Really stunning meal here. Forgive Sea's sub-par location because the food makes up for it. We loved everything we ordered - the Prawn Roll, Ribs, Crispy Pork, Short Rib and Coconut Sundae were all delicious. Would budget two dishes per person.Special shoutouts to the drinks as well. When I first read the menu all the cocktails seemed a bit fruity and sweet - but the Colada Punch was one of the best, most balanced drinks I've had in a while.Service was very helpful. I'd recommend requesting to sit in the back dining room - better ambiance than the front.

Sea Midtown Manhattan offers a decent dining experience in the heart of the city. The food is good but nothing out of this world--enjoyable dishes that satisfy without particularly wowing. The service stands out as a highlight, with friendly and attentive staff who make you feel welcome throughout your meal. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with a pleasant atmosphere for both casual and special occasions.

Heard about the new restaurant from the the Jungsik group and of course, had to try it. The restaurant is bigger than it looks but the seats in the back are a big too closely placed together. You're definitely in for a squeeze if you get placed on the back benches. The service was attentive at first but then they got busy and it was less so. The timing between the courses was very slow. There was probably 20 minutes before or first course. The food itself was very good. They recommend 2-3 dishes per person but that's way too much food. Their portions are very generous especially if you prefer the fried chicken or short ribs. The dry Tom yum noodles basically taste like jajangmyeon. It was good but warning for those that hate cilantro like me. Overall I'll be back but I hope the service and timing improves.

Relatively new restaurant by team behind Jungsik. Everything was delicious! Especially enjoyed both ribs - beef was tender, flavorful, high quality. Loved the asian inspired flavors as it came with Roti and curry. Dessert and crab fried rice was good, but not to die for. Great spot if looking for last minute reservations. Venue is quite big and not too loud to talk. Service is good.

I read a couple reviews that reservations are hard to come by? I think Sea has passed the NYC hype phase since I was able to make reservations pretty easily recently.Overall my meals have been decent here but the standout dish that I've come back for is the Crispy Pork (the sauce, the crispy pork skin, the portion, all the accompaniments are 10/10). The rest of the dishes have been okay and worth trying but aren't re-orders if I come back.Yellowtail Crudo (3/5- nothing special about the flavors and way too sour for my taste), Spicy Beef Tartare (3/5- the spice level was pleasant but too salty), Crab Fried Rice (4/5- enjoyable and decent portion to share, again nothing special just a good fried rice dish that you can order at a lot of Thai restaurants).Lastly, why does this restaurant have 2 Yelp pages...

4.25Able to snag a last-minute reservation on Saturday night. They have tables in the front of the restaurant which are for last-minute reservations. If you want the back part of the restaurant which has more classic restaurant lighting and decor you should make reservationsService: exceptional, food came out quickly Food: best dishes Ribs and black cod Both were perfectly executed. The cod does have a kick of spice, but it does not overwhelm the dish and the red curry is delicious. Okay dishes: crispy pork was beautifully executed with its individualized pieces but when all put together it was average.Razor clams: good, loved the vegetable accompaniment Ice cream: tasty but not a must order

SEA is a gorgeous restaurant that serves upscale southeast Asian food. The ambience is immaculate and the interior is beautiful. I had a reservation and was seated immediately, even though my entire party hadn't arrived yet. We ordered several dishes to share family style. 1. chili eggs: 8/10 this was so delicious. Essentially a breaded and fried soft boiled egg with the most flavorful chili sauce 2. dry tom yum: 7/10 this was so flavorful and the noodles were perfectly al dente 3. crab fried rice: 7.5/10 I loved the crab chunks and omelette on top 4. crispy pork belly: 9/10 this is a must order. The pork belly was the crispiest and juiciest pork belly I've ever had (and I've had it a lot). You eat it wrapped with the lettuce leaf, vermicelli noodles, and dipped in the chili sauce. An amazing bite. 5. coconut sundae: 9/10 this was SO good. The soft serve was the smoothest and creamiest soft serve I've ever had, and I loved the crispy texture from the coconut. The perfect round out to this meal. Beyond the food, the service was also incredibly attentive. My water glass was never empty. I am curious to try the prime rib and a few of the other appetizers. I would definitely come back to try more menu items.

TLDR: SEA is the latest project from the Jungsik team. Think Southeast Asian through the lens of a fine dining Korean chef. It's a refreshing and modern take on a lot of familiar flavors in dishes you probably wouldn't expect. Prawn roll, Thai links, crispy pork, dry tom yum noodle, razor clam.In a lot of ways, Jungsik is one of the OG modern Korean chefs. As widespread as modern Korean cooking is now - most of the talent we all know now were at Jungsik at some point, it truly is an incubator for exceptional talent.SEA is a passion project of Chef Jungsik Yim inspired by his travels through Southeast Asia. The flavors will remind you of staple dishes but presented in a new and creative way.The prawn roll for example is their take on a spring roll, they use a specific type of rice paper from Vietnam and it's served like a long baton with pork/shrimp/mushroom. The Thai links is inspired by the Thai Esan sausage but served skewered with the accoutrements on the side. The crispy pork is my personal favorite dish. It's this mishmash of flavors with a thin-sliced crispy pork belly. Think like a Thai mookrob but with the vermicelli nest (banh hoi) but with red leaf lettuce to wrap it Korean a la ssam style. The dry tom yum noodle is made using Korean kalguksu, a poached egg on top and this tomyum-ish beef ragu with wood ear mushroom. It's rich, it's flavorful, the noodles have a nice bounce to it; a very outside of the box dish. The crab fried rice is kind of like a Thai crab fried rice but it'll remind you of an omurice but that crispy texture from the cast iron pan that invokes memories of a Cantonese clay pot rice. Both the desserts are lovely but I personally love the pineapple one. They have some solid cocktails as well.In short though, the food situation around Penn Station has gotten much better. If you're in the area and looking for something new, elevated yet still casual - SEA should be on your list. Probably one of the more exciting restaurants to open in NY recently.

My daughter selected this lively and interesting restaurant that exudes good vibes and great team service. We enjoyed the noodles, tartar, sausage and cod. All the food was really well prepared and presented. The cod was not great quality.

The crab fried rice and crispy pork were our favorite! Most of the dishes came with a sauce, and I would mix and match them to find the perfect flavor combos. However, the beef tartare and chefs crudo were kind of plain. The dishes are meant to be shared, and they really varied in size. The tom yum noodles were much larger than the crab fried rice. Both considered "large plates", the fried chicken was a full plate of chicken, but the crispy pork was mostly lettuce meant to be wrapped around the pork, which was a fairly small portion of meat. I would say this is pretty fusion for Southeast Asian food, with lots of Korean influences. The fried chicken was Korean style with southeast Asian seasoning, and so were the sriracha ribs. Overall, we had a great meal. The tables in the front seem to be a lot more casual than the back dining room, which might be more suitable for dates!
