Shrimp was burnt. The whole dish had such a strong smokey, burnt flavor.

visited this restaurant late at night when a lot of other places in Koreatown were closed. The outdoor area was very pleasant and cute for a summer night patio restaurant experience. The service was attentive and prompt. Be aware that tip is automatically included. The food was good. The dumplings tasted fine, and so did the garlic shrimp with rice. The portions were big, but the entrées were definitely somewhat pricey. The shrimp was $32.

I visited Shanghai Mong in Koreatown last Saturday and had a good experience. We tried a variety of dishes, including kimchi fried rice, vegetarian bimbimbap, mussels, and some noodles. Out of everything, the kimchi fried rice stood out as my favorite--it was absolutely delicious. The mussels were also quite good, though I found the bibimbap to be less impressive in comparison to the kimchi fried rice. The soju drinks were fantastic, and I had the chance to try different flavors like peach, watermelon, and mango. The mango soju was my favorite. The restaurant provided a pleasant dining experience with clean restrooms and good service. Overall, we had a fun time at Shanghai Mong, and I would recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy some tasty Korean dishes and great soju.

Decent spot. Does the job if you're hungry. LolI ended ip here by accident after getting stuck in the area. My friend wanted to hit up the Thai festival, but after we walked not even 10 feet, the lines to get anything was so ridiculous we had to pivot. We shared a few items that were not memorable at all. The only thing I liked was the rice. The garlic chicken was decent, but it wasn't nearly as spicy as we assumed it would be.

A well advertised SOJU bar is what I would call this place. Situated in K-town, Shanghai Mong was empty and we were skeptical on this place. The service was good and the menu was huge and a little overwhelming. Our order:Veggie DUmplingsGarlic ShrimpJjampong SoondubuKimchi friend riceBi Bim BapBokum JjamppongWatermelon/Peach SOJULoved their spice levels and that made the Kimchi fried-rice very good. Dumplings were perfect. The Jjamppong and Bi Bim Bap were they highlight of the order. The quantity was large and filling. The best part were the SOJU. It is the GOOD DAY SOJU and we loved the Peach, Lychee and watermelon soju. They should emphasize more on Sojus.

Was badly craving jajangmyeon, all the Korean spots were closed, but this place. The menu here is half Chinese and half Korean cuisine. This is probably more of a spot to go if you're drunk and can't taste any difference, can't imagine anybody voluntarily going out of their way if there are other options. It did it's job and hit the spot for late night jajangmyeon craving. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

This is a great spot for dinner if you ever find yourself in K town with no reservations and 40+ minute wait time. The restaurant had a nice vibe attracting a mix of older and younger adults. Food was also pretty good, and there is a variety / fusion of asian food on the menu. Our plates all came out at different times, but it might not be a big deal for you if you are doing it family-styled. Otherwise, my friends and I were happy we found this spot to grab a quick dinner!

Service was fast and the food was good. Didn't have too much of an interaction with the employee and the small interaction I did have was when I placed my order. We didn't get to dine in as we were done for the day and just wanted to get back to our hotel. Both our orders were good. We really enjoyed the chicken fried rice as it was flavorful and had plenty pieces of chicken in it. The pad thai was sufficient for two and it was ok as it lacked flavor. We poured soy sauce on it and it tasted a lot better. Prices were a bit steep but hey its NYC.

Average chanjang myun experience, the sauce was way too sweet and the veggies were nothing special and also sweet. Overpriced for what it is.

Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, but we felt scammed when we found out that we double-tipped. They seem to have purposely hid the automatically tipped section to make us tip again. See photo. In the end, we tipped 40%. Very shady, wouldn't support business owners/waiters like these.
