Made reservations for pre theatre dinner which was very easy.Ordered lasagna and spicy penne ala vodka. One of our party had a glass of wine.Food was very good.Staff was good and pleasant and got us out on time. Found it odd that we had to ask for bread. Then it was served with a bottle of olive oil for dipping but the waitress took our unused bread plates away so that left not too many options for the olive oil option. Overall would recommend for food, location and ambience. Side note- it was fun to watch the wood burning oven being used for pizzas.

Serafina never disappoints with their food. I love their cacio e Pepe and it was amazing this time as well. We were able to get seated quickly and the workers were very accommodating. My only complaint would be it smelled a bit like a bathroom. This is an overall great spot when you end up near Times Square or before or after a show.

It's right next to the O'Niell theater which makes this a great pre-dinner place before you watch the AMAZING BOOK OF MORMON musical but this is about serafina, not the musical. On Tuesday, we came around 5:30 and were seated immediately. I got the Spicy vodka penne which I asked to change the noodle to rigatoni and they were able to do so! It's not... very spicy LOL I have a pretty low spice tolerance but it was barely a TICKLE in my throat. Although, the sauce was great! So far, I've had TWO other spicy vodka sauces and this one was the best one I've had (I ate one at a nearby Italian restaurant and another at Parm). While spicy is not a word I'd use in this description, it definitely tasted amazing! My sister got the lobster ravioli and hers was also very delicious! Her lobster was tasty and the sauce, while was the same color as mine, had a slightly different taste but was delicious in its own right. For dessert, we got their tiramisu and while a little pricey, it was pretty good! Since we had such a positive experience, we came THE NEXT NIGHT with our parents this time! This time I got the spaghetti carbonara and it was yummy! It was cooked perfectly, not clumpy AT ALL! My father got the short ribs and they were pretty good! It's definitely not to my tastes (I like SAUCY noods)

The food was wonderful. The ambiance was very relaxing and the serving staff was amazing. The location however! I hate going to places near Time square. Leave EARLY. The place will be hard to get to. But honestly this place is an amazing and there are different location options if you need. I got the Calamari which was made perfectly. I also got the Cacio e Pepe -- really good. I have zero complaints about the food. Portions were good. Bread and olive oil as a little nibble before the food. My drink was good. I heard the margaritas were better though. I'll get that next time.

Stopped here for a pre show dinner. We didn't have reservations but were able to be seated by the bar at a high top. Menu had lots of good options and staff were attentive. The crostini was tasty, though could have used a sauce of some sort. The spicy penne vodka was very tasty but not spicy at all. Prices were reasonable for the city and perfect for a bite near broadway. There was only one unisex restroom though which lead to a line.

I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong thing, but I wasn't a super big fan of Serafina. Came on a weekday night and was seated quickly outside which I was very grateful for. Sometimes it feels like you can't get a seat anywhere if you don't already have a reservation. - Complimentary Bread - The bread was okay, it was a bit tough to chew on but I did appreciate the olive oil which paired very well with it.- Goat Cheese Pizza - I ordered this out of a recommendation from the chef and was honestly disappointed by how little ingredients there were on the pizza. There was barely any eggplant although there was lots of arugula, and it honestly just tasted like white sauce and bread where the bread didn't have much flavor or texture to it. Also, the server said that they would put prosciutto on it and there was none of that. Honestly, pretty disappointing pizza. Would walk over a couple of streets to Mama's if you are thinking about getting pizza in the UWS.Overall, I think there's better places to eat on the Upper West Side / Morningside Heights. Not sure if I would come back again, but if I do I will definitely order something else.

This review is specifically for the Serafina location located inside the Time Hotel on 49th Street in the Theater District. I'm usually skeptical of hotel restaurants, as they tend to appeal to the captive audience of guests staying at the hotel and don't seem to strive for the same level of excellence in terms of food, service, or ambiance as a standalone restaurants, but Serafina exceeded my expectations in all respects when my dining companion, her family, and I stopped in on a recent weeknight for a early dinner before a show. The overall ambiance is upscale casual with a modern urban aesthetic. It feels a little more generic when compared to the signature rustic Italian atmosphere reflected in the other Serafina locations I've visited. Our server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and it's clear the staff know it's important to get diners served and on their way to before the curtain goes up for evening performances. Serafina offers a full-service bar as well as a robust menu of tasty Italian standards including salads, pastas, meat/chicken entrees, and their trademark pizzas. There's something to accommodate most diners -- even those with dietary preferences or restrictions. My dining companions and I shared the Bruschetta ($15), comprised of three pieces of toasted Italian bread topped with diced tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and a touch of garlic, and the Calamari ($19), a generous portion served with a generous portion of spicy tomato sauce. Both were really tasty. I opted for the Marinara pizza ($18), a simple combination of tomato, oregano, and garlic (and no cheese!) which is surprisingly difficult to find. My pizza (which seemed like the simplest dish in our order) came out a few minutes after my dining companions' entrees, which left the four of us sitting there a bit awkwardly, but it was worth the wait -- with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings. My dining companions enjoyed their entrees -- Spaghetti Squash ($25) with sautéed vegetables, pine nuts, and tomato sauce; Eggplant Parmigiana ($25) served with mozzarella and parmigiano cheese, tomato sauce, and fresh basil; and Rigatoni alla Bolognese ($27) with meat sauce -- as well, with all three leaving clean plates for the server. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area for a show.PRO TIP: Serafina and the Time Hotel don't have off-street parking facilities. Mass transit is a convenient and cost-efficient option. The restaurant is located within one block of the 49th Street station on the N/R/W subway line, the 50th Street station on the 1 subway line, and 50th Street station on the C/E subway line, so make sure to bring your OMNY card or MetroCard.

We only came in for a quick pasta, so can't speak for the other items but overall pasta was cooked Al dente and the portions were large. The fettuccine based pasta was a bit overcooked. Would be nice if the pasta came with bread though! The restaurant gets filled and busy so it's hard to get serves attentions sometimes.

Excellent Italian style service where maitre 'D chats briefly to welcomeYou. Bartender kept my glass full my entire 2hour visit. Perfect space to come in, warm up, have a drink and enjoy a high quality bite in a safe and cozy setting. Service was prompt, quality and presentation of food was impeccable. Will be back- Serafina feels like a little version of extended home.

Always a good experience at Serafina. This is now my tried and true, third location in NYC dining with this brand. Service is fairly consistent at every location and the menu is always fantastic if you love Italian cuisine as much as I do. This particular location is part of a hotel and conveniently located next to the Jujamcyn Broadway theater.I had an early afternoon show so it was nice to be able to dine close by and in a reputable establishment. The Times Square area while bustling with food, many restaurants are hit or miss. The food at Serafina, always fresh and especially great if you can find an in house made pasta, with your favorite sauce. The fettuccine I had was super fresh and al dente paired with their signature creamy tomato based sauce, like an "a la vodka" style. Loved it and totally recommend it. The penne a la Vodka comes "spicy" on the menu but we asked for non-spicy. It was also a favorite amongst my crew. Meatballs are a must and any burrata appetizer! We ordered the fried artichoke with burrata, it was heavenly. Balsamic glaze, fresh burrata at the right temperature, cherry tomatoes and the crispy fried artichokes were not greasy. It was perfect. One of my kiddos ordered the breakfast pizza with prosciutto... fabulous as well. This is only on the brunch menu that's why I listed it separately. The other items are on the regular menu daily.
