Just another Thursday night at El Nuevo Canario!
Buffet, but then they bring it to your table
the front of a restaurant
a plate of food on a table
Carnitas rice and beans! Meat was amazing! Rice a bit dry

Great Dominican breakfast! I ordered the mangu, and i usually eat it a very specific way. I like it with lots of onions and eggs only. So usually, most other restaurants will get this order wrong. They got it completely right! They sent everything nicely packed. The delivery guy way cordial, and they were quick with the delivery. The coffee was hot and fresh, just as I ordered it. The best thing was I called the restaurant to compliment the food and the service and the person who answered the phone, Dario, said he was the owner and was so thankful for the feedback and very polite and friendly. He said if any problem ever arose, I could speak to him and he would remedy it right away. THIS is good service. THIS is how you win continued business. I will be getting dinner from here soon and ill add my review of the other food as well. So far 5 star service and food!Thank you!

Love this place. They've renovated it and it looks much better than the current pics. Don't be afraid to order in English they are very accommodating. I usually take food to go but you can dine there as well. Affordable tasty food. My favorite item is the pernil sandwich, Beats the pants off any deli sandwich. Must try it sometime

This place is great! It's really a hit or miss. Sometimes it's the best stuff you'll ever have. Other times you'll order pernil and get a plate full of seasoned fat . It really depends I guess. Smh.

What a lovely space. A gentleman called my friend and I into the restuarant after he saw us drooling over the food through the window. The waitstaff and other customers were welcoming. The food is over the top tasty. Although I did learn I am not a fan of plantains, I would still recommend trying the Mofongo. Even in the middle of a Sunday afternoon the music was playing and people were swaying to the rhythms. Love it!

if you don't speak fluent spanish, prepare for a ten minute exchange where you must repeat everything on the telephone if you're ordering for delivery. however, it's worth it because the roast pork (pernil) is luscious, and they don't skimp on the best part - the skin. the cubano is also pretty dang good. portions are generous and one entree will last you for two days. if you're a fan of mofongo, their version is garlicky and studded with moist chunks of pork AND crisp bits of (again) skin. sense a theme here? i really love pig skin. prices are very manageable. i'm all about this place. in fact...time to see if they have oxtail stew.the space itself is tiny, cozy and cheerful. it's not by any means fancy - you'd probably walk right past it on the way to the bodega or laundromat, but it would behoove you to check this place out if you're craving good, homey, comfort latin food (which i always do).

This place was da bomb dot com. I got like a pound of beef and a bunch of veggies and over a pound of beans and rice for ten bucks. They were BLASTING mariachi music and don't speak English, but it was good food, cheap and oddly fun to be in such a different environment.

Decided to give this place a try being that there are so few good restaurants in the area. I regretted it big time when the food poisoning hit me. The food looked decent and tasted alright but something got me. I noticed the letter grade outside the restaurant has worked its way from a B to a C. Take that as a sign and find another place. Another thing is that no one speaks English in there and everyone inside grills you when you walk in, frequent customers and staff. I honestly don't need an audience while I decide on what to get. Skip the cultural intimidation and get some Chinese food instead.
