I'd never heard of this place until my friend mentioned it, and it's located outside the busy K-Town area.Everything we tried was fantastic! Although it's on the pricier side, it's definitely worth it. My favorite was the red paste pajeon, which was unlike any pajeon I've had before. The bulgogi was slightly sweeter than usual, and the drinks were absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They assisted us with cooking and advised us not to rush our ordering since not everyone in our party had arrived yet. Overall, this might be the best customer service I've experienced in the area.

A fantastic spot for cozy and homey Korean food in midtown. Their signature bulgogi dish is packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. We got the smallest size for two people and it's perfect. We also got the kimchi Mandoo and loved how clean it tasted. Would recommend getting a reservation as it gets busy on weekends

I've been meaning to come by for ages! Recently stopped by with a group of 3 for a weekend dinner, we had reservations and it was definitely packed when we got there around 7pm. We had a table on the second floor, which was fortunately a bit smaller/quieter.We ordered a bunch of dishes to share:- "Seoul-style" bulgogi: this was the one cooked in the broth, and since we had a bunch of other dishes too, we opted for the 400g size. I was a bit worried it wouldn't be enough at first, but it ended up being the perfect amount. The meat was very tender and flavourful, and I liked how the slightly-sweet broth added some depth to the naturally savoury taste of the bulgogi. Other additions like the rice cakes and the eggs were nice, although I didn't understand why we got specific spoons to eat the eggs with.- kkakdugi fried rice: very yummy, the kimchi flavour was excellent without being too overpowering. The various veggies (esp the titular kkakdugi radish) were excellent. I'd definitely recommend this!- cold kimchi noodles: The noodles were a cold, refreshing complement to the richer flavours of the bulgogi, a perfect pairing. They were a bit too soft for my taste, but YMMV. Portion size not the biggest but enough to share.- bossam: delicious! really tender, each piece just melted in my mouth. The kimchi was fairly average, but I liked the (housemade, apparently) ssamjang that also came with it. Portion size also felt small for the price but not too crazy.Other things of note: The banchan side dishes weren't amazing (the fish in particular was really dry and hard to chew). I liked the barley tea!Overall not bad, and price point (while high... ish?) was def not unreasonable, esp nowadays in NYC ;-; Would be down to come again!

Didn't have a reservation but we were able to get a table before 6:00 pm on a Sunday night. (They are part of the Hand Hospitality restaurant group and we loved Her Name is Han. )We ordered the bulgogi and the pajeon. We really didn't need the pajeon but both were excellent. The server cooks the bulgogi with with fish cakes, noodles and broth at the table. You can add a side of rice to absorbs the wonderful broth/sauce. Loved the fish and banchan (sides) that came with it. We noticed the table next to us the server actually portioned out the servings to the diner. The pajeon (seafood pancake) was cooked to perfection. Lots of seafood and a crispy and tasty exterior. Had leftovers from both as there were only two of us. We also had the icy persimmon for dessert. If you love fuyu persimmons, this is a light dessert for you!

Came with a big group of 13 for lunch on a Sunday and we were able to get seated right away. The bulgogi was very yummy, but the portion size is just way too small ): We got a large but it felt like a medium. Wish it had more of the noodles and rice cakes..as well as everything else. Service is good, as they are pretty attentive and aware of our table with our needs and very good at explaining everything & keeping in mind our dietary restrictions and allergies when a dish came out.The pajeon was REALLY good and crispy, with lots of seafood!

We came here on a weekday night and were seated rather quickly. We ordered the bulgogi hotpot, which came with the standard side dishes, fried flounder fish, lettuce, and ssamjang. The bulgogi was excellent. It was a tad sweeter compared to others I've had, but delicious regardless. The only thing that can be improved on is that the tables are kind of small. We were also seated in the middle along the aisle where a lot of other people passed by.Other than that though, the food is definitely worth it. Would love to come back to try out some of their other dishes as well.

Bathroom clean, no paper towelsMake sure to request a table on second floor as first floor gets crowded especially on rainy daysAmbiance niceFood ranking:1. Kimchi panchan:- the one that comes out before the food, seems to have been made in house rather than from the supermarket.- had a distinct gochugaru taste and fermented just the right amount without being sour- would go back for the kimchi haha, haven't had good kimchi in a while 2. Bossam:- very soft pork belly- came with freshly made kimchi (strong fish sauce taste, crunchy) - would have been amazing with some fresh perilla leaves :/ 3. Octopus:- good amount of spice- very tender octopus 4. Bulgogi:- soft, kinda sweet, it was boiled instead of pan fried - paired well with rice- not sure why there were soft boiled eggs included ....

We came here on a Saturday and got seated upstairs. The waiters were friendly and provided great service. We got the pajeon, crab, cold kimichi noodles and bulgogi pot. The pajeon was crispy and had seafood in it. It was pretty good. The crab was well marinated but a bit on the saltier end. It's super juicy and delicious regardless. The cold kimichi noodles is delicious with the cold broth with the chewy noodles. I wish the noodles were a little thicker. The bulgogi pot was super juicy and tasty. The bulgogi pot was barbecued in broth making the meat tender and juicy. Overall this place was pretty good and delicious. The service here is also top notch cause they cook the bulgogi for you.

Friends and I waited a bit to be seated since there was a long line but we didn't mind since it gave us a bit of time to look through the menu. We came to Sam Woo Jung for one reason and one reason only; to eat their Cold Kimchi Noodles that we saw everybody raving about! It was an extremely hot day so it sounded absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. Our first few bites were great since it was so hot out so the cold was satisfying but once we got to actually taste the broth, it was not good at all. There was just too much ketchup in the broth and we left thinking it must be an off day since so many people consider the restaurant a never miss.
