I had high hopes for Sake no Hana, but unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. I had a reservation for 9:30 PM and called ahead to let them know I'd be a little late, arriving at 9:40 PM. However, when I showed up, they still didn't have our table ready and informed us it would be a bit of a wait. Fair enough, I thought--but we ended up waiting for over an hour and a half before being seated. What was particularly frustrating was that we were completely forgotten about during that time. We had to remind them multiple times about our reservation, and there was no apology or any attempt to make the wait more comfortable. No drinks, no communication--just a prolonged and unpleasant wait.Once we were finally seated, the food was underwhelming at best. The portions were tiny, and the sushi was overpriced for what it was. I've had far better sushi in New York, so this was definitely not worth the hype. The ambience was the only redeeming quality of the evening--it was nice, but that's about it. Even that though was hard to enjoy because of how loud it was. We were only three to a table and you could barely hear the person next to you speak or the waiter.Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I won't be returning. There are plenty of better options for sushi / ambiance in the city.

I went to this restaurant on Thursday, 11/14/24, for my birthday dinner because I'd heard great things from friends and was really excited to try it. I made a reservation for 11 people at 8:15 pm ET, and everyone in my group arrived on time. However, they told us we'd be seated closer to our reservation time but kept delaying it. In the end, we didn't get seated until 45 minutes later. There was no apology for the long wait, despite having a reservation at 8:15 pm ET.When we finally sat down, we ordered à la carte for the whole table, and to be honest, the food was way too salty and the service was not great. When we got our check, we noticed we were overcharged for drinks we bought at the bar and an entrée we never received. We asked them to dispute the charges, and they said they did. But what was really odd was how long it took for them to give us a corrected receipt. At one point, the host even asked if we wanted to charge the transaction on his card--a very strange ask. Upon checking my credit card statement, the disputed charge wasn't corrected. What's even more suspicious is that they made it look like two separate transactions: one listed under "Moxy Hotel Lower East" on 11/14/24, and the other under the actual restaurant name, "Sake no Hana," on 11/15/24. This was clearly an attempt to make the charges look like two different transactions. To be treated like this by a high-end restaurant is beyond disappointing, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would give ZERO stars if I could.

Walking in is an interior designer's dream! Such a great start. While waiting for a reservation, we were offered drinks and they were brought to us in the waiting area, that was a nice touch. The service throughout the entire evening was impeccable, as well was the food! I judge every sushi restaurant by how they make a simple spicy tuna roll, and this place did not disappoint. A few of my dinner mates each ordered the tasting menu and every item on this menu was absolutely divine. Another dinner mate ordered a pasta that packed so much flavor and every single bite. Our bar drinks were well thought out and super cute. I highly recommend this place. Be sure to make a reservation and be prepared to spend a pretty penny... but I promise you it's all worth it.

An exceptional sushi experience with few comparisons outside places like Manhattan. Accessible down twisting stairs beneath the Moxy hotel, the restaurant offers a comfortably dark and elegantly focused dining oasis. My server left her station and walked me through her favorite menu items at my seat. She helped select the best sushi meal I've ever had.The Nagatini Cowgirl cocktail and spicy nuts set the palate. A hot, salty helping of perfectly seared shishito peppers warmed the stage. The Hamachi Crudo was unique and beautiful. The spicy yellowtail with coriander aioli was delicate and dreamy. The nigiri included amazing chu toro (fatty tuna) and o toro (bluefin tuna). My mouth still waters.I also had the chef's selected fish at market price, but cannot remember its name. It was, however, as my server promised: the best sushi I've ever had. She said their fish comes in from Japan every 48 hours. This meal was a birthday present to myself, and priced as an annual treat and not something I could do everyday. If you like sushi, give yourself the same opportunity.

Come here for the happy hour! Friend and I sat at the bar, first come first serve, and we did the $20 happy hour deal which is a total steal. We got a cocktail, bite, and appetizer for $20!! We both got the spritz which was honestly way to sweet for both of our preferences but it was sizable. Then we got the hiroshima hand roll which was fire. For my appetizer I got the wagyu katzu sando and OH LORD was it good. It was soooo well cooked - tender and crispy and the sauce in the sando was flavorful and ever so slightly spicy. Totally totally worth it. The ambiance was very chic and dim - sorta club like, sorta dancy. Overall a really fun stop and I would totally recommend. I also got the black sesame souflee which was heavenly. Overall a lovely experience. I can't speak towards the normal table seating but the bar happy hour was so worth.

This place is located in the Moxi. They have bites but we came for a night cap of drinks. The bar area is fairly large with plenty of seating and cute photo ops in a bird cage are available. The bartenders were quick, attentive. They did a mean espresso martini and aperol. They have a pretty large libation menu. Drinks were $21-$23 each.

Enjoyed a very lovely business meal at Sake No Hana located downstairs at the Moxy hotel in Lower East Side of Manhattan. Arrived early and was greeted very warmly and seated immediately. The vibe was zen with a dash of grown and sexy. My server Rasheed was fantastic and made wonderful recommendations throughout the evening. The server was truly wonderful; Thank you! I highly recommend trying out this fabulous Asian Fusion modern take on Japanese cuisine.Indulged in the Chef's menu which was served tapas style which I enjoyed trying a little bit of everything they offer on the menu; list of food items:TSUKIJI MARKET SWEET POTATO CHIPS 8white miso mayonnaiseBLACK SUGAR ALMONDS - yummy crunch between bitesSMASHED 'MITSUKOSHI' CUCUMBER SALAD - Deliciously fresh and crunchy as a great palette cleanser CHILI CRUNCH EDAMAMESUGAR SNAP PEAS VEGETABLES and CHICKEN ROBATA GREEN VEGETABLE YAKIMESHI edamame, shisoBLACK SEA BASS - delicious with a ginger miso broth served with eggplant

I loved the ambiance . Low light dinners are my fav. I went with my girlfriends and we enjoyed the food a lot. We tried different things. One thing that threw me off was that there was only one bottle on pinto Grigio to select and it was like 95$ . It was tasty but when I searched how much that one bottle was LOL! I was kinda disgusted . It's like 9x the retail price lol! Anyway , shrimp tempura yummy and the crab sushi roll also. I wasn't obsessed with the salmon. I have to try the lamb chops next time. Lobster was yummy, carbonara delicious, beef fried rice yummy. The branzino was wrapped in eggplant I didn't like that. But we had a great waitress she was very sweet and nice. And attentive. I would go back for drinks. And some dessert.

Came here last week for a family birthday and I'm sad to see that others write in reviews the same issues we have experienced. The food was in the higher end of prices, but presented in a non-justifiable portion. We ordered a lot of food, but somehow we all left there not feeling full. The sushi tacos were good, the tempura sushi was as well (although it was regular sushi with a piece of fried something on top), and the only thing that really surprised me in a good way was the mushrooms salad. Sashimi was $9 PER PIECE and the salmon one wasn't even good (didn't taste like anything at all). The "carbonara" was some udons scattered in a plate of cheese sauce and a raw egg was opened just on top of it. The udons were really mushy and overall it wasn't all that good. Then, the desserts. We had to wait 15 minutes to ORDER them, and 20 more to RECEIVE them. The service was good until that moment, what happened? Issues aside, I've got to say that TAO group restaurants are always amazing to see. The tapestry is elaborate, colors work well between each other, and the dim lights really set the ambiance. I wouldn't come back for food, no. It was a somehow sad experience when we expected to try fusion food.
