I meticulously searched restaurants ahead of our trip to NYC - how are we supposed to pick restaurants for four days when there are thousands?! This one stood out because it was Michelin-recommended, and also in a super unique location (down in the subway - so cool!) I booked a table for 5PM for a party of six about a month out. We were seated promptly right by the door (at one point, the smoke in the restaurant got pretty bad and they had to open the door so it was pretty chilly in December). To share, we started with a Winter Salad to split. The server brought over a small dish of fava bean dip on the house, and it was quite tasty! For the pizzas, we got a half cheese/half pepp, a GINO BARTALI (guanciale, tomato, red onion, pecorino, parmigiano) and OTTOBAGATTO (beef and pork meatballs, sausage, sauce, mozzarella). The meatballs on the Otto was delicious and tasted homemade. One caveat - the za's are pretty pricey ($26-$28 for a ~12-inch or so pie). It was a delicious meal and quick and friendly service.

There's been a lot of buzz around the opening of See No Evil, partly because -- even in an era of full-blown mini-malls in subway stations -- its setting is distinctive: a small nook within a sketchy stairwell beneath Times Square.Oftentimes, these subway setups sound cooler in theory than in real life. Like, the idea of comfortably dining underground as hundreds of harried commuters squeeze through turnstiles a stone's throw away might seem novel and exciting, but then you're actually there and wondering why you chose to have dinner in a cramped space where the playlist includes express trains roaring by every five minutes.See No Evil, however, has genuinely succeeded in setting apart its subterranean space from the din and the dinge of its subway station. It goes all in on archetypal pizzeria vibes, with decor that includes red pleather booths, wood wall paneling and checkerboard floors, and for me, the ambiance is reminiscent of a sit-down Pizza Hut circa 1993. And while you can still see the subway scene through big windows, it's not intrusive -- rather, you get the sense that some of the passersby are envious that you're lifting a hot slice off a platter while they lift their weary legs up the stairwell steps. The menu is sizable -- a dozen or so options in the antipasti section, another dozen in the pizza section, beverages galore and a couple of desserts. Also, while some items seem to have a permanent place on the menu, others come and go -- if you check out the menu in advance and spot something that sounds seasonal or a bit unusual, keep in mind that it might not actually be on the menu when you arrive. In terms of recommendations, I'm just going to highlight the cheese pizza. Not to be confused with the margherita, it's mostly conventional (mozz, sauce, parmesan) but has the atypical addition of caciocavallo cheese, a semi-hard yet meltable cousin of provolone with a flavor that's conspicuously sharp, aged, salty and tangy. By pairing this assertive ingredient with traditional elements, See No Evil has practically reinvented the cheese pizza, retaining its simple pleasures but also adding a satisfying jab of umami. Much like See No Evil itself, this cheese pizza is simultaneously classic and contemporary, and very much worth seeking out.

Yum. Can that be it? Also, yowza. We ordered the hell pie and it was SPICY. My first bite was the hottest and my mouth didn't really recover. Thankfully, our server replenished our water frequently. They were great. It was a really great pizza though- two of us shared. We also got a Caesar salad. I could've passed and been okay on that. But the pizza is great, service was great. Love the location down near a subway entrance. Very cool spot.

This is an example of Yelpers getting it right. Was looking for a pizza spot while in NY, opened Yelp and saw that "See No Evil Pizza" had great reviews and decided to give it a try. This place serves awesome food with phenomenal service! Cheese Pizza w Sausage - 5 stars. Absolutely delicious, light, and full of flavor.Winter Salad - 5 Stars. Big enough for two, and so fresh and tasty. Love the addition of Gorgonzola cheese, this salad totally works. Service - 5+ stars. Absolutely outstanding! Our waitress went above and beyond and was so delightful! We sat at the bar since all the tables were reserved, and this worked perfectly. You get a perfect view into the kitchen with the chefs making fresh pizzas. The ambiance is minimal, but still has a homey feel to it. Will definitely be back for more great pizza!

Food was delicious - the Hell Pie tasty but IS spicy for those like me with delicate palates. My husband and friend loved it but I needed lots of water! Waiters are so friendly; we loved Noah and then of course the vibes were vibing with music choices at the end of the night. The decor feels familiar and very homey. The location tucked into a subway station is cute and I haven't seen quality or life like that in the last fifteen years living in NYC. Def a good and not super expensive spot to meet after a show in the heart of midtown.

Tucked away off a subway walkway, SNEP delivers on a promise of a great time. The place is tight and was able to secure a spot at the bar. They have some decent beer selections and a menu consisting of salads, antipasto, and pizza. I went with the deviled eggs and the recommended Hell Pie. The deviled eggs were made with tonnato and Calabrian chili crispy were fine, the pizza was absolutely excellent. With a yeasty and chewy crust, the combination of sauce, hot soppresta, pepperoni, and smoked mozzarella made for an addicting bite. Watching the kitchen fire these up in front of you was fun to watch and the servers were approachable and laid back. No pretense here. A great find right off of Time Square and a far cry from the corporate mega restaurants that loom above this subway restaurant. Definitely a must visit.

We've been talking about coming here because we pass by it so often on the way in and out of the 1 train station. We finally came by recently. We got the Hot Mayo which is an artichoke dip with bread. It was delicious and the bread went well with the dip. We also got the hell pie which had great toppings. We felt the service was not great though, and not sure if it was because we sat at the bar. No one came by to take our order or even give us water for a long time even though the place is small and it seemed they had a lot of staff around. The bartender noticed we were not being helped and kindly gave us some water while waiting. And eventually someone noticed our confusion and asked if anyone took our order yet so it seemed they didn't have a system for who would be helping folks at the bar. The space around the bar was quite tight and we felt like we were in the way as the servers kept bumping in our chairs and trying to squeeze past us. It's a cool space and concept though and cozy for the winter

What a hidden gem in a Train Station! Definitely didn't think anything of it but definitely a must check out in NYC. Apps were amazingly good , staff A1 , especially Hashim (hope I spelled it right) he was very attending. Also Ronnie , she was great , kept checking on all tables. They rotated Tables fast and in timely manner. Love the pizzas , definitely try the Hell Pie . Food Was 10/10Service 10/10

What a sleeper spot, both in terms of location and food. Welcome to See no Evil Pizza, where vintage classiness sits inside a subway space. Don't judge, I talked to management and it is an economically amazing decision - they just have to market this unorthodox approach because I can tell you first hand that on top of their crafty decision and synergy with the bar and coffee shop right by, owned by the same guy, the food here is at the elite NYC level. I came in just wanting to try their spot from social media and all that, not high expectations. Mind. Blown. Restaurant week had me trying their Crunchy Salad, Hell Pizza, and Tiranisu dessert (they were supposed to do ice cream but had some issues with the machine that day unfortunately). Salad? Decent texture. Amazing olive flavor. Went well with the white wine they offered as part of the restaurant week menu, but it would have been amazing with a gin & tonic mouth cleanser. I usually get sharp olive flavors when dishes accentuate the olive ingredient but it was very smooth in this salad. Pizza? Top 10 in the city no doubt. It's a crossover of the Neapolitan style with the iconic NYC thin cracker crust. The result is a flavorful sauce packed crackery bite with good air bubbles and puffy hollow crust. 8.5/10 pizza. If you can't get to Una Pizza Napolitana and want a very good Neopolitan fusion in the city, please come here. Dessert tiramisu has decent quality cocoa powder and a soft texture but otherwise nothing mind blowing. Still, delightful pizza spot and an experience you wouldn't have expected. Highly recommend. Friendly staff. Chic vibes. Great food. Awesome informative experience.
