highly recommend this place. The chefs and the entire staff are so nice and have the best service.Sitting at the bar while the chef is preparing your next culinary treat is so nice. The ambiance is cozy and I will definitely come back next time I visit NYC

1) The portion size: The smallest pcs I HAVE EVER SEEN! One pc of sushi was literally half of my thumb!!!! The fish slice appetizer was also my thumb size as well LOL 2) Taste: rice was missing seasoning. All the fish tasted about the same bc they used the same sauce and torched it. Probably bc they were not fresh, so they need to cover the taste. Some pcs tasted very fishy.3) The seating was not comfortable. They tried to fit as much ppl as they could, so you would have problems getting on and off the chair. They could easily provide steamed egg or a soup to make the customers feel full lol there is NO WAY ppl would leave satisfied at that place unless it's their first omakase experience LOL

I tried it on my own. But have returned a few more times. Definitely a good price for the quality of what they offer. I especially like the super special combination they made as a special order.Fresh and priced right .

SO worth it for the price point. This was our first NYC omakase and for $65, you are fed WELL! Be sure to book in advance as I heard one of the wait staff tell a customer on the phone that they were booked up until the next day at 9 PM. We did the 12-course omakase, which started off with a kumamoto oyster and ended with a little unagi onigiri. Each piece was so well made and had that fresh quality of a high end omakase spot. My favorite by far was the toro with caviar-- incredibly melty and a delicious blend of flavors. The dining experience is pretty intimate, with only a few bar seats lining the already cozy room. There were a few celebrations, including a birthday and anniversaries, which the staff did a great job at hyping up haha. Overall had an amazing experience and will definitely be back!!

Absolutely incredible and easily one of the best spots for high-quality, but not break-the-bank expensive sushi in NYC. Shiki Omakase has been on my bucket list since they first took the internet by storm with their $65 12-course omakase, so I was ecstatic when I finally managed to snag a reservation. While $65 for 12 pieces of sushi certainly sounds expensive -- and it is -- most omakase sets can easily cost upwards of $150 to $200. Despite their low (ish) cost, Shiki manages to deliver an outstanding set of sushi with top-tier service. The fish was super fresh, and it was really fun to be able to watch the chefs prepare the sushi right in front of you. Their menu rotates seasonally and depending on what's available at the markets that day, but when we visited, we were treated to their oysters, madai, hamachi, salmon, akamizuki, hotate, kanpachi, toro and caviar, uni and truffle, albacore tuna, A5 wagyu with uni, and unagi. Every single bite was phenomenal, with the perfect ratio of fish to rice, and with a great balance of other toppings, sauces, and flavors to create a fun experience of different textures and flavors with each bite. A few of my favorite pieces included the uni with truffle -- it was so rich and creamy, and it had a great earthiness and umami flavor from the truffle; it can be tough to balance two such strong flavors together, but they did an amazing job -- and albacore tuna with chili crisp. They're also fully willing to accommodate dietary restrictions; I don't eat meat, so they substituted my A5 wagyu piece with a toro and uni nigiri. The combination was incredibly decadent -- the toro was rich and fatty, and served the role of the wagyu perfectly. It paired wonderfully with the remarkably creamy uni, which was super fresh and didn't have any of the dreaded fishiness that uni so often does. In an effort to seat as many people as possible in this popular, but incredibly small, space, tables are limited to just one hour. The meals are pretty efficient, but they still do a good job of pacing the pieces so that you can still fully enjoy each bite without feeling rushed. The main thing lacking in this experience vs. a traditional omakase is that you aren't able to have a full conversation with the chef. It's still a pretty intimate experience, with only around 10-15 people allowed in the restaurant per slot, but the best part of most omakase is that you have one chef assigned to you and maybe one other party, so they're able to have a full conversation with you throughout the meal, answering questions, bantering, and really showcasing their craft. I absolutely love Shiki as a slightly more accessible option for omakase, and they've quickly become one of my favorite special occasion / treat destinations. However, if you want the true omakase experience, it might not be the right place for you.

I tried Shiki Omakase for the first time and had a fantastic experience! The restaurant ambiance was intimate and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a special evening. The chefs who served my friends and I were incredibly friendly, engaging, and polite, adding a personal touch to the experience. My group opted for the 12-course omakase priced at $65, and I was thoroughly impressed. The quality of the fish was impeccable, and for the price point, it truly doesn't get any better. This was also the first time I tried uni and actually enjoyed it. At other places, it's often too fishy or salty for my taste, but here, it was just right. My favorite dish of the evening was the Toro and caviar. I'll definitely be coming back for another round of this amazing omakase experience!

My first time trying omakase, and I was disappointed! All the food was fresh, delicious, and the price was great considering it's in NYC. The food was served at a somewhat fast pace, but I didn't mind as someone who was eager for the next course. The restaurant was cozy, with only 6 of us customers, one chef, and one waitress. Both were super nice and paid attention to if we wanted anything. A great place to pop your omakase cherry!

Shiki offers 2 version of their omakase - a base and a premium. I decided to treat myself to the premium for $35 extra. They were celebrating their 3 year opening anniversary and offering ever a complimentary bottle of sake! The premium pieces were fresh and delicious, well worth the extra splurge. The "base" omakase also comes with the uni truffle and wagyu uni pieces so you can't go wrong with either! The gentleman sitting next to me was celebrating his bday so we got to enjoy an epic bday sparkler celebration. Highly recommend Shiki was a delicious omakase at/under $100!

I walked in on a random Wednesday with my dad, and there was only one other party. I got the $65 for 12 piece omakase and my dad got the $100 for 15 piece omakase. This is definitely a more affordable option for omakase and honestly a steal with what it being served. My favorite was the toro & caviar and the A5 wagyu & uni. Everything was super fresh, so you are getting high-quality omakase for an amazing price. The ungai was the only one that I was not a huge fan of. I would definitely come back if I was thinking of getting affordable omakase!

This has to be the absolutely fresh and delicious omakase I've ever had!! Their scallop was very tasty and fresh. My favorite piece out of all would have to be The A5 wagyu with uni. Can't go wrong with wagyu and uni combo. The Chef's are super friendly and fun and the service was great. Can't wait to come back to Shiki again :)
