1 appetizer, 1 soup, 1 dessert, and 9 pieces of sushi for only $50 during lunch time! Such a steal! Normally when you compensate for cheaper omakase you also sacrifice taste and quality, but here you do not! Everything was delicious and fresh. My personal favorites was the appetizer, salmon belly, and toro. The dessert was also fantastic! I recommend sitting in the bar area so you can see the chef make the sushi right in front of you. When you sit at the bar, you eat sushi by sushi. When you sit at a table, sushi is eaten 3/4 at a time. It is more of an experience at the bar! The service was great and very communicative. The shop was on the smaller side, so I definitely recommend making a recommendation. I would most definitely come back! So so good and so so affordable!

4.5 stars - Live right around the corner and have walked by but never went in. Finally decided to this past Sunday and happy we found the next local omakase haunt. The entrance isn't necessarily obvious as you cannot see in but it's an omakase restaurant which I think they purposely make it that way for the allure. Food: Really amazing !! We both got the 65 dollar omakase set ( we ended up ordering extra pieces. The fish / scallop was fresh - and sliced to the appropriate proportion to rice (not too thick or thin). We frequent omakase restaurants often and can say this gets my stamp of approval (and especially for the price point!). Service : great service and staff was very attentive and politeAmbience : this is where I took half star if I could. The lighting and decor is like you are walking into a fancy cafeteria - super bright and very bare walls and the restaurant felt quite "empty" even though most of the tables were full. The walls are wooden paneled without decor (maybe going for minimalist) which is nice but then the ceilings are high with really bright lights. Now if you don't care about the ambience and decor then don't worry about it ! Otherwise some low hanging lights and maybe candles instead might help ! Overall - we enjoyed our dinner and would definitely be regulars.

I wrote this review months ago and never finished it. I have to admit this was my first Omakase experience. From start to finish the everything was impeccable. Our waitstaff was super attentive and constantly filling our water cup. The restaurant was very bright, clean and with few seats. My favorite was the Donberi and Otoro. My girlfriend doesn't love uni so I got to have all of hers. The plating highlighted the fish. We agreed this experience would be a place to revisit every 3-6 months so our wallets can recover lol.

Lunch omakase for $49 for 12 courses... so reasonably priced! We also ordered the supplement oyster shooter, wagyu nigiri, toro scallion got $25. Worth the splurge! The rice looks brown, but it's actually white rice marinated with brown vinegar and a little bit of brown sugar. What a great value for omakase lunch. Highly recommend!

Shihou omakase was an amazing surprise, quality and fresh seafood, very nice rice, excellent and dedicated service. Nice venue, price performance is one of the best options you will find in NY. The only issue is the lack of waiting area.

Amazing experience! We came for the lunch omakase special and were so impressed by the detail and flavor of each piece. Our server was excellent and provided us fresh towels before and after sushi to cleanse our hands. Overall, I think my favorite part was the Donburi bowl. 10/10 recommend next time you find yourself in the area.

I love omakase. I love not having to decide what to eat. This place has multiple locations apparently and opened up near the end of last year. It looked good and I'd been wanting to try it for a while. I'm glad I got the chance. It's a small-ish place. You can either sit at the bar or a table. We sat at the bar and these 2 girls next to us were super loud the whole time. I got the green tea sake, which actually taste like straight green tea and I loved it. I don't remember the name of it. The rest of the courses were pretty standard: uni, sea bream, tuna, wagyu beef, and there was a wagyu beef nigiri but I forgot to take a picture of it. The night ended with this adorable looking dessert which was wafer cookie with ice cream in it. Really nice restaurant, very nice service, not too pricey, and their sake list is pretty extensive. I would go back just for that green tea one.

This was a nice omakase experience, but for the price, not exceptional. We sat at the counter, and appreciated the slow and calm environment as opposed to some omakase experiences that are more rushed. The fish was tasty and the flavors were very good. However, the atmosphere / restraint itself was a bit underwhelming for a counter experience at $155 per person. Overall, good sushi but there may be better bang for your buck out there!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Shihou Omakase! The quality to price ratio for the meal was excellent. For $135 we got 5 Appetizers, 10 Pieces Sushi, 1 Hand Roll, soup and dessert. One of the people in our party is allergic to shellfish. The restaurant went above and beyond to curate a special menu for him. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She did an excellent job explaining all of the menu items. We were sitting at a table, not the counter, but The sushi chefs made it a point to acknowledge us still. The restaurant was super generous to give us an extra dish of wagyu beef with uni, truffle, and gold flakes. I would love to go back and I recommend visiting Shihou Omakase!

Went here for omakase, the staff were really nice and explained each item, fish were fresh, uni was delicious. Tried the premium omakase coz it had uni and wagyu, was not disappointed. Probably had the best dessert included amongst the many omakases I've had in the city 10/10 recommend!
