Different type of Korean cuisine here. Lots of sashimi, excellent Kim chi, pork, and chicken wings.I especially liked the chicken wings. Sashimi was different from normal KBBQ.They advertise they have seafood pancake but didn't unfortunately so that was disappointing. Will be back. The vibes are good, staff are great, and music thumps.

I was meaning to try out this pocha (esp after seeing their yellowtail fish sashimi promotions). Finally got to try it out!- Yukhwe: 8/10 (good but very sauce heavy and on the spicier side. Small portion size.)- Tteokbokki: 9/10 (tasted a lot creamier because of the addition of the white sauce to the normal Tteokbokki sauce. Pretty good.)- Clam soup: 4/10 (wayyyyy tooooo salty!!)Overall, food was ok. Service was good and vibes were pretty modern-- good to come with friends.

was clearing out my camera roll and found photos from our visit to seoul salon back in july 2024. i remember seeing a ton of reels of this place which was how we found ourselves here (though it seems that it opened way before july 2024). there were many dishes that we wanted to try and we ended up opting for three between the two of us. much of my memory of this place is fuzzy at this point (i really need to start taking notes now!) so just jotting down what i do remember.soy scallop with gim rice ($21 - was $20 when we went) - i love dishes like these and i remember enjoying this one and thinking the portion size was too small!spicy raw crab noodles ($29 - was $27) - i'm obsessed with raw crab but i was not really a fan of this one. unfortunately, i don't really remember why but just recall telling my friend that i think we could have skipped ordering this one.littleneck clam soup ($29) - i vaguely recall a kick to this soup but honestly, i love anything soup, so i probably liked this. may be better if i had it now in the winter than in the summer when we went.they also start you off with this ramen snack that was fine (i miss actual banchan!). the vibe of the restaurant is quite fun though it definitely got a bit loud. i would consider revisiting to try some of their other dishes and cocktails ... however, there are also so many other restaurants in the area that i'd like to try which makes it tough!

Seoul Salon really didnt disappoint. I saw some mixed reviews on the food, so i already have the idea what to order. so my experience was excellent with a little minor issue that they deliver one drink really late when most of the food are already served. the restaurant opens at 5:30pm on the dot. there's a long line outside mixed with reservation and walk-ins. you will prioritize to get in if you have a reservation. we got seated really quick with reservation. The space is very cute with a bit futuristic decor, high ceiling, tables are well spaced out. The service was good, i was disappointed that they do not offer lager platter of the yellowtail, we can definitely finish large, I feel like the small is not enough , order one more will be too much . such a shame that they have large on the menu but do not offer even we are the first ones to sit down. We came for the winter special: yellowtail platter is amazing. fish taste very fresh and buttery, comes with salad, dipping she seaweed. the salad itself is already very tasty. the yellowtail is a good portion , i feel like the small portion is good for two person, if you are more than 2 i would think will need more. for unfortunately they do not offer large platter, they said you can reorder if you still want more. Beef Tartare : the beef taste very fresh and with a little korean twist. some crunchy toppings at the beginning i thought i bite into sand, not sure i enjoy that texture. theres'a layer of egg yolk in the bottom , overall very good flavor with a little spicy but not overpower. Fried Chicken: its's very crispy on the outside and stil tender and juicy inside. the batter itself has flavor already with some korean hot sauce drizzled on top to add extra heat and sweetness. highly recommend Mala Pork Slider: i think it's good but a bit overrated, the buns are fluffy but the pork can cook a bit longer, it didnt melt in the mouth. also the pork is very mild, didnt give me mala flavor . Otopus Jeotgal Bimbap: good flavor but portion is pretty small like the size of eggrolls. it's more like a appertizer. Soy Scallop with Gim Rice: very flavorful and scallops are buttery. highly recommend, portion is not big, good for couple bites if you are sharing . our service is good. very friendly and attentive, as mentioned, only one hiccup is that either him or someone forgot our drink order, it was delivered really late half way through the meal.

Absolutely make reservations here. We tried to do walk-in by getting here when they opened and it still took an hour of waiting (and there isn't really anywhere to wait). Granted, it's because their Winter Special yellowtail platter is about to end, but still. Exterior is very, very nondescript. Look for a black wall and a small sign above it for the restaurant entrance. Interior is spacious but is mostly comprised of two-seat tables. Not great for parties/groups but fine for dates. It's loud but classy with a retro futuristic decorinside. We ordered the soy scallop with gim rice, fried chicken, rose tteokbokki, octopus kimbap and of course, the yellowtail platter (with which comes with the ingredients to make hand rolls). My favorites were the fried chicken and rose tteokbokki, mainly due to the spicy sauce. The pear drink goes well to combat the heat. The scallops were also quite tasty. Personally, I didn't care for the yellowtail platter, so its price tag wasn't worth it for me. Speaking of which, prices were fair.Service seemed rather average, as each entree took a while to serve, and our used dishes weren't bussed for a while. I'm assuming it's because our table space was limited, so I'll give the staff the benefit of the doubt. I'd go back again, but Seoul Salon wasn't my kind of restaurant.

I was craving some delicious Korean food and after exploring menus in the city, decided it was time to come back here and try other dishes. The ambiance was so much better this time. No loud music. It was busy for early dinner. We were able to walk-in around 5:30 as long as we gave the table back at 7pm. My friend and I ordered Rose tteokbokki with gimmari, Octopus jeotgal gimbap, and cuttlefish sukhwe. We also ordered green light and moon highball. I really liked the green light. Delish!I wish there were more tteok in the tteokbokki compared to the fish cake because the rice cake was soft and delish. It hit the spot. It was sweet and spicy. For the Octopus jeotgal gimbap, the sauce on the side was a good addition to change up the flavor. The white kimchee paired well with it. For the white cuttlefish, the vinegared red pepper paste along with the sesame oil on the fish gave it a flavorful taste. I want to come back and try other dishes and cocktails.

My friend and I came by for a recent weekend dinner. Our reservation was for 6pm, and when we got there the place was still pretty empty, but definitely filled up over the next hour or so. The decor and ambience, a bit of a futuristic/metallic take on a diner (?), was interesting, but I didn't quite get the relationship with the cuisine/food or the concept they were going for hahaWe ordered two dishes to share - the soy scallop over rice and the rose tteokbokki.Soy scallops over rice - the scallops were soo delicious. Every one of them had a wonderfully light and fresh flavour that paired really nicely with the mixed-in egg yolk and the rice cooked with (seaweed?). Rose tteokbokki - first impression was that the sauce smelled really yummy. Other than that, the tteokbokki and the fish cakes were good, but nothing too special. I did like the gimmari, which is like fried seaweed wrapped around glass noodles. I've never had this before, so it was a very pleasantly surprising experience to try this for the first time. For dessert we ordered their only option, which is the banana milk shaved ice. The bowl is deceptively large, and we were lowkey struggling to finish. The ice had a very nice flavour, but remember that it's banana milk (i.e. the sweeter, partially artificial taste lol) than actual bananas lol. There was also a bit of ice cream buried underneath, and between those two and the hazelnuts sprinkled on top, I was a fan of the variety in texture and flavour throughout. For $13 this was actually quite inexpensive, and I'd definitely order this again next time.Portion sizes for our main dishes were certainly not very big, but for the two of us this time, these two dishes were enough, since we weren't very hungry. But ordinarily, I'd expect 2 people to need to order 3 dishes to share. Price point was nonetheless quite reasonable, but perhaps the $$$ rating for it comes from ordering some of their drinks, too? Their cocktails did seem pretty good, and I'd love to try one next time also.

We made reservations ahead of time. We got the beef tartare to share and then an order of the Jokbal (aka braised pig's trotters ). The jokbal is probably not everyone's cup of tea - lots of fat which I enjoy. There was 2 of us and we got some drinks. It's a good place to catch up and get some different korean dishes (like tapas in a way). The dishes on the menu felt like I was at a tapas restaurant- I think this is a good place to share like family style.Friendly service!

Finally had the chance to check out Seoul Salon for their Seoul Salon x Zest collab. It was a two-for-one visit--finally ticking off a spot I'd been meaning to visit and trying one of the world's top 50 bars (from Korea). The space is much bigger than I had expected with an upstairs level, but it's only a tad spacier than the nyc standard. The ambience is pretty cool with a space theme going on and music bumping in the background. Onto the food, we shared a few dishes between 2 people:Soy Scallop over Rice - the scallops were already fresh and buttery, but it was extra creamy with the topped egg yolk. This paired really well with the rice texture. Octopus Risotto - the octopus had a very strong umami flavor to it, but, the texture of the octopus was superb - still chewy with a bounce, but not rubbery at all. Cuttlefish Sukhwe - the cuttlefish itself was light and had a soft-crunch with each bite, really great for a starter dish. They also gave us a complimentary ramyun dang, which was a dried instant noodle bar snack drizzled with gochuchang(?), and it was a good side to pair with the meal since it was dried and crunchy. For drinks, we picked from the Zest menu and limited to the promo period only:Soy Caramel // butter washed woodford reserve bourbon & aged rum, demerara sugar, aged soy sauce - definitely a hard drink, but it lighter than expected, especially with the aftertasteZ&T // gin distilled with seasonal fruits & herbsfrom namyangju farm, zero waste tonic - very smooth and refreshingOverall, I really enjoyed this visit and would definitely come back, preferably for another awesome collab like this.

I came here on a Monday evening with a friend for dinner. It was one of those restaurants both my friend and I have been wanting to try out.The service was great and very attentive. Decor was great. Ambiance was decent as well. The food itself was good, but not as hyped as what we imagined to be / heard from others. But don't get me wrong, the food was still good to try!We got the soy scallops over gim rice, tteokbokki, and spicy marinated crab over perilla noodles. We enjoyed every dish, but it wasn't over-the-top as we were hoping. The drinks we got were really delicious I must say. We got the Moon Highball and the Green Light.Overall the food was very decent, and the service was great!
