We recently tried Serra by Birreriaaka the rooftop restaurant in Eataly in the Flatiron District, and let's just say we were AMAZED!!The Tiramisu Pancakes were the star of the show! We been wanting to try these for a few few years now and they definitely lived up to the hype! Their technique is to utilize coffee flavored syrup, which they pour out of a Greco, which was very unique! This gives the pancake flavor, love, and the sweets complimented the savory pancakes excellently! The pancakes are topped with mascarpone cream just like you would find an original tiramisu. These are some of the best pancakes we've ever had and we definitely come here if you're a tiramisu lover! We also loved the eggs Benedict that comes in a crossaint! All of the flavors blended beautifully and the croissant was definitely a nice touch. We felt the portion was small, but it was very filling. We also love the French toast ! Meat on the dish we loved the presentation and all of the flavorsWe will DEFINITELY be back! This would be a great summer spot as they open up the rooftop to the sky for an open air concept What a great place to grab drinks with friendsHave you been here?! follow us on insta / tiktok for more more reviews @yourfavoritefoodguide#foodieztm #foodiesinternationalchat #eatwithfoodiez#foodieexplorertribe #foodandbeverageonly#eatingnewyork #nycfood #nycfoodie #serrabybirreria #serrabybierra #serrabybirreria #eataly #eatalynyc #eatalynewyork #tiramisu #nycpancakes #tiramisupancakes #nycfoodphotography #nycfoodies #nycfoodgals #nycfoodfinder #nycfoodblogger #newyorkfood #newyorkfoodie #newyorkfoodguide #newyorkfoodblog #newyorkfoodblogger

I wish I could give them more stars but the cocktail I ordered when I went to the Alpina "Apres Ski" pop-up because was not good at all (strawberry spritz). The rooftop is beautiful tho..they change the theme depending on the time of the year and I hope they keep doing it but they should improve on their cocktails. I didn't try any food but I would like to next time. Service was nice but they were a little lost, bringing us food when we didn't order so obviously it was for other customers.

The ambiance, service, and menu was all spot on. Conveniently located in Flatiron, this spot is certainly a gem. Perfect for getting together with friends or for date night. We came in on a weeknight without a reservation and had no issues getting a table right away. The food was top tier. Would definitely recommend.

Eataly might be one of the best smelling stores in NY: truffles, cheese, and fresh produce abound with a few restaurants tucked away inside. We booked a lunch reservation at the rooftop greenhouse Serra, and expectations fell short.Given the time of year, the place was packed leading to some long waits for service. Fortunately, staff were quick to turn over tables.Like the other Eataly eateries, Serra offers up a full menu and a lunch pre fixe. We both opted for the pre fixe, splitting an order of rustic bread + olive oil as well. The bread came to the table chilled, though the olive oil was excellent with just enough grassy brightness. The quality of the food was solid: my Caesar salad featured torn lettuce tossed in a creamy, garlicky dressing, dusted with pecorino, and topped with an anchovy filet. Her roasted squash was topped with hazelnuts and honey over a honey whipped ricotta. The pastas were good, if uneven: my spaghetti pomodoro was light and bright, but lacking much depth of flavor. Her ravioli were fantastic, if very heavy, stuffed with butternut squash and served in a sage butter + truffle butter sauce

I've eaten at Serra a few times and it's been okay. The ambience is beautiful and the cocktails are always amazing but if you're there for food- service always seems to be slow no matter what time of day. I've normally been quite satisfied with the menu as well. On this past visit our group had the strip steak, the roasted chicken and the canederli. The steak portion was small but it was cooked well. It could have used a better side- served with endive which wasn't beloved. The chicken was flavorful but dry. The canederli broth was fairly flavorless and the speck was surprisingly hard in some bites.

The missing star is because our service lady was clueless. She was attentive at the beginning, but then she kind of spaced out and didn't know what she was doing. We placed the order then we were missing a couple of items. The manager was nice enough to come to comp the mission items and then bring them at a later time, the food was excellent and so is the restaurant ambience so that made up a little bit for the poor service I will definitely be coming back

The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful! The lights are beautiful and romantic. We ordered the potato's as an appetizer, they were delicious but they came out at the same time as our meal. The espresso martinis were delicious and were pretty strong. I got the ravioli and they were a good size portion and the sauce was very good. I didn't love the pieces of butternut squash because they were a little undercooked, but the flavor was great. The servers brought over extra Parmesan cheese quickly which I love! Overall nice experience and I would visit again.

Our friends invited us to join them for dinner and I wasn't expecting much based on reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. The place had a cozy ambiance, very different than summer vibes on the rooftop. We started with some oven fresh bread with EVOO seasoned with some fresh herbs. We enjoyed a crispy fresh gem Caesar salad, the polenta with mushrooms, and the grilled branzino. All were really delicious. But what put the meal over the top was our server, Sunny. She let us sample a couple of their wines by the glass and gave us a really nice pour. We never felt rushed yet we always felt her attention. All in all, a nice, winter evening!

I am surprised to see so many low ratings bc I had a great meal at Serra. The two must-gets of the night were the branzino and the tiramisu. Yes, I know..you've had tiramisu hundreds of times...but trust me, this is better. The custardy part is unbelievably fresh and the presentation, with the sauce gushing over the dessert, was fun. Definitely shareable. The branzino was also very fresh and perfectly sauted - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The tomatoes sliced on top were very ripe and had that summer tomato taste. The fried calamari and zucchini were perfectly fried; the zucchini was so good, we wished there had been more. The only meh dish, 3/5, was the tagliatelle with short rib red sauce. The sauce was meaty but the tagiatelle were just okay. Given Serra's access to Eataly's fresh pasta, I am at a loss to understand this. The service was great - I got ice with my water without having to ask! We needed the wheelchair access lift and the staff was very gracious about operating it and making sure that everything was okay. I am definitely coming back.

Christmas decor is out of this world. We sat right next to the tree. Lovely cocktails. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Pasta was good, not the best ever, but good.
